That registration site is by far the most discombobulated, fucked up, piece of shit, form I have ever attempted in my entire life on the world wide web of internets!!! I give up. I got a beta code from a nice guy on here, but can't fucking use it, morons.

Yeah...I did that, twice, and still no response. Good thing I managed to get another code from someone else, otherwise I'd be SOL.

Please tell me it won't be this complicated for the actual Metal Gear Online game. If it is...I ain't playing it.

Thanks for clarification. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one getting that particular message. I tend to have these problems with getting PS3 games online, so I'm glad MGO is working.
 
I FINALLY got an account made but can't get a confirmation email-- the first time it gave me the "confirmation sent!" web page but at the very bottom said "Unable to send e-mail.". I finally got logged in and asked it to re-send, and after 5-10 tried it finally said it did resend, and I didn't see any errors floating around the page, but I haven't gotten an email.

How long does it take?

(... and people complain about friend codes... ;) )

Yeah, all you can do by trying to sign in right now is set your ID/password for auto-login for when it does start.

You know, part of being a beta is to stress test the servers. These problems are all intentional to see what their capacity is and to see what they need to do to iron the problems out. A beta isn't just a "woo hoo! I get to play early!" thing.
 
Should we be listing our Game ID's? We probably can't find each other by PSN name, and I guess character name is possible, but unlikely. Either way, I'm 'creidbalto'.

I'm not sure how they're handling it, like if the game ID's your account name with the character name being your in-game name, so we may just wait until Monday to see what they're doing with that.
 
I think I finally got it, but after all that I can't remember what my password for my Game ID was.

So, hopefully the mechanism for retrieving your passwords is better than the one for registering ..

I don't believe you actually need to confirm the email to play. I think it's just for purchasing stuff. It should be sent immediately though.

It worked for me. I emailed them yesterday afternoon and it was in my inbox just now less than 24 hours later. I almost deleted it too since for some reason my school email address gets mountains of spam and the subject line was the beta code, making it look like random junk mail. Luckily I looked at the from section and saw the MGO Beta Support before I did. So for those waiting, watch out for random letters and numbers in the subject field.
 
I finally got fucking though! I got the e-mail confirmation and am now finally all set up! I left the ps3 on overnight to finish the update. This shit is crazy, it better be worth it...
 
This is the worst registration/verification process in the whole fucking world. Why the hell is it not enough to have a beta code and a PSN account? fuck you Konami and fuck your stupid beta.
 
Ouch. Not off to a good start.

I finally got mine this morning, but it sure wasn't a good experience. Sure hope the game servers can better handle the pressure.
 
I was finally able to register using this method:
ok guys i found this on www.playps3.co.uk so im just going to copy and paste what they tell you what to do and it works like a charm.



* You need Firefox
* Goto Tools Add ons, Get Extensions
* Find the AutoFormer add on and install it and restart the browser
* goto https://id.konami.net and click register (Blue button on the left) - might take a while but keep trying
* Enter your date of birth and go to edit in Firefox menu and find AutoFormer, click Save all fields - this will now save you entering the DOB again if you need to come back to this stage
* click next
* Wait until the terms show before clicking next again
* fill out the entire form carefully, don't rush you have all the time in the world. Make sure you don't use capitals in username, and make sure game id password is all numbers. Make sure phone number and postcode have no spaces
* now before clicking next click edit again and AutoFormer>save all fields
* Click next, it'll probably fail due to time taken to complete the form. Don't worry
* Start again, this time your DOB should be auto inserted click next to terms, click next to form, click next to confirmation click next and you're done - SIMPLE!!!

Anyone use have a slow update? I'm trying to update to 1.01 and it's crawling along crazy slow, regardless of method I use.

Basically, Konami just underestimated traffic, that's all.

the game comes out in June, it's a bit late to do a meaningful beta. the Proper one was already done in JP.

Either way even though it's beta, you can see the direction they're trying to go with this w/ konami id and the incompetency of distributing beta keys that don't work.

And Mana Knight, it isn't underestimating traffic, it's traditional Konami stupidity.
 
This is such a fucking joke. Way to screw up one of the easiest things possible Konami. How can someone actually fill out the forms without it timing out?
 
Wow I don't even want to start this mess. I tried downloading the patch and it was soooo slow. Why are they not just using the PSN names? Is it going to be like this when the real game comes out?
 
Actually, some think it starts at 12am Japan time, meaning 10am tomorrow for NA.

Thank goodness I got a code from someone else, because I haven't received a word back on my incorrect code in nearly 3 days. I'm all set for Monday...man, this is gonna be a mess.

Hopefully, HOPEFULLY the final version uses PSN.

tried twice, with diff names and emails. both times it tells me that the email is in use by another account, so it can't send confirmation. Who did the website? Hideo's kid? fuck it, I'll just wait.

I managed to do it when they announced it luckily. It took me 4 times though...and at 3am in the morning.
 
holy crap i cant believe it took 7 hours to download from p2p and the worst part is there's a link saying http download but if you click it it simply doesnt work
and 2nd i finally got the konami and game id to work , this game better be a good one :bomb:

Mana, Konami should know exactly how much traffic they should have at most, because they know exactly how many beta codes they gave out.

That doesnt account for all the peeps in Europe, who don't even need a beta code. Plus all the US people who created/used a UK or JP account to access the beta. More people probably tried to work around it than the amount of legit beta keys they gave out..
