Mavs to the Finals: Congrats to the Heat

Another tough game. I'm glad it went to Terry and Dirk in the final possessions cuz they are their best clutch players, but they can't go in all the time. Mavs need to win on Friday, and it'll probably be another game decided in the final seconds.

Also regarding Finley, like Grave is saying true Dallas fans can't cheer for another player on another team in the playoffs. We gave him his standing ovations in the regular season which he deserved, but it's the playoffs and he is the opponent. So keep booing Finley Mav fans.

Well, I thought Bowen's block was clean until I saw this:

Now, I don't want to hear any bitching from Spurs' fans that the refs are calling everything for the Mavs.

did anyone else think Dirk should've dunked or at least taken some time on that rebound? i swear he could easily have won the game right htere.

I was thinking the exact same thing. He didn't even try to jump. He just sort of hopped.
What a terrible play by Rip. Looked like he threw the ball away on purpose. Sheed was open at the top of the key i dont know why they went in the corner where Rip was doubled up. Cavs are surprising everyone.
It's that typical BS Rip has been doing. I think he was trying to draw a foul rather than SHOOTING THE DAMN BALL!!!!!! I don't get it.....what a mess. First the Red Wings lay an egg, now the Pistons. They keep saying they are not worried, like they will win the next two. Maybe they got TOO relaxed and that is going to be there downfall. This better light a fire under their ass.

He said in the post game interview that he didn't think that there was much time left, so that's why he did the quick awkward shot. He said he wish he would've taken a little more time with the shot after seeing the replay.

The thing about this whole Pistons series, is that they're not losing because of Lebron, they're losing because they're playing like pure shit. The media won't see it that way however. If the Cavs end up beating the Pistons that many more people will jump on Lebron's jock. I mean the guy is damn good, but whenever he makes a shot analyst's act like he's the second coming of Jesus. Then the next shot he might air ball and they won't say shit. I'm tired of this Lebron hype and I hope the Pistons pull their head out of their asses and start playing real ball.

However if the Mavs beat the Spurs I would way rather them play the Cavs or heat then the Pistons.

Great game last night. I meant in my post before about Finley that he got released thanks for correcting me. Thank dunk was amazing by Finley though. I thought the Spurs would take this series but I don't think the Mavs will lose 3 in a row. Hopefully the Spurs sneak out of Dallas with a win so we can have a game 7. I dont want this series to end.

I totally agree. Pistons are playing the worst basketball I have seen them play in 3 years. Lebron is no way the main reason the Cavs are winning. He is playing good basketball but it's not like he's playing like Jordan. He didn't take over any of the 3 games the Cavs won. I guess you can argue he is making his team better but the media is all over this. Just imagine how much they would praise Lebron if the Cavs won the Finals.

Agreed...Pistons are chocking, playing horribly....learned from the Red Wings.

Lebron is just annoying, every station LOVES him, it's just sick. I mean he put up like 3+ air balls this series, which is just horrible. He's NO JORDAN, people seem to forget.

um, Jordan at 21 was not even close to Lebron. Jordan didn't do shit in the playoffs for years, and Lebron is about to take his team to the conference finals in his first playoff appearance.

People also seem to forget that he's helped turn around an organization that has been shit for nearly the past decade. He's also bringing in new fans and bringing back old fans who have lost interest in the game, and bringing a hell of a lot of money into the city of Cleveland, which needs it badly. Oh, and he is still only 21. Sure, he isn't the be-all end-all of the NBA right now, but he's done a lot in his short career so far, and has a lot of ball ahead of him, barring a severe injury.

I really can't say anything since I haven't been watching these games, just the highlights, but my teams series against the Mavs in games 1 and 2 totally unfair calls, one after another

fuckin' right. However, I'm sick of people comparing him to other players. I hate that shit.

alright, time for the suns to close out the series...i also think if the spurs win the next game, they will win the series...

nash & nowitzki reunion? likely...

The next game is in Dallas, tommorow night, then it's back to SA.

I don't know who was bitching about LeBron getting calls, but even though i'm not a Cavs fan I was going crazy when at the end of the game when Wallace missed the FT and totally hacked King James down.

The hand is part of the ball according to the rules IIRC.

that's what I thought, but i thought i read a post in here saying it's in dallas...yea, then SA really needs to win the next one
But the thing is the Grizzlies never stood a chance against the Mavs.
What A Cheap Shot, I guess everyone feels like they have to say somethin bad about the Grizzlies, just wait two or three years when we have made it to the WCF or the finals
Terry suspended for Game 6 is a huge blow for the Mavs. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2006/news/story?id=2450020

It should definitely be a game 7 deal now. I saw Finley was mad, but I couldn't tell what happened. All I saw was Bruce Bowen doing his best to tell Finley to let it go for now. Good job by Bowen. They need someone to do that for Rasheed in Detroit.

