Those two were clearly not done though. They had both their masks and chest holes yet. A final form will be like Ichigo or (I theorize) Urahara. There will be nothing to distinguish them from any other Shinigami except much more power and maybe a different aura (like B------ noticed in ch166.)
So I just watched the dubbed Naruto for this week...and I'm kind of getting used to their voices...although they are still kind of bothering me. The one thing that really pisses mee off is how damn often Naruto has to say "Believe it!" I really hope they drop this soon...he doesn't need to say it 5-10 times an episode!
His extreme use of "Believe it!" is the best way the dub could come up with a way to translate the Japanese version's overuse of "Dattebayo". So on a whole, it's actually a good thing that he abuses saying "Believe it!" since it keeps it closer to being true to the real version.

I think they could change it up a little bit and still keep the meaning the same. Besides, there are many times when he says "dattebayo" where "believe it" would make absolutely no fucking sense.

THat's because I'm pretty sure there's no real translation for dattebayo, which is why it's never translated in the fansubs. However, they went for a phrase that sort of has the same meaning. So once again, it makes sense.

I know there are some hardcore anime fans here, so maybe one of you can help me.

Does anyone know where to find the anime show that was the basis for the wrestler Jushin "Thunder" Liger? I know his theme song is the theme song for the anime show, if that helps.

Never heard of the guy- can you show some pics, maybe provide some lyrics from his theme song?

THE RAGE OF THE BEAST GOD

Composed by : Kudou Takashi
Arranged by : Yano Tachimi
Lyrics : Andou Yoshihiko
Vocals : Hiroki Yumi

Burn! Burn!
Burn with rage...
Rush! Rush!
Rush towards tommorow...
The raging flames are piercing the sky...
Rise from the center of the ruins! Lyger!!
The wonder of the bio-armor is feeling damage from the battle
There's nothing to fear till you smash up the evil spirits.
Lyger Sword!
Tear the sky with the holy sword.
Lyger Slash!!
Roaring a lightning flash.
True red fire...
Lyger...! Lyger...!! Lyger...!!!
The Rage of Beast God Lyger!

Burn! Burn!
Burn with rage...
Seize it! Seize it!
Seize the freedom...
An evil dark cloud devours the ground above.
From the center of the the ruins, is the revived Lyger!
The evil god's curse has been sealed.
Even the power of the god from ancient times has reached the end of the century now.
It's time to wake up the hero.
Lyger Sword!
The sword of justice is given by god.
"Lyger Slash!!

Emerged from holy blood, is our fighter
Lyger...! Lyger...!! Lyger...!!!
The Rage of Beast God, Lyger!
Lyger Sword!
Tear the sky with the holy sword.
Lyger Slash!!
Roaring a lightning flash.
True red fire...
Lyger...! Lyger...!! Lyger...!!!
The Rage of Beast God Lyger

*SPOILER*

from the first frame of that page of chapter 197, it plainly states that they were complete,

they are still hollows with the characteristic white shell kind of outer body, the only difference is that their masks were removed, the remaining parts that are visible are most likely parts of their hide,

an example of an incomplete arankaru would be grand fisher when he was sent to attack ichigo somewhere around chapter 185

I don't subscribe to that logic, and I chalk it up to translation oddity. The first panel in the translation I have says "matured" not "completed." And later panels on that page refer to Yami and Urkel as test subjects. The way I see it, knowing what we know about A----, if he knew how to create a perfect hybrid he'd have the power only for himself. He wants to stand in god's place, remember; That's not a shared position.

the vastrode are following A----, and if he was just a normal captain, then there is no reason why they would follow him,
I suppose he could be using his zanpakutou to control them, but there's no way to know,
argh! I want more chapters!

Wow....Bleach's new opening is all kind's of kickass, though it's littered with so many spoilers it's not even funny. Like my all time favorite is it definitely shows Baskethead (Komamura) without his basket, even though that's a couple episodes away. But wow do I love it.
My first time in an anime thread... be gentle.

I got the first disc of Street Fighter II V in the mail today from Netflix. My brother and I caught a few episodes on one of the Encore channels and the show looked pretty good. Anyone seen this series?
I have seen the first three episodes. They are quite good. Part of the reason I use the Guile name is due to the asskicking he gives in the show, lol.

Sweet. Glad to hear that it's good. If the show wasn't so damn expensive, I'd buy the DVD set. Maybe I can find it used... or some other way...

