All right, I added MGO to the list of the CAG PSN Gaming Group: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3256553&postcount=3

Whatever day/time Frisky decides to put it on (except for Warhawk main time, CoD4 main time, and GTAIV main time), MGO will get (actually, I may put it above the games I just listed).

It's up to everyone, but I think Thursday this week would be good, since the night is pretty much open (Burnout Paradise isn't really being played right now, but will come back to it later).

I did try joining the clan, just waiting on getting accepted.
 
I am having trouble with CQC and I am finding the online training less than informative. Is there a written guide somewhere that may be able to help me?
 
I'd rather MGO not be Thursdays, it's really the worst night of the week for me. Since UT3 hasn't started surely it could be moved. Though I guess we'll be playing more than one night a week for now since there's only 12 days left of beta.

CQC has zero range, you have to be on top of someone to use it. Because you're fighing two teams alone, you don't CQC someone unless they already see you AND they're already close to you. If you do it from far away, and even if you're good at it, an average level player will drill you.

If you're in a hall way, that's a good time to grab them, or popping out of corners or up from the ground is okay, too but still risky. Snake's throwdown is an instant knockout though and that's the only CQC move you should be using. If it's a group clumped together, you might get lucky with the stun knife and hit all of them at once.

What you want to do is shoot people to knock them out. It takes 4 shots of the handgun to knock them out, 1-2 of the sniper rifle. As long as you don't move you'll be mostly invisible. Just lay there and shoot people as they run over you. Be careful though, people can still see you (I don't know what it looks like since I've never seen a Snake player shoot laying down), but I've been killed while doing that.

If you are aiming, then press back and X you'll just to a very short hop backwards while still keeping your aim forward, perfect to get just out of reach of a CQC grab or stun knife.

Yup, and if they try to grab or stun you, they'll be stuck in an animation while you drill them. I kill a lot of CQC guys this way.

If it's the latter, it's probably a router issue.

I ran into him yesterday while he was shooting. All you can see is Snake's shadow on the ground.
 
Well I played for like 2 straight hours on the new sneaking mode. I was never picked as snake though which sucks. I did get to be Mk.II and that was straight cash right there.

Mk.II is the bomb. Gotta love going up to people, missing the shock, them turning around, looking around asking "What the hell?", stare right at you, turn around, and proceed to be shocked by you. Causes me to laugh every time.

Haha yeah that was me the first time I encountered Mk. II. I finally wised up the second time and went all Rambo on its robot ass when it missed zapping me. Fun times.

We had one the first night the beta was out then the one that's in the title of the thread. I think we'll do one tomorrow and focus more on Sneaking Missions.
 
Sweet. Finally got to play as Snake tonight. Got my ass kicked, sure, but it's a lot of fun running around as him. Saw the Mk.II for the first time too. Nasty little thing found me under a crate and just kept shocking me for kicks.
 
For the first time I got the "stick up" from Snake in a game. I was running and out of no where my guy had an exclamation point above his head, and put his hands behind his head. Then I saw Snake take the camo off. That was pretty awesome. I wonder if you could do the testicle grab knock out. Beyond that- I suck with the tranq guns-Mosin and the pistol.

I would be playing but I work nights so it's mainly on weekends w/CAG's for me. Assuming I have nothing planned that night. I did get a chance to play w/some of you all though this past Sat. Even though I'm still a noob. It was fun.
 
Got to play as Snake and MkII last night. It was kind of tough as Snake because it was a small game in Blood Bath where the teams didn't seem to really care about finding me. Had a LOT of fun playing as MkII, because you can outrun everyone, and hitting them is pretty easy. It's a shame I couldn't really help Snake much, I was trying to defend him to make the game go on longer but it wasn't really working.

Also, taking out Snake because you're the only one who can see him because you have the Night Vision Goggles is satisfying.
 
Are you guys able to use a blutooth headset during gameplay? I'm not sure if I've got a setting wrong or what. Seems like I can only hear other players before the match begins. If there's a CAG game going on tonight, I am so in!

I don't think so. I play a lot and I rarely see more than 5 people from the CAG clan online and this was before GTA4 came out.

I didn't know you could see Snake with those, but I find it too difficult to play in that vision mode. Blood Bath is the toughest map for Snake because it's so small. The best place to catch people on that map is the main underground tunnel, it gets relatively light foot traffic so knocking people out and getting dog tags is easier, still hard as hell though.
 
I usually pop on once or twice a day.I always check the clan roster first to jump into a game with anyone who's already on. Actually, I think I'll get on now and play. Also, saw/killed snake for the first time last night!
 
I was playing for a few hours yesterday and I only saw 2 people from the clan online. I have to work tonight, but I'll try and make it back for the CAG game.

I'll try to join in on the game tonight (if I can find the server). I only played one game so far and I got murdered but I'd rather play online with CAGs than with random people haha.

It's the Vamp server, it's usually underpopulated. If you're in the clan, you can also go to the clan roster, see who's online and automatically go to their game.
 
I finally got to play MGO last night.
Took a little bit to get used to the controls, pace.
But I really like it!

I enjoy sniping in this one more than seeking out.
Got more kills than deaths after my first two matches.

Killing a guy after putting him to sleep was fun.
