Nevada anyone?

Stopped by GameWorld last week (nothing else to do ) and found out they're moving to a location on Charleston in-between Jones & Decatur. Sweet! I picked up a SEALED copy of Grandia II ($20), Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter ($15) and King's Field: The Ancient City ($10) while I was there. They must've found some old stock!

Also of note, they had a copy of Suikoden II *droooooooool* last time I was there for $150. Who knows? I might end up trading some stuff in to try and get it!

Swee~eet I can go there after my classes once they open up. :]

Oh, and I did go to Game Repair on Tenaya & Cheyenne. The place looks nice, but the "Game Repair" guy was a bit condescending at first. He was cool after a good conversation about classic games & Working Designs games. Some of his prices are debatable. ^___< /b

Oh, about the best buy sale:

I went to BB on sunset about an hour after they opened and was able to pick up Quantum of Solace w/ shirts for 360 and PS3, Bourne Conspiracy ps3 and too human 360.

I was also able to get the super walmart to PM infinite undiscovery and C&C Red Alert 3.

Also, does anyone have any good luck with any of the Target clearances around here?
I try to stop by Lake Mead, Sunset & Stephanie, and the Flamingo Targets every Monday/Tuesday but they are all pretty lame most of the time.

And anyone else think it's about time we had an "Official" thread for Nevada? :p

I call dibs on the Rainbow/Spring Mountain and Cheyenne/Tenaya Targets ... which have been rather crap lately. Missed out on Afro Samurai and Endless Ocean :whistle2:(.

Isn't this the official thread for Nevada? I think you're meaning you want an official thread for Vegas?

About 4-5 years ago, I use to be able to pick up clearance items at Target. Nowadays, I can barely find anything.

And it seems like this thread is basically the Official Vegas Thread.

I was thinking of going to Target at Meadows / Decatur.. too lazy though. :/

It would really be nice to have our own Vegas thread. You know with an actual list of (active) CAGs in Vegas, and other notable stuff posted on the Opening Post.

Meh~ that's just me. Here's me hoping we'd get one. :]

I actually had to go down there to get Folklore for 15 back when they had that $5 off of 25 coupon. They had sooo many, unlike every other target that had none.

But nowadays seems everyone is dropping prices on games.

Just visited the Play'n Trade down on Eastern yesterday (as it's the only one left in town!). Traded ~60 guides and some old PS1 games (Madden '97 FTW!) and ended up with about $28.45 in credit. Bought a fairly decent copy of Tales of Destiny II which ended up only costing about $23 after the credit! :)

Please go in and give the guy that runs that store some business. He's pretty cool.

Heh, another far one. ^___^;;

I tried searching Mapquest & found another Play N' Trade on Rainbow. I wonder if it's still open. (I hate driving to faraway places.. most of the time)

The PnT on Rainbow is now out of business. I drove by there on Monday to find the entire store empty. Talked with the other guy (eastern & 215) who mentioned that he had given the guy some pointers, but he was too thick-headed to heed them. :applause: Oh well. The one on Rainbow was set up in the same center as a Gamestop. RULE NUMBER 1, if you're the smaller guy, you distance yourself away from the big guy and try to get other business.

I think the PnT on Rainbow opened at around the same time as the Gamestop one; so they probably didn't realize it until it was too late. Course if the owner had an attitude problem like I heard that probably just quickened its death.

One thing I always wondered was why Gamestop opened another GS on Eastern/215 when there was another one on Eastern/St Rose which is like less than a mile away. Trying to sandwich PnT and drive another store out of business?

The Target on Centennial and the 215 Had 5 Afro Samurais as of 7pm last night. Also 3 Scene it Bundles for $27.

Also theres a GameTag in the parking lot(used to be game crazy) they still have original xbox games and you can still trade them in. They all semmed to be $5, also buy 2 get 1 free. The newer games are kinda high, the clerk said if you rent with them(.99cents a day) you get emails for buy 1 used game get 1 free any systems. Just and FYI.

