We don't care about the ring. It's just a thing. We don't need things to prove we love each other.
i'm not saying you do, but believe me, when you see that in person, it's tiny and doesn't look good. the stone needs to be thicker than the band. with rings like this, especially from a chain store like zales, you really should go see it in person. pictures are decieving.
it's wee. and by wee i mean small. too small. if you see that in person, it's tiny. and by tiny i mean don't be a cheap bastard.
Before you buy a diamond ring I implore you to watch Blood Diamond. You'll then see how much more awesome you are then those idiots working in the jungles and shit.
Lots of people love iPods. Doesn't change the fact that they suck.
Creative Labs FTW!
Seriously I'm very tempted to get one of those Zens with a part of my tax money. Very nice small player with a nice screen and a very nice easy to use navigation system. 32 gig flash memory based mp3 player FTW!
We don't really care about how it looks. Like I said, it's just a material thing.
if you're going to spend the time/money/effort in doing something, you might as well do it the right way. it's something she'll wear for the rest of her life and you should get something you've seen in person and can say "that's beautiful, it reminds me of her"

Yeah right, i'll spend 5 grand on a ring that she'll end up dropping down the sink or into a lake. No thanks.
Damn, they're making straight to video American Pie movies. I'm gonna make an American Pie movie on a camcorder .. as soon as I get off the phone with Eugene Levy.

I think you can get a smaller diamond in a nice setting and it will look a lot better than a big solitaire.

yes, you can. the first ring he posted was princess cut with the stone being smaller than the band though and it looked cheap. you can get something small/relatively inexpensive and still have it look classy. that one wasn't it.
Well look, she said she doesn't want an expensive one, so why would I buy one? Plus, I don't make a ton of money, so you know, I can't spend a ton.
Plus, I can't shop for rings in person, my hands get sweaty.
just go look through the jewelry stores in the mall and ask questions like "what cut is that" and "how many carats is that". you don't need to do it all formally and seriously. tell the sales person you're just getting idea and to back the off.
Yeah right. Those people are sharks. One followed me through the mall, baggering me to signup for a credit card through their store. I did it with fake info.

Maybe. I'm just saying that the cost isn't everything, which it initially sounded like you were saying it was. I got my wife a beautiful ring with a smaller center diamond with a bunch of small diamonds on each side with a matching wedding band for about $1200 total. She absolutely loves it. I especially think that large diamonds look out of place on a woman with delicate fingers, and my wife is a pianist with the fingers to go with that.
Plume, you're my heir apparent for the "CAG crotchey old er award", y'know.

You should be listening to this, Temp.
Hell, I picked out my engagement ring in about 10 minutes, since I was lucky and found the right diamond and the right ring right off the bat. Sometimes, you get lucky like that. Plus, it's certified by two different organizations, so I know it's good.

that's also more than double the price of what he had posted. the one he posted was, and looked, cheap. the second was much nicer.
