Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops - Add your MGO Tags to Play with Fellow CAGs
I got the UDP Port thing working for myself here's what I did:

ve been having the same problems as everyone else with the UDP Port situation. You changed your ports to UDP 5730-5733 but you're still not able to host a game, right? Do this, this is what worked for me:

1) Go the PSP Home Menu > Network Settings (Scroll all the way to the LEFT and then DOWN)
2) Infrastructure Mode > Select a Connection (I assume that you already have one setup) and press TRIANGLE to open up the Options.
3) Test Connection
4) Look at the results and find the IP ADDRESS NUMBER. For example it might look something like this: 191.148.2.2 < This is the IP Address directly to the PSP. This is where most of my (and probably your) problems occurred. Write this number down.
5) Go to your ROUTER SETTINGS , usually you get here by typing the above IP number into the Address Bar on your internet browser.

6) Under the part where you change your UDP Port numbers in your Router Settings. Enter in UDP range 5730-5739 and when you have to enter the Private IP enter in the PSP's IP Address!

This should now make it work.

The problem I had, like many of you I assume, was that I was using the wrong last digit in the Private IP after I entered in the correct UDP ports. Before I was entering in "1xx.xx.xxx.2.1" when the PSP IP shows after a Test Connection that the proper IP ends with a "2" digit. By entering in the correct PSP IP number and opening the correct UDP ports you should now be able to host a game!

This is what worked for me, hopefully it will for you!
i followed exactly like u said. but its not working for me.

EDIT: ok nvm. thank you very much
Anyone?

Apparently the single player must suck if no one plays it.
Single player itself is DEFINITELY worth purchasing the game for. The multiplayer just adds mindless fun

So, in multiplayer games where you can lose your characters to the other person, is it possible to lose the special characters too? (aka null, para-medic, etc )
Got online! I'm Liquid Cake.
u still on??

Ima log on in like 10 minutes.

if there's no cag room, I'll keep 1 up for like 10 minutes,

server snake password "cag" of course
It's Not Fair, its not FAIR!!

Why does poor Johnny have to die? He was the coolest. DAMN YOU GENE!!
yeah
On my first play through I had johnny all the way and used him on a regular basis... after he died, well, I wasn't happy... he was my favorite soldier.

johnny as in jonathan?
yep

as for cunningham, someone found the password to unlock him, so I can save myself a trip... It's:

JUNKER

so apparently I discovered you can use any character other than snake or jonathan on cyber survival,

this REALLY upsets me as I am on a winning streak rite now,

and my high effort strategy will soon be shot down by no skill whatsoever...

I'm also well on the road towards obtaining cunningham,

but now that the password's been revealed

I think I may as well put the effort into eva/sokolov/ocelot instead...

also playing RC is no fun when you're up against a team of snakes and nulls...

for one, headshots don't instant kill them if their HP is high enough,

secondly you cannot make them POW when u kill them.

I hope konami fixes these issues...

Anyone know?
Anyone know?
No, you don't lose them. They just go into the ICU, like if they die in the single player game.

Thanks for the password, Rolento!

Hmm... "JUNKER" is that a reference to Snatcher? :D
now I want my Gene and Cambell passwords... the two guys I need the most (and probably the last secret characters I need).
Campell unlockable, cool.

Beat the game last night an LOVED it. Hope they make a sequel or something
like that.
Since it didn't explain how he turned against his country with FoxHound. JONATHAN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW What Code Name did you guys get at the end of the Game?

I got.......................................................................bunny....................................

I got the codename for the froggy thing.. then on my second play I got "Scorpion" which was nice :) only 3 kills :)

as for sequals, the devs said that if the game has a good response and sells well that sequals will happen to continue the story. so yes, sequals are on the way. on a second note a second digitial graphic novel is in the works which makes me happy since I loved the first.

Agreed DGN is amazing. They already have the first issues of the second one published in comic form, can't wait until they complete the thing into DGN.

