I say that only half-jokingly because I really feel as if Nintendo has absolutely zero regard for what the American consumer wants.
The "club nintendo" stuff makes me seethe with jealousy. Even stuff I wouldn't play, like "Tingle's Baloon Fight." And the (collector's) cases for the Famicom GBA releases? Bad-ass, and such an incentive would have led to me purchasing the games, instead of getting whatever was leftover in clearance at TRU. Sure, Super Mario Bros and Zelda sold well, but others collected dust, and the entire series was ditched after two sets of releases. How many NES Classics does the US have compared to Japan? That's not so much a product of NoJ *caring* for their customers more, but, rather, different theories of marketing and promotion (which, in the case of NoA, led to $2-5 copies of Bomberman, Xevious, and Metroid).
The VC stuff I can live without, because I know it's temporary. More than anything, I don't care for the "classic" stuff, but I'm more interested in rare titles, old RPGs I never got around to, and imported games (Hagane, Sin and Punishment).
