So I finally got my Search Bot to only send me emails about freeware games that have no spyware, toolbars or require purchase....it just belched a mother load of games I never heard of....at first glance they seems too awesome to be real.

For those of you that never used it before try www.searchbot.com - It's free and a great way to save time on the internet looking for your interest. When it finds what you want at the amount you want it (I do 20 finds per email) you then get an email with the links to what you been looking for.

*shakes his head* Crazy and awesome little widget. I mean I knew it was awesome before but....GOD DAMN!

Gore: Ultimate Soldier is a first-person shooter video game for Microsoft Windows, released on June 5, 2002. It was published by DreamCatcher Games and developed by 4D Rulers.

The player's ability to move quickly and jump high is affected by the stamina system.

Instead of protecting the entire player universally, Gore's armor only protects specific areas of the body and must be destroyed before damage can be done again to the person in that area.

There are five classes on each team: Light Infantry, Medium Infantry, Heavy Infantry, Snipers, and Mechanized Infantry, as well as the VIP class used only in Tactical modes. However, instead of each team having mirrored skills and appearances, each class has their own distinctive characteristics, including different abilities and weapons completely different from the other team's .

Multiplayer game types are:

* Deathmatch
* Team Deathmatch
* Capture the Flag
* Tactical
* Extermination
* Assault
* Escape and Infiltration
* Co-operative
* Duel

On the 4th of July 2008 Gore: Special Edition was released free to the public. The special edition includes graphical and gameplay tweaks, and an automatic patch updater.

Shooter/Horizontal
Single Player - Yes

Theme: Science Fiction

ProtoThunder Alpha is a 2D game (with little 3D showing here and there) horizontal shoot'em up, like Gradius and R-Type. It takes some limitations of older systems like Nintendo and Master System and creates it's entire aesthetics based on this, making use of higher resolutions and general modern software. In addition of using classic hardware as inspiration, the game also borrows some concepts from the ones that defined the genre and adds fresh ideas, aiming for enjoyment of both retrogamers and the new generation. Speaking of retrogamers, they will surely find homages to classic tittles.

Open Sonic is a free open-source game based on the "Sonic the Hedgehog" universe. It introduces a different style of gameplay called cooperative play, in which it's possible to control 3 characters simultaneously. Unlike most similar games, Open Sonic provides a greater level of interaction between the player and the levels. It's more than just a jump'n'run; the user must come up with some strategy in order to get through the levels.

Open Sonic is available for Windows and Linux. The latest release is 0.1.2 (July 23rd, 2009). Main features:

* No installation is required + small download
* Sonic-style physics (360° movement engine)

CrimeCraft, holy crap I've heard a bunch about this game. Currently downloading it, and would post my thoughts about it after a couple of rounds.

I've noticed that the monthly fees were a bit reasonable ($5 for basic, $10 for "premium"), and seeing that the free version is a glorified trial, but I'll give it a go nonetheless.

There's something absolutely charming about Deirdra Kiai's The Play. Filled with a surprisingly endearing cast, The Play's a light-hearted vignette centered around the dress rehearsal from hell. Well, not exactly but close enough. In this hyperlink-based work of interactive fiction, you'll play as Ainsley Morgan Warrington, the stage director of Nothing's Fair in Art, Love Or War.

Faced with the possibility of never being able to work in your beloved field again, you'll have to ensure that the play turns out brilliantly. This obviously, isn't going to be easy. For one, you don't have a leading lady. You have, instead, an opinionated bit actress serving as her last-minute replacement. You also have less-than-perfect props, a grouch, an inept comedian and a long-suffering stage manager in the mix. Things couldn't possibly get worse, right?

Wrong. Things do get worse. Granted, it's your prerogative as to how much worse they get but they do, nonetheless, get worse. Lines will find themselves being forgotten. Arguments will ignite. It's up to you to ensure that the show does go on. You'll just have to stop giggling first. Funny and all-too-human, The Play's rather easy to empathize with. We'll all suffered through something just as exasperating, after all. - IndieGames.com

Defend the Earth from a huge battleship in this classic, bullet-hell shooter, akin to such games as R-Type and Gradius. Beware however, as the enemy will change its tactics depending on its arsenal's effectiveness in battle, focusing its firepower on what actually works!

CALCULATING, RUTHLESS ENEMY!
The enemy will determine the rate of effectiveness for each of its weapons, and focus its power on the ones that are the most effective against you. With its vast arsenal of firepower, eventually it will find a way to take you down!

CHOOSE WISELY!
After each round you will get to choose one of five powerups, to upgrade speed, health, or one of your three weapons. Choose wisely however, as while you get stronger for each round, so does your enemy. Choosing the right powerup is crucial if you want to last a few more rounds!

Gauge is a score-based arcade game in which only one button is used to play. The objective here is to tap the space key repeatedly and keep the moving bar between two red areas, since touching them will cause you to lose a life.

The closer you can get your bar to the left or right edge of the gauge, the more points you score as time passes. This introduces an element of risk to each play session, because the only way you can do well in the game is by attempting something dangerous for an extended period of time. - IndieGames.com

When the adventure of Final Fantasy 7 had finished, some people wanted more; like with most RPG's it never finishes and you wonder ‘gee I wonder what would happen after the game. Maybe so and so, then they strike down the enemy, break into people's houses, and then…’ Well something along those lines, more or less. This case though we have a fan made game that takes place after the events of Final Fantasy 7. Much has happened since the defeat of Sephiroth but soon a lot will change. A well written story, complete with the Final Fantasy trademark sounds and characters from 7 and overall just a fun game, all wrapped into one in Final Fantasy 7: Dark Cloud.