Password for Sokolov:

SaturnV

also, there's a rumor that Solid Snake (MGS1) is playable... I would think so since all they need to do is use the MGA1 model of snake. What I wish for though is for a model of the MGA2 snake, since that's my favorite Snake outfit ever (not to mention he's a
clone of snake
)

Crap ! I thought the game auto saved. I just got my first recruit too, now I gotta start over. At least I wasn't too far in.
Crap ! I thought the game auto saved. I just got my first recruit too, now I gotta start over. At least I wasn't too far in.
u kno what's dope???

playing real combat and having all your guys die,

then don't save!!

when u restart they're all there where u left them!!

not to mention you will still get your points for ranking.

the only downfall to this is any prisoners you captures during RC will not be saved as well,

so in this situation u really gotta decide which one u wanna do.

Is it possible to get/find some of these (I'm mostly thinking Ocelot and EVA) on your first play through? I don't know if I'll want to play through a second time (or, at least, I won't have the time in the near future).

! TRAUMER is GAKO, Wow are you serious!!!

1+2-3 is ZERO
^
Funny.

BTW i already have NULL is it possible to get him again with the password?

I've got a quick question about recruiting Gene. I'm pretty much at the end of my first playthrough, and I know I haven't recruited 200 soldiers. So, do I need to stamina kill Gene on this playthrough, or on the next one when my total # of recruits will reach 200?

in regards to that, I was considering obtaining gene "in spirit"

i.e., passwording him but still stamina killing him

however now I think it'd be best to not stamina kill him,

that way I can confirm whether the 200 recruits are cumulative or not.

in unrelated news, playing with lag is too brutal!!

I have bittorrent running and tried to play RC,

and none of my shots hit!! not to mention dudes start teleporting everywhere

and I die all over the place!!

I racked up 10 deaths... ugh!!

Well I decided to go ahead and beat Gene and quit afterwards so I could see how far away I was. Only captured 101 soldiers, I thought I was a lot closer than that. Anyone know the quickest way to pick up recruits? So far the only way I've found is on Western Wilderness. I'll trigger an alert and then run into the prison cell on the bottom floor. Ill usually be able to get about 5-6 guys stunned down there. Afterwards I'll just pull them close to the NE corner of the room where there's a hiding spot and grab them all at once.

Anyone know of a better way?

Edit: And I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not (if it is I apologize) but soldiers recruited via Access Point Scan do count toward your # of recruits at the end. I figured I would test it out so I walked around my block and was able to pick up 3 new soldiers (one with an S in Med, woot!) and when I went back and beat Gene again, I finished with 104 instead of 101.

Yes they do count....i think

BTW is true you can "Train" your soldiers (i.e. increases the HP and Stamina of your comrades)?

Ummm, they do count, that's what I said in my post.

And yes you can "train" your soldiers. Each time you deploy a soldier they gain 1 HP and 1 stamina point.

I took my PSP with me and got about 6 new recruits while on the road! I was waiting in line for about 4 hours for a Wii, and luckily there was a hotspot right around there... I was able to play a few games over the internet. :D

wow nice :)

as for cambell, I've realized hes is very unlikely to be playable due to: The loopholes on if you contact him with the codec as him... >_<

plus, his character data is not present in the game, but his model is (ie. for the opening prison scene).

!!! I have just confirmed u do not need to get 200 recruits in a single playthru to get gene.

I got ~150 in both my games, and he was unlocked upon loading up my save from game 3.

I also couldnt get Eva for some reason, thus no Ocelot either...

and all my S ranked soldiers have low hp, and it's too much a chore to bring them up...

I guess that means I'm pretty much done w/ this game now,

but I'll still play online a bit
Each time you deploy a soldier they gain 1 HP and 1 stamina point.
No wonder i couldn't tell if there stats increase..........

Are you guys wondering how great the sequel might be..... I am........:bouncy:
Am I the only one just not feeling this game? I'm trying.
I was the same way at first. I forced myself to keep going and now I love it!

Lets get a CAG game going, I haven't been able to play lately since I just got a Wii and all my attention has been focused on that. :D
