MLB 2K11 CAG League Baseball - Season 2! We Made It! Playoffs! Rd 1 Due by 10/12!
After this bullshit, I started the 2nd game under complete protest. My logic being "Why should I bother playing again if 2K is just going to cheat me out a fucking game anyway?" Redworm used some well placed lying to convince me to play again (sorry, but you're full of shit), when I asked him "If you had been cheated out of a game, would you want to play again?"

as close as our games had been in the past I'd have played you over and over and over
the best thing for mlb2k11 is I've NEVER seen a baseball game play this smooth/lagless (for the most part) online
I agree on that point. After having suffered through The Show leagues for years, this was easily the smoothest a baseball game has been. I hope they improve on the foundation they've laid next year though because there are still many things that need work.
as close as our games had been in the past I'd have played you over and over and over
Yeah, but I think that's why I was even more mad about it. As I said, I feel like I have to play perfect to beat you, and in that first game, I really felt like I had the upper hand. I was making a conscious effort to switch up my playstyle to try to keep you off balance...and for the most part, it seemed like it was working (even your early runs came on some fielding gaffes that were actually my fault...though I still say fielding flyballs in this game is always an adventure).

But when the game comes down to something that basically wasn't my fault, it just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. If I had no shot at catching that ball, then I would have been crediting you for your valient comeback. But even you had your guys ready to tag up. That play may as well have been a blown call by the umpire because that's the feeling I was left with. It just sucks when good games end on shitty breaks like that.

Anyway, more than anything, it just showed me I'm done with baseball this year. So, if the guy who actually cared more and continued playing got the win, then it probably worked out as it should have anyway. As I said, none of it was your fault either. In a "friendly game", I might have stopped my runner at third and just had the bases loaded with one out. But in a competitive league, it's not fair to ask anybody to do that. Just the way it goes.

You can just give the Braves the playoff series. I don't really have any interest in the game anymore. I don't want to hold up the last few games.

It's like nobody wants to play me. :(

I know my schedule was rough the last few weeks, but it does ease up a bit this week and next. Tuesday and Thursday before 3pm EST works and Wednesday after 7pm would be easiest. Also off the weekend.

I don't know if we ever advanced to the World Series, but if we didn't, if you want to advance DarkTower, feel free to do so. Two things are prompting this.
1) it seems as if DarkTower and myself have conflicting schedules as it seems whenever I'm online, he's either offline or playing NHL in a party. The fact I work nights and him being two hours behind me in the timezones iirc doesn't help matters any.

2) Apparently, "my" internet connection went down again last night. While my one roommate went over to the library today to see what was up, apparently it was working fine in the library itself so it sounded to me they weren't inclined to restart their router/modem. To make matters worse, we keep trying to convince our dads and while my dad seems fine with the free solution, Derek's dad is stubborn and doesn't want to pay for internet. Of course, he gets online via his verizon usb hotspot thing anyways so the library being down doesn't affect him. So it seems the only solution is for either myself or Derek to pay for internet and he doesn't have a job (he's only recently turned 16 iirc). And my finances aren't the best either working retail either. And if we're waiting on me to pay for internet, I don't see myself doing so before the end of October. Although I'd rather wait until Janurary as I know hours are going to get cut since I work retail and that always happens. So I fear doing so now could mess me up financially.

Long story short, if anybody gets a free pass, it's better off being him, in part because of my internet situation, as much as I'd hate to "give up" so to speak. Plus, he did beat me both times in season 2 so it wouldn't feel right for me to get the nod over him even though we all know records don't matter in the postseason (2011 Phillies).
no one wants to finish but me :(
Yeah, I hate to see this season go unfinished. I don't even know if it's possible, but I was thinking if neither Jstryke or Darktower was interested in playing, I'd sim the series between their teams, and then I could just control that team to play you. Seems like a waste to get to the last round and run out of gas.

Forgot to post back in here. We don't have our own internet yet (I think we have the equipment, just a matter of getting it installed?) but the library internet came back up the other day (before that I was tethered via my phone which wouldn't work for playing online). Don't know about DarkTower, but I'm still around.

Forgot all about this.

As for 2k12, I think I may pass. As much as I enjoyed the league, A) I tend not to buy sports games in back to back years B) I really need to spend less money on games and work on my backlog.

I'm torn on getting a baseball game this year. Between Madden, NHL, and UFC Undisputed 3 (which comes out next week), I don't know if I even have much interest in playing a baseball game. Not to mention I'm now a dad too...so my time is a lot more limited as well. Unless reviews/community feedback for 2K12 or The Show are just off the charts, I'll most likely pass.

Unless MLB 2k12 has a surprise feature up its sleeve, like say online franchise, I'm picking up The Show. Diamond Dynasty sounds right up my alley.
The MLB/nba 2k12 bundle is too good a deal for me to pass up.
What bundle is this? I am intrigued.

Not bad at all. I am still torn if I should get a baseball game at all, and MLB 2K12 will have to fare well with gamers if I am to get it over The Show.

I think I'm going to wait on both MLB 2K12 and The Show. I loved both franchises' 2011 releases, and as I've been playing those lately, I realized I haven't even scratched the surface of a lot of single player parts. I plan to purchase both 2012 MLB games when they hit $40 or so.
