the best thing for mlb2k11 is I've NEVER seen a baseball game play this smooth/lagless (for the most part) online
I agree on that point. After having suffered through The Show leagues for years, this was easily the smoothest a baseball game has been. I hope they improve on the foundation they've laid next year though because there are still many things that need work.
as close as our games had been in the past I'd have played you over and over and over
Yeah, but I think that's why I was even more mad about it. As I said, I feel like I have to play perfect to beat you, and in that first game, I really felt like I had the upper hand. I was making a conscious effort to switch up my playstyle to try to keep you off balance...and for the most part, it seemed like it was working (even your early runs came on some fielding gaffes that were actually my fault...though I still say fielding flyballs in this game is always an adventure).
But when the game comes down to something that basically wasn't my fault, it just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. If I had no shot at catching that ball, then I would have been crediting you for your valient comeback. But even you had your guys ready to tag up. That play may as well have been a blown call by the umpire because that's the feeling I was left with. It just sucks when good games end on shitty breaks like that.
Anyway, more than anything, it just showed me I'm done with baseball this year. So, if the guy who actually cared more and continued playing got the win, then it probably worked out as it should have anyway. As I said, none of it was your fault either. In a "friendly game", I might have stopped my runner at third and just had the bases loaded with one out. But in a competitive league, it's not fair to ask anybody to do that. Just the way it goes.