It's not a lock yet, Devin Harris has been playing crazy good lately. But, if i'm the Spurs I abuse Tony Parker against Harris all night.

Harris is playing well but Terry is one of there main scorers. Losing him is big. He is a huge threat from the outside and it opens up the inside for Dirk.

I had a fellow Mavs fan tell me earlier that Terry was suspended earlier today and I thought he was BS me. I read it on yahoo sports when I got home. fuck :bomb:

i just read it as well. mark cuban's always seems too involved in team affairs, though. hopefully Dallas can ride the crowd to a victory. i can't wait.

now, time to wait for the Clips game to come on.

Just had my friend email me this video: http://www.woai.com/mediacenter/?videoId=250811,56555

It's not easy to see, but it looks like Terry punches him right in the balls. Terry should've kept his cool. But if you thought Mav fans booed Finley before, then they are probably going to let him have it game 6 when they just focus on this suspension. Hopefully Avery can get everyone else to cool down and focus, and hopefully someone like Howard will step up.

I saw a much better angle on TV a little while ago. Terry punched Finley square in the nuts and Finley didn't even do anything to deserve it. That's just as bad a Reggie Evans grabbing Chris Kaman's nuts. I don't care what is going on on the court, you just don't do that.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/5619904

Mavs owner Mark Cuban called the suspension "unbelievable" in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
"Michael Finley does a pile driver with his hip to Jason's head while he is on the ground," Cuban wrote.

"Jason is on his back with Ginobili laying on top of him. No question he tried to get Finley off of him and he should be fined for that. But to suspend him is questionable."

Interviewed on Terry's radio show, Cuban said he "didn't understand it and not quite so politely, I told the league so." He added that after watching replays from five angles, he considered it more of a reaction than a punch. "If that's a punch, Jason certainly didn't get his money's worth," Cuban said. "If his hand would've been open to get Fin off him, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But the fact that his fist was closed when he reacted to him, they call it a punch."

Come on Mark. I know you have to stick up for your team but be real. Finley didn't piledrive anyone with his hip.
I'll see if I can find another clip.

I could read his lips when he was saying "He hit me!", so I figured it was Terry since they were both scrambling for the ball.

I don't think it's a big a blow as some might think. Stackhouse and Daniels will just get significantly more playing time, and I'm okay with that. Plus, the Spurs still haven't found an answer for Harris, so I expect him to have an even more important role in the offense.

I think the Mavs win it convincingly, but I won't know until I get my Pre-Game Feel. It happens before every game and it tells me which team will win or lose.

Terry is one of the Mavs best players. Yes Harris has been good but he is still more of a role player. And Stackhouse has played decent but not enough to compensate for the loss of Terry. It's a huge loss for them. If they do end up winning it will be a close game.

The whole Terry thing is dumb because he said he was trying to pull his hand up to call a timeout, but whatever, hopefully the Mavs respond with some fury and tear the Spurs apart tommorow night.

i know, the commentator called out 62 percent for the TEAM at one point. and Brand had 75 percent for a whiel there. i didn't like Barbosa at first, but the guy hustles, he shoots well, and he's fast as hell. i'm liking the Suns a whole lot more after watching them these past two series. what's with Marion's shot? it looks like he tries to get it off as fast as possible, like there's some defender running directly at him, but he does it for every shot, even free throws. it's so quick too.

Stackhouse has been playing extremely well in this series. Sure, losing Terry is a blow, but the Mavs guards are just going to have to suck it up and play some extended minutes tonight.

Dirk is also going to have to come up bigger offensively, too.

I hope they start Stack and he goes crazy. I'm SO sick of the Spurs and their fans continually bitching EVERY time a whistle is blown. Ginobli REALLY pisses me off, he's the worst flopper I've ever seen play the game, even worse then Divac.

They could throw a Maverick to the floor and when a whistle is blown they look stunned as to why they got called for a foul.

Marion has always had that shot. It's ugly as hell, but he gets the ball in the basket and that's all that matters.

Two of the games Stack has only scored 10. He had a few good games in there to but I wouldnt say he is playing extremely well. Mavs offense is a lot diffrence without Terry in there. I think it will affect every player.

Pistons barely defeat Lebron and stretch it to another game. I'm sure game 7 is going to be a hell of a roller coaster ride just like the Mavs game right now.

The Cavs should have won that, but they couldn't get a defensive rebound at the end of the game.

Also, my Pre-Game Feel tells me the Mavs win by at least 10.

Kind of like how the Pistons should have won the game before but they couldn't get a defensive rebound the entire game.

Pistons got lucky. After a win like that I think all the advantage does go to the Pistons though. All those offensive rebounds at the end the Cavs know they let that game get away. And why didn't Lebron either call a timeout or shoot a 3??