At the Target on Maryland/Flamingo I saw a copy of Star Ocean 2 for the psp down 33%. Hopefully it'll still be there when it hits 75%!!!

Thanks for the info djsmf. With any luck I can swing by sometime soon.

I was just at Target this afternoon, and they still had 3 afro samurais and a TON of Smackdowns, all on the back endcaps by the dvds.

hey guys. I'll be visiting las vegas near the end of june. Do you guys have any suggestions of good places to shop for video games? Thanks!
Just another CAG from Vegas, here.
I think updates on sales in Vegas should go on the first page..
I agree, but the OP isn't really active in this thread. :/
*still suggests an Official Vegas Thread

Oh, and I've been lurking around BBV thread. I heard about those extremely cheap + quality games = "POG prepack" games. After hours of driving around, I have no luck finding a store that has these "POG prepack" games. D:

>___>;; I wonder if anyone has any luck with this.

GAMESTOP. I kid, I kid. It really depends on how far you want to go. There's a great store on Nellis and Twain area (Game Repair) that has a s*** ton of all the old stuff. Great if you've got money to burn. Otherwise, try (as much as I loathe them) GameWorld up on Durango in between Spring Mountain and Flamingo. They've got a good selection of stuff, but be prepared to pay ebay prices and above. $120 for Valkyrie Profile? fuck you.

I doubt it. None of the stores in town have the fabled "GameRush" attached to them. Give it at least until tomorrow, but don't hold your breath. ;)

Theres also Game Over_ on S Nellis and Desert Inn and PlayNTrade on S.Eastern. Just google the store names with the street.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I'm coming from north of the border so the only major shop here is EB. I'll need to check those places out. Do you guys know of any arcades in the LV area close to the airport?

I don't think there are any arcades in Vegas anymore (besides the ones in the casinos). Back when Mary Kay's was still around, I used to go there like 3 times a week! Actually beat GigaWing there! :)

From what I can recall, I think GameWorld is going to have a few cabinets when they move to their new location.

I didn't know they where moving, to where? Do you know?
Anyone know if there are any arcades in Vegas with SFIV?
I think your best bet would be to check Green Valley Ranch and Sam's Town. They were the arcades I used to go to in my DDR/ITG days.

Also, looks like another GameTag sale. Here is their craigslist ad, I'm gonna go check it out later today.

Wow Mary Kays, haven't heard that place in a while. When I was young it use to be a great arcade place. Free Play on Christmas too. But later down the line it turned from arcade to PC club. That was like 5 years ago the last time I went. I doubt that place is still around, if it is, it definitely is not an arcade anymore.

I know Orleans doesn't have it. Maybe Gameworks...

Nice job finding all the Gametags. I only knew of one location.

Hey everyone. Vegas CAG here!

Went to Target on Rainbow yesterday, and they didn't have too much. I did pickup a Ghost Recon 2/Splinter Cell PSP combo that was marked down to $15. Had several left.

That was pretty much it, besides SFIV, Metallica, and a couple other games for $37.

It's nice(but a little bad...heh) to know there's plenty of CAGs here in Vegas.
I forget, are all those for new games?! If so, I'm definitely in for a couple copies!
Yes, they are for sealed games. There was an older list that showed Lego Batman for 9.99 as well, can't find it anymore though, worth checking out in store if you drop in.
I didn't know they where moving, to where? Do you know?
I know it's more on the ghetto side of town (inner city). Maybe they could have kept their current spot on durango, if their prices weren't so inflated, to which people actually bought things.

EDIT: I was told it's over on Decature and Charleston?

Saw GT5: Prologue and R&C future: ToD for $9.98 and $14.98 respectively at the store on Cheyenne and Tenaya! Grabbed myself a copy of each so help yourselves! GO GO GO!!!

Picked up a copy of each as well at Target on stephanie/sunset thursday night, got the last RaC, there were 4-5 GTs.

