Well, this is off the top of my head, and going on my prior "The Show" experience, but I think square changes batting order and triangle changes position. Using X just allows you to substitute from the bench. In an attempt at coincidental humor here, what is it with people's subconscious desire to not use the square button in this game? Do you guys never throw to 3rd base? lol
As for the camera angle. I've pretty much always used behind the plate for pitching and batting. I think I used the behind the pitcher angle in MLB2K7, but wasn't really fond of it because it made the switch to the fielding cam more disorienting. It looks nice, but being dumped upside down all of a sudden bothered me in terms of gameplay.