All I have is the three episode dubbed from a rental tape. I'll just have to break for the new ones evetually.
It's about time.
Apparently I was wrong. Komamura's unveiling is this double episode. I thought it'd be entirely devoted to the main fight going on at the time, but then I realized that there's not all that much to that fight. I've heard it goes all the way up to the Soukyoku and Rukia getting there. On the whole, it sounds like an amazingly badass episode.

It was really cheap for a while at Best Prices and DVD Pacific, it was about $28 shipped. They were out of stock, a couple weeks ago but you may check to see if it's back in soon.

Theay also have it at Best Buy for about $36 and at rightstuf.com for about $39 shipped, which for anime is not too much. Sometimes at Right Stuf they also have it on sale in the weekly specials as well for about $28.

Cool. Those prices aren't bad after all. I remember looking into this show a long while back, and it went for about $80.

Yeah I think they rereleased it with different packaging and such for about half the original MSRP at some point. For some reason though some places like Amazon still sell it for like $80, don't know if those are older versions or what.

hey, can everyone who actively posts in this thread and uses #lurk (thelurker.net) go to the website and donate $,
because lurk nearly shut down this month, and we definetlely dont want that do happen,

for those who dont know, #lurk is the biggest manga distro channel on IRC,

*NOT REALLY A SPOILER*

I just noticed that in chapter 270, during the training flashback, Sakura had long hair again. I just always assumed she would have kept it short.

There's training in Naruto?! Well, I don't have to watch the rest of this now. Thanks for ruining it!

edit: also, re Bleach 52. Is Kenpachi not the best? What was with the implication that Unohana was involved in treating R----, though?

You want fiddy-two. That's when the new OP starts. The song is blowful, though.
154 is out.
I'm on it.

I've been watching some Bleach tonight, and I'm up to 47. I'm downloading 48-50 from Lunar now in addition to 154. :) Good stuff, good stuff.
Looks cool. What is it?
Just a few characters from the Naruto manga that I colored and stuck together ... It doesn't exactly work well in sig size though so I really don't have any use for it.

This is what I started with: *SPOILERS?*

Not that much work, really. I didn't even shade it. (EDIT: yet)
Cool stuff, though, Subbie.

Do you draw anything?
Not really. Unless you count the shit all over my "note" books.

Nothing that's anything special ... just something to keep my brain busy during class.

I can't draw. Kinda sucks. I have lots of cool ideas but no talent to draw them. I guess that's why I stick with video as a form of expression.

My encoders work!!!! Finally!!! Now I just have to wait for the other episodes to get encoded and then burn them and I'll have one DVD done. :D
Not that much work, really. I didn't even shade it.
Yeah, using only one color per body section tends to leave the character looking flat and lifeless. You need to add some shadows/highlights to give it some 'life'.

EDIT: just saw naruto 154 and it's a 'meh' filler. I thought it would be a lil more exciting and the new OP/EP were ok. I still prefer the very first OP and the EP with the ninja girls in swimsuits.

Yeah, maybe I'll mess with it tomorrow. Any tips? I've never really done anything like this before ... even though it's just something to take up time I'd rather not fuck it up.

Well, look at my sig. Notice the blonde hair with the pink highlights? Well, the highlights are supposed to represent a light-source and hints at different shades of yellow. Using pink is not a normal highlight but it does well to exaggerate and accentuate the blonde hair giving it depth. You don't hafta be so drastic. For example, using your Sand Nin pic, you can sample Gaara's red hair and then go 2-3 shades down to depict shadow and 2-3 shades up to depict highlights.

Take a look. Your pic on the left and mine on the right with shadows on Gaara's hair around his neck, shadow on his chin and a reflective highlight on his red hair:

gaara5ru.jpg

It's not the greatest as this is a quick & dirty job but notice how it gives Gaara more depth and 'life' to his image?

Thanks, I'll see what I can do later. Though I get the feeling it would be much easier if I were right handed. Or had a tablet.

Meh. I'm a lefty and a tablet isn't necessary. Although I did that pic with a tablet, I've worked for years without it. It was only 2 years ago that I got a tablet but I've been doin this kind of stuff for the last 9 or so years.

EDIT: And I recommend using a multi-layered painting program like photoshop so you can divide the color layers. That way, if you mess up you only need to delete that one color instead of starting the whole pic from scratch. Use one layer for highlights, one for shadows, and one for the midtones (which is basically the basic flat colors that you use as your base for the shadows/highlights).

Well I've not yet trained my right hand for more delicate work, so it'll be slow going at first. No big, I've got nothing but time these days.

Yeah, I'll be using photoshop ... actually that's what I colored it with, used layers there too. Picked up the habit back in my autocad days in high school.
