Interesting.

Another question,
is there anything different with beating the bosses by depleting their psyche or life bar? Is there something different about defeating the women after or before everything goes all white? I do know about the little camera trick, but is there anything else special?
I'd rather ask here than look it up online, I'm still worried about stuff being spoiled since I haven't finished the game yet.
 
Tranqing the bosses gives you a doll which can be used to unlock a secret weapon. Tranqing the beauties after the boss fight gives you their face camo.

Ahh ok. I did tranq the first boss but I don't think I ever got a doll, but I did get both face camos so far, thanks. I would've tranq'd raven, but that was going so slow I just said "what the hell" and shot her up, and even that took forever :/

This game was perfect. I know a lot of people were disappointed, I think a part of that is of blame for expectations that were unrealistic. People just had a habit of "imagining" what they thought you could do in the game, without realizing the limitations of time/production/costs.

For what I expected, this game went totally beyond that and more.

It had me near tears in so many different scenes.
When Raiden almost died and as he was being crushed by Arsenal gear, you hear his conversation with Rose about meeting and King Kong. Then the epilogue and debriefing where Snake meets Big Boss again.

Thanks, I try to mix it up a bit so it doesn't get too old with the same maps and matches.

Damn espy is better ninja than he was in the beta, he kept popping out of nowhere and getting me. So I had to start shooting every box I saw for fear of him.

A lot of people weren't too thrilled with the Big Boss appearance, but I absolutely loved it. Besides the opportunity to finally see and hear older Big Boss, I just thought there were so many good quotes and shots in that scene. My favorite parts where...

1) just as Big Boss was saying, "Their era of folly is over." The music is great, the flowers are blowing in the wind behind him, and the camera just pans beautifully.

2) when he is talking about the world being born from zero. The music begins extremely softly and builds up until he finally ends Zero's life.

Haha, I was wondering "How did he know I was in that box" each time you killed me. My own fear campaign worked against me.
 
for gettin the beauties to pose for you, after the 3 minutes in the whiteroom are up, is it an automatic stamina kill? I didn't see whether the bar went down or not, and I haven't ended the act yet lol
 
I forgot to include Substance for Xbox, which I do have, but for some reason just completely blanked on including it in the picture, lol. I have all the guides released for every game except Portable Ops, the Limited Edition one for Snake Eater, and the Substance guide for Xbox.

I have the LE guide for Snake Eater, it's actually not bad.
 
as a question about the clan logo. Do we need to use the tools in mgo, or can we upload a better picture file? Just curious because in the logo edit menu there is an option to upload.

I doubt that it wasn't done in the tool in MGO. the tool is really nice. The logo I made for our clan was suppose to be simple anyway... to mainly just give an idea of what CAG is about.
 
Ugh...what a fucking nightmare. It's been 8 days and still no preordered copy. Anybody ever have that shit happen where UPS has something marked as "Billing information received" but hasn't shipped yet? What could be causing that?

CALL ME weird, but do you guys feel attached to the characters in this game? I mean, I for one, grew up playing Metal Gear. I always bought them day one and took so much time going through the game and always on the hardest setting. I just find as I get to ACT 5 and I know its going to end soon that I feel sad :( Almost like your losing a childhood friend..... man that sounds fucked up, hopefully that is the booze talking at 4 am haha

Seriously though, I know someone else in this forum feels the same.
 
shit..just got through act 2 of my no alert/no kill run....I am killing 1 person! I don't know who it is though. Did the car chase twice already and tried to be careful about it.

All I can think of is, it's either that I
let the 3 minute timer run out during the beauty photo shoot
, or while
tracking Naomi
, I tranq'd a guy and he fell right into a nearby claymore that was already there... Guess I'm gonna have to play from the beauty part again...
 
How do you know it wasn't done with the emblem tool, V? There were some really elaborate ones from NeoGAF and others during the beta, along with some nice stock ones that KP offered, so it's definitely capable of some impressive work.
 
I think MGO will get a major expansion pack next month. Maybe 6 maps for $15. I hope a couple of them are from Act 2 and Act 4. Especially Act 4. That would be awesome.

i guess it must have been done in the tool. I just didn't think anyone would take that much time to reproduce that image or that the tool was able to do it.

if there's a request for a clan emblem based off a pic, I can do it. I use to do alot of animal crossing requests for some people.
 
I made my clan emblem look like Boo 2. Looks really cool, I just wish the emblems were bigger. It sucks puttin' work into an emblem when you can barely see it. 8-bit and 16-bit characters are really easy though.

I think a lot of people feel the same which is why people keep talking about the plot. Because let's face it, the actual plot of the game is kind of goofy at times, but the characters are what makes the story fun.

I finished the game the other night so I'm coming out of submerged mode and going through old posts, news stories, etc.
I'm so glad I didn't watch that TGS '07 trailer with Rex vs. Ray. That was my absolute favorite part of the game and having it spoiled would have been terrible.
I'll probably play some MGO this weekend.

Rolento, I actually made an emblem based on your $ from the beta, but I never posted it because the beta was finishing up. It's relatively few colors so it shouldn't take too long to put in if you want to use it. I could post the gif when I get home.

Snake did not use CQC until recently was because he had a "personal ban" on it? I think it said it was because they were the "techniques taught by traitors." I thought that was goofy.

That would be very nice. Extremely low visibility. There was a map based in a snowy area in the original MGO. It was one of my favorites.

Yeah, I friggin hate the size of the icon. I put some detail in the clan logo I made and it never shows.

the only way you ever see it bigger is when your teammate holds triangle to salute which makes their info and clan logo larger.
 
I just get the feeling that whatever map packs they put out will be overpriced.

Oh, and I found out that Free Battle does give you points for EXP for leveling. I think it gives you points for skills too, but I'm not sure.
