MLB 2010 Discussion Thread

Nice to see the Giants up right now. As long as they win one game (2, 3, 4, or 5), I'll win $5 as a friend thinks the rangers will win 4 games in a row.

He wanted to double or nothing with a second bet, but nah.

Caught Cashman on the radio the other day. He's still talking about he does not a lot of consideration to postseason performances when evaluating a player. Yeah, Cash, you stick to that. You saw how well it worked out with not bringing back Matsui and signing Nick Johnson.

Man, it started off with such a great pitching duel but two forced runs from walks and another 3-0 count here in the 8th? Rangers need to get their bullpen in check or the rest of this series won't even be worth watching.

And that's game. Til Saturday then. . .

Embarrassing. Just absofuckinglutely embarrassing. Nobody can hit. The bullpen can't find the fucking strike zone. No one can manufacture a fucking run.

Where is the team that knocked off the AL East's two best teams? They better show up in Arlington Saturday night, or the trophy is pretty much signed, sealed, and delivered to San Francisco.

I'm kinda starting to get my hopes up now with the Giants winning the series finally, I know there's a lot of baseball left, but it's really starting to feel like this is the year.

$$$$$$.
Yeah, but what does that have to do with you?

Rangers look like crap tonight. this is where the series gets really important. Giants offense can't slow down. Rangers have to hope Lewis and Hunter can carry in to the late innings so BP has less of a chance to blow it.

Man the only player i was really pulling for was Darren O'Day because of his ties with Mets but man has he lost it....but this is what happens, that boy is streaky. He will be great for 2 weeks than straight up awful this series.

But all in all, the Giants look fantastic. outscored the rangers 20-7 in the first two games. Good for a team that was supposed to have an anemic offense.

SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco Giants outfielder Jose Guillen, left off the team's postseason roster, is linked to a federal investigation into shipments of performance-enhancing drugs, The New York Times reported on its website Thursday night.

The story, citing several unidentified lawyers, said federal authorities told Major League Baseball they were looking into shipments of human growth hormone, allegedly sent to Guillen's wife in the Bay Area.
Ruh roh. Couple of them old guys on the Giants ARE lookin pretty spry.

Well, it's hard not to score runs when the entire team is walked with bases loaded lol.

Yup, the Rangers bullpen is really stinking it up against the Giants. It seems like the Giants just start banging in runs when their bullpen goes in, or are extremely patient and let the Rangers 'pen pitch themselves into trouble.

This isn't the team that defeated the Yankees.
Who is this Matt Cain? He was awesome! Yanks should try to sign him instead of Lee!
You have got to be fucking kidding me.

I really do love that Cain's been underrated his whole career.

He's out-pitched Lincecum since mid-09'.

He's been on the short end of scoring runs because, well, the Giants offense sucks.

I'm not knocking him, I know he's good. I was just shocked at how ignorant JoeJohn's statement was. "Wow, Cain looks good! Let's fucking buy him!" Never mind the fact that Cain is under contract until the end of the 2012 season. Worst kind of Yankee fan.

It's crazy how one dimensional the coverage is, nationally, for the West. It's not that bad with any other sport, just MLB seems to be East Coast biased. Most people would be surprised to know that Lincecum isn't the only awesome pitcher on the Giants, prior to the post season at least. If the Giants hold on an win it all, he's got to be considered for MVP, especially if he throws up another no run game.

With that said, I can't wait for the series to be over and off season in full swing. But as long as the next few games aren't blowouts, I'll stay interested. Though, I really hope the Giants don't win, so I don't have to see another LOL predictions thing.

I don't know if it's just me, but something I noticed with Cain. When he first came up (or maybe a little afterwards), he was viewed as this great pitcher with all this hype. Then he was viewed as lackluster (unsure of his WHIP/ERA totals, but I remember losing records). Now that he's pitching well, he seems to be forgotten. Funny how that works out.

I'm with you. I didn't care who won really until the Giants "fans" started posting in here. The Texas fans that post here are way less annoying so I am rooting for them.

I don't believe that for a second, I know I always want the opposing team that knocked my club out of the playoffs to get beat, and beat badly. :D

Colby has been incredible this postseason. Great job by the bullpen for a change in this series, too. Also, what an at-bat by Moreland. He really earned that three run shot.

We got ourselves a series, now.

Sanchez is garbage. I really wish they wouldn't have started him the first game @ Texas.

I'm also worried about Bumgarner. We're probably going to have to win the series @ home.

Colby Lewis was phenomenal. Feliz blew the Giants away too. Glad to see the offense get some production. Hopefully it continues into the following games.

I think Sanchez is quite good, he just had a bad night and got hurt by that excellent at-bat by Moreland.

I wouldn't worry too much about Bumgarner when he is going to be matching up against Hunter.

Well, looks like I didn't miss much watching The Walking Dead. Shut out again? Texas is done. They may win tomorrow under Lee, but I really doubt they'll go on a 3-game winning streak the way they've been playing.
