Just watched the MG Saga 2 disc and let me just say... I hope the guy doing the voiceover isn't involved in any way with MGS4. What a ridiculous reading.
It's cool having the trailers all on one disc, at least. It would have been nice to have them in HD, but they probably would have had to charge for it if it had been on blu-ray. I wouldn't be surprised if the trailers ended up on the LE bonus disc, anyway.
Oddly enough it doesn't have all the trailers. The Saga 1 disc has one I think that isn't on Saga 2. I agree, the narrator is a total douche, he reminds me of J. Peterman from Seinfeld.
Saga 1 was a much better produced disc that was actually interesting to watch.

Actually, now that you reminded me, I was disappointed that they didn't lead off with the "this is no FPS, this is MGS!" trailer. That part has always been one of my favorites just because of how corny and Kojima-esque it is. I forget if that's on Saga 1 like you mentioned.
Sweet... when you registered was there an option to choose the "mgs online beta"? I registered and everything, will this be my online name? Pretty sweet if it is...
The big surprised for the PS Blog today is that mondays will be Metal Gear Mondays, weekly blog post every Monday about MGS4 and MGO.
The gist of today's post:
-The Konami ID will be used for some of the community things they have planned for the site while the game ID is your MGO username.
-Beta players get to create one character and assign four skills to that character to level up as they play.
-The beta features two maps: Blood Bath and Groznyj Grad.
-The beta will feature four gameplay modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Annex Mission, and Capture Mission.
-The weapons and items that the beta features:
-Surprises will be added to the beta as it progresses.
-There will be opportunities to get beta codes throughout the week from Konami, like the one above, so keep an eye out for that if you didn't get the Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD.

Sleep claymores sound like an interesting tool.
OOO I didnt realize how close the beta was to beginning. If anybody needs a beta key, pm me. I'll check tonight and send it out then.
Though I from what I heard ya can just register at the konami site? Well I dont know but if ya need it contact me and I'll give out to someone at random.
"cluster" of online ID's was the correct way to describe this.. annoying as hell, even both ID's couldn't be the same. BLAH registering took awhile b/c the site was so slow
After looking over the internet, it sees some people have 12-digit codes and 9-digit codes. I have a 9 digit code...and it doesn't work. Anyone have an extra code?

I contacted the email address on the code slip (it's like or soething like that) earlier today. If I don't hear a response in a couple of hours, I'm going to go to Gamestop and see if they have any more of the DVD's.
Hey, I picked up the pre-order disc, but I just wanted it for the Saga disc. I don't even have a PS3. So, if anyone wants my beta code, PM me. I've only got the one, so first come, first serve. Code is gone.
I heard that some people that got their code off the konami site are getting rejection letters.
I still have my code if anybody needs one.
Send a pm if interest and think of me when ya use that catapult!
Okay...heres a potentially stupid question...is MGO going to be a PSN download, come with MGS4 or be a seperate game release?
MGO is going to come with MGS4, in "starter pack" form.
Then from there they will be offering new content via the PSN.
And there are rumors that the game might be sold as a stand alone way down the road on a BD with the starter pack and PSN content.
So for right now, if you want to play MGO you need to buy MGS4.

Why the would you do that? READ THE PAPER SLIP
It says you won't be able to download until the 17th!!!!
the 9 digit is on the paper slip that came with SAGA Vol.2
12 or 11 is from konami!!!
Just chill out until the 17th which would be midnight TONIGHT and download it then.....
Just chill out until the 17th which would be midnight TONIGHT and download it then.....
It's already the 17th in Japan...
Had no problem with it this morning. Used a 12 digit code from the DVD I got from Gamestop. Now if only I could register on Konami's currently swamped website.
There's already a new update to D/L LOL Ver 1.01
two options to d/l via HTTP or peer2peer like torrents... couldn't get the HTTP to start d/l though.. will try again here.
okay it's d/l via P2P similarly to bittorrents.. not sure how big it is, shows 1% d/l at ~90KB/s so it much be kind of big
I'm gettin pix happy... shitty pic
an update is needed over the JUST downloaded beta from PSN (ver 1.00).. the beta allows you to d/l the update via two methods..
HTTP as in online site
or P2P as in bit torrents. As you d/l you upload. This is ver. 1.01 update.. surprised there's already an update and it's not released HAHA
Probable because there Might have been a CLOSED beta from inside Konami!!!