Can You Run It?

34s5u9t.jpg

What it does

This site provides a One-Click solution that looks at your computer's hardware and system software to determine whether or not your current system can run a product. Each of your computer's components is evaluated to see how well it meets the minimum and recommended requirements for specific products. Recommendations are made on how to update or upgrade each component which does not meet the listed requirements. Sometimes, a simple, free software download is all that is needed. Sometimes you'll find that you need a different video card to fully experience what the game has to offer.

http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/

Megazell's Comment - This website is ideal for those of you with current rigs that may need a small change or upgrade to play the game of your desire. Currently, the list only covers commercials games. When building new rigs or check out rigs that are donate to the center this site saves me a lot of time. Don't just rely on it by itself sometimes another review of the game or product you are looking for is needed to get a better overview of your options

JoyToKey

This software is a keyboard emulator for joysticks.
It converts joystick input into keyboard input (and mouse input).

Use it when you want to control an application with joysticks that doesn't support joystick input. If you wish, you can control even Word, Excel, etc. with joysticks!

Megazell's Comment - Sometimes I take for granted all the little programs I dl and have installed to make PC gaming easier. This is such a program. I been using this one and variations of it for years. It helps a lot when you have games that should have gamepad support but don't. Must have for all PC gamers.

Ambush In Sector 9
Do you remember the classics? The games that kept you popping quarters into those arcade machines to see if you can get just a weeee bit more than that one guy who some how got 1,000,001 points?

This is one those quarter swallowing devils. You are a space pilot in the middle of the void just a cruising along, and next thing you know BAM! AMBUSH!

Return to Sector 9
Return to Sector 9 is the long awaited sequel to Ambush in Sector 9. Featuring 9 game modes, 15 ships to pilot, plenty of weaponry, and plenty of aliens to use it on. This is arcade action at its best!

Test your skills to the max. Each of the 15 ships has its own special weapon. Once you have unlocked the ships and their weapons (and maybe a few alternative paint jobs) through achievements, learn which game modes they're best suited to. Submit your scores to the online high score charts to see how you compare with the rest of the world!

Megazell's Comment - Great little game. As you play you unlock other games, modes, skins and trashing talking achievements that all can see online.
Hey Meg, what is the best free MMORPG on the list?
IMO?

It's between 4 games for me - Dungeon & Dragons Online, Valkyrie Sky, CrimeCraft and ArchLord.

DDO - Is a classic fantasy MMORPG with many many great features. The quest are great, the storyline is deep and the loot drops are very satisfying. Here is what I mean, in the game you start off with only the ability to lvl from 1 to 4...but as you play loot drops. Sometimes the loot unlocks things for your account like more content. There will still be areas you will have to pay to get into but you can go into your settings and take them off your map so that you never see them and still complete all the major arcs in the game. The raids are fun and challenging.

Valkyrie Sky is a weird little MMORPG where your combat is done in the format of a top down shooter. Big plus in my book :)

CrimeCraft is a suave shooter MMORPG that has great PVP.

ArchLord is also another classic Fantasy MMORPG but it's PVP means something. When you do PVP there is a chance during an event where you can become and ArchLord until the next event...Give you tremendous perks. People and groups will pay your tribute just to have you in their teams or groups and for that time you can play as a king :)

Hopes that helped but try them all if you can, If I posted it - It had something good in it for someone.

Thanks, i was trying to decide between D&D and Perfect World.

Probably play one until I get tired of it then try the other, Thanks for the posts!!!

BTW--http://mmohut.com has a bunch of free MMO stuff, reviews and screens, etc.

Yep, I use them quite often. You will find many of my screenshots and vids from their list...the only problem I have with them is that they do not update their info on the games. Many of the game info is outdated, dead or no longer free and they don't find out til someone emails them about.

It's same with me though because I don't look back much on the MMORPGs...I play then move on. Never have the time to play them out. I did spend a lot of time in 'City Of Heroes.'

King's Quest is an adventure game series made by the American computer game company Sierra Entertainment. It is widely considered the classic series of the golden era of adventure games and primarily built the reputation of the company following the success of the first installment. Roberta Williams, co-founder and former co-owner of Sierra, designed all of the King's Quest games. The concept of the King's Quest series was derived from ideas first established in Wizard and the Princess (Adventure in Serenia). The game's story and setting is a prequel to the series. The backstory for the IBM version was setup as a sequel to the original Apple version. The game versions followed the exploits of unnamed heroes known only as the "wanderers". The game's connection to the King's Quest series lead to its inclusion as one of the King's Quest trivia questions. The fifth King's Quest game marked a return to Serenia, the land first seen during the game. The game's backstory was further tied into the King's Quest history through The King's Quest Companion

The King's Quest series chronicles the saga of the royal family of the Kingdom of Daventry through their various trials and adventures. The story takes place over two generations and across many lands, including Daventry, Kolyma, Llewdor, Tamir, Serenia, Eldritch, Etheria and the Land of the Green Isles.
