Odds are you would be hit and killed before your life drained all the way anyway. You can switch her out, X-factor or healing sphere to keep her hanging on. She's supposedly the most broke single character in any game ever, so they went out of their way to make sure she's unplayable.

W00000 officially a snow day tomorrow, which is sweet, cuz WUSTL never has snow days apparently. Can't wait to chill in mah crib tomorrow. I don't expect to be able to leave tomorrow, given the weather.
 
We don't get snow here in California, closest area is Tahoe and even there it's no where near as bad as some of the places out east.

Im finally playing some games on my 360 again, decided to start with Reach and shiiiiitt, it's actually really fun ^_^ I think I have some of you already on my new list, but if I don't let me know and I'll add you, or just add me theCheska.

Was supposed to be new and sealed, outer box destroyed, game and art book missing..

I called my jobs weather hotline and they delayed the start time but if you come in on time they give you double pay for a couple hours.
Kinda perverted that they're encouraging people to risk their lives like that.

I finally beat that pain in the ass mission in Valkyria Chronicles II. There was really no good reason to throw an enemy like that in so early in the game.

I knew a kid who had a kitten which was hurt and whatever injury it suffered actually made it so the kitten would never be able to grow. It stayed a kitten forever.
 
I started 999 last night and played some more on the train this morning, the game is really addictive. The plot reminds me a lot of Gantz, i.e. deadly game, rules not totally made clear, bombs in people to make sure they play, although I'm fairly sure that Junpei isn't going to be half as messed up as Kei Kurono was; the group makeup reminds me of the makeup of the group in Gantz at times too.

Hmm, sounds like I should check out Gantz.

And from what I've heard, 999 is really similar to Ever 17 which was written by the lead designer of 999.

Gantz is fairly interesting (of what I've read of it, which would be all of Phase 1 which is 237 chapters). I started before it had been localized reading a fan translation but now Darkhorse is doing the translation so I'll probably wait till they get to where I've read to and just continue from there. It also has an anime which I've seen a bit of and seems to follow the start of the Manga really closely and I've heard has a decent ending considering it ends only going a short ways into what the manga covers. Just a warning though Gantz does have some fairly strong sexual stuff in it (even almost reaching borderline Hentai at times, although if you've read something like Berserk it doesn't really top anything that appears in that manga).

I considered seeing the world premiere of the live action movie of Gantz which was playing at certain movie theaters a couple weeks ago, but I didn't have anyone to go with so I decided not to go (the special effects looked really cool though).

999 also kind of reminds me of the film Cube (awesome movie btw):

Please don't. Gantz is the worst paced anime I've ever watched. Cool concept, cool designs, impossibly bad execution. There's a part where this guy is dying for seriously like 8 minutes, just giving this dreadful speech on why dying is bad, and you're just like "holy shit, I'm glad you're dead."

I don't know too much about the anime since I've mainly read the manga, but even the manga's execution is a bit annoying which is one of the reasons why I got kind of burned out at the end of Phase 1, basically Gantz reminds me a lot of Lost, there are all kinds of questions you have about what the point of everything is, and they never seem to touch on that (maybe as the author is working to wrap up the manga he is doing a better job of not introducing stuff (i.e. sudden introduction of vampires a long ways into the series) and more on explaining why everything is happening).

In that regard it also kind of reminds me of Berserk, like that series is really awesome for all the flashback arc, but then it get to the present and it seems like everything is moving a snails pace and many things from earlier in the story are just being ignored. Also, I'm annoyed that Berserk basically radically changed the characters that I really liked (like Griffith makes sense but I still liked him a lot before his transformation, but I hate how Caska is being handled, it is like she went from being an awesome warrior who could fend for herself to literally retarded and constantly needing a man to protect her).

Yeah, that's one of the things I liked most about 999. It didn't feel like they were holding back from the grim, oppressive nature of the story, yet they still managed to throw in a lot of humor as well.

It was -- I think it was partially crushed or something since it was a barn cat on a farm -- the vet did whatever to treat the injury but because the cat never got bigger and such, it ended up being a house cat permanently the size/look of a kitten. Sucks that the cat got hurt, but the end results were awesome in a way.

And yeah, the time between character select and load out were holy shit fast, even between battles. I assume they had the game installed to HDD.

How far are you and which mission was it?
The escort mission near the beginning was a major PITA, and I couldn't figure out how to go about beating it until I just rushed my tank to the end spot. The classmate rescue mission is a bit annoying too.


Joel, isn't your fiancee a vet tech? No wonder she's totally against you getting one of those Chorkies, they always grow up to be pretty damn ugly.
 
Got LBP2 yesterday. That game is pretty fun...if you have people to play with at least. Alone is only okay.


Also playing throgh Yakuza 3 again for no reason. That game is rad.

On a positive note I don't have to buy a geology book. Asked the person next to me if he wanted to type up textbook questions for me if I emailed him my class notes. Because I'm sure like every college course, you can learn everything entirely through the internet.

Thats pretty much what I did when I got to that escort mission. Upgraded my APC armor and had scouts escort it. And I had Shocktroopers and Lancers deal with the V2's
. The one I was stuck on was the first one where Baldren shows up in.
The FAQ I found told me I should avoid him. But I found that to be impossible since he can get around quickly and has a lot of firepower. Eventually I used the Fencer/Tech trick and a Tank to take him down. He managed to take 2 units down before I could finish him with a Shocktrooper... The Mission became alot easier to after he was gone.