Ended up trading in GT for GS credit for the bonus 10 bucks though, tomorrow i go on the hunt for a store with a used ghostbusters

The cross streets are Charleston and near Upland
And I'm pretty sure they have some of the only SF4 arcades in Vegas :applause:
All arcades are 25 cents, also
Plus, they sell YuGiOh, Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, used consoles/games and used dvds
Oh, and it's now twice as big (4 times as big if you include the arcade)

I will try them out today after work.... I need to stop being so loyal to Game Haven and start shopping around. Maybe I will shop a Mario Kart 64 just to see the price differences...

What are the prices on the games? And nope, they don't have SF4 arcade.

Mary Kay's is long gone... I loved the place. I hate to date myself... but I remember Third World on Main Street... and was even around during the dying days of the arcade on Fremont next to "The Circus Room" that had the best burgers in town.

"The Pinball Musuem" is open on Tropicana ... but it's for those of us old enough to remember when the confounded things had flippers and plunger do-dads on them!!

I stopped by GameWorld's new location today and it really isn't bad. No newer games to speak of but they did have 2 working MvC2 cabs, though the monitor on one was definitely on its way out. They looked like they were still setting up a lot so a few cabinets weren't operational. Decently sized arcade with games I wasn't too excited to play but I did get a kick out of playing Pocket Fighter, almost everything being a quarter was also quite nice.

Grabbed Megaman Anniversary Collection for the PS2 for $12.

I'm officially leaving the Hollywood Video on S. Durango (past the 215) up for grabs. It's too far to drive.

This HWV sale is freaking AWESOME! I'm going to have to post my haul later.

Hey punkmaggit any extras that you may want to sell? I went to 3 HWVs today and found jack :(
Buffalo/Flamingo, Warmsprings/Durango (the one you said), and Haulipai/Charleston

Workers said they were All cleaned out 1st day of the sale. All i saw tons of old Sports games, tons of Racing games, Alone in the Darks, Frontlines, Mercenaries 2, Sega Tennis, Golden Axes (1 player WTF?!), 1 Two Worlds, 1 Oblivion,1 Burnout Revenge, 1 the club, 1 Blue Dragon, and a bunch of other crappy games, nothing else worth noting, and barely any of them were complete

I picked up some though, nothing great but $5 is so cheap I couldn't resist even crappy games
DBZ:Burst Limit, Spiderman:Friend or Foe, Sonic Tennis/Arcade Compilation

Wish I would've found Mirrors Edge, MGS4, Grid, Eternal Sonata , Lord of the Rings Conquest
Day one would've been awaesome.

Also hit up the same stores listed above. Not much pickings left. The typical Far Cry 2, Mass Effect, Bioshock, etc. Saw a copy of Rock Band 2 for the 360 at the Durango store mentioned. Guess we missed the boat

Sorry. I did a hard-core hit of the valley on Thursday night. I live out by Rancho/Craig and drove all the way down to Cactus/Decatur!!

I do have an extra:

:360: Mirror's Edge (disc-only)
:360: Sonic Unleashed (complete)
:wii: Excite Trucks (disc + manual)

If anyone is interested. Other notables I picked up were:

:360: Lost Odyssey
:360: Eternal Sonata
:360: Soul Calibur IV
:360: F.E.A.R. 2
:360: Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection
:ps3: Lair
:ps3: Star Wars: TFU
:ps3: DBZ: Burst Limit
:ps3: Civ Rev
:ps3: Warhawk
:ps3: Golden Axe (much more fun than everyone says)
:ps3: R&CF: Tools of Destruction

and some others I can't recall right now.

You live in vegas, so not are you only competing with locals, but visitors as well.

I was over by that Game Over_ Store on Nelis and Desert Inn. They told me about a BlazBlue tournament next week at 3 pm on Saturday. for those that like that game.

Anyone looking for the deal on Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway at best buy...coupon... I used the coupon yesterday with no problem...came to $10.80 total...there were still 10 left at the Best Buy on rainbow & lake mead. Good luck...
