this sale isn't that hot..I have no idea why we have 10 pages of replies. At some point, all these games will be $10 on ebgames.com

That being said, the only thing i'm interested in is PoP WW GC. I've heard the game is pretty buggy. Is that on all platforms?

No, it is not that "hot" compared to past clearances, but there are certainly a few gems in the list that will interest everyone. I can't speak for everyone, but I'd rather have new sealed games from CC than potentially used/scratched/incomplete copies from EB.
 
Anyone know if the free headset with Rainbow 6 is any good?
Also the KOF 02/03 collection will be extremely hard to get a hold of soon. This is definitely one Id pick up now.

I'd say it is not bad. The only drawback is that the communicator module is permanently connected to the headset, so you can't use the R63 set with your existing module (or vice versa). It's a decent buy at this price, though!

I had this headset.The problem mine had was that the volume control is attached to the damn cord.The solder points in it became disconnected and the headset is worthless now.

Go to Gamestop,EB or BB and get the Plantroics X10.Only $15 and great quality.

Prices HAVE NOT gone into effect as of an hour ago. SOme stores are pulling the games and restickering them for the sale, but even if you manage to get a restickered copy it will ring up full price (unless you have a cool CSM to override it, YMMV).
 
Earlier in this thread, someone mentioned that it's KOF 2003/2003 that's on sale...However everyone else cays it's KOF: Maximum impact, which is it?

Well, it's like this - CC.com shows the "collectors edition" as KoF 2002 / 2003 picture, but a price point for 29.99. KoF 02 / 02 retails for 39.99, and I've NEVER seen it at CC, ever.

KoF Collectors Edition is that KoF Maximum Impact box, and that IS retailing for 29.99. I'd bet my money on that being on sale, espically since CC has 7 or so of them.

It says "KING OF FIGHTERS COL. ED," and it's obvious that that "col ed" means "Collector's Edition."

Which means they must be talking about the 2-DVD Collector's Edition of King of Fighters: Maximum Impact.

Furthermore, the SKU they have listed for this "KOF COL. ED" is 828862200136. That is NOT the SKU for KOF2002/2003, nor is it the SKU for KOF2000/2001 or the Non-Collector's-Edition of Maximum Impact. Which means the only thing it could be is, indeed, the Collector's Edition of KOF: Maximum Impact.

I agree. There are a few gems in this list, but nothing I'll go crazy over. The games I would go for on this list are already in the 10 range or sure to be there at some point.
 
It's better than the last $5 sale where they didn't have anything , now i can actually see them having stuff , atleast the first day, i'll pick up a few !

Even if it's not there, K-Mart frequently knocks it down to $15 during their blue light special sales that happen quite often, so at least there's another chance if you miss out.
 
Went this morning at 10AM to one store and found everything was as normal, no one pulling games or the like. Found most of the items I had been looking for, on normal sticker price, and picked 'em up without incident. Purchase was over $100, and for that, they checked my credit card, nothing for name and phone # or anything like that.

Went to another CC and found a couple more items I was looking for, also on the shelf like normal.

I can see them weaseling out of the PM due to:

1) This being a special offer or promotion, though as this is just a "sale", that's shaky ground. It doesn't say "clearance sale" is a special offer or promotion in sales that they don't match.
2) The advertised price won't be specifically stated in their ad, like the ones they've done in the past, which were "Titles vary by store location". In the computer, it should come up as $9.99, which is their downfall on that one. Since it's matching their prices, I can't see an issue with that.

Which would be the same as them doing a price adjustment down to the $9.99 instead of the PM down to $9.99 - 10% of the diff.

I can see them changing the prices down to $9.99 instead of the PM and cop out of the 10%.
 
For those that care, the Joliet IL CC is officially out of Baten Kaitos and Gungrave OD (bought the last copy of each today to pricematch next week)

Exactly... I wonder if Circuit City is going to catch on to people all of a sudden buying mass amounts of these games that just happen to be on the list?

I'm going to play it safe, and just nab Ridge Racer DS... I just noticed it has a $5 dollar pricegrabber rebate also, making the total for it $5.

When I go next Sunday to then get my price adjusted, I'll check out to see what $10 dollar games are left.
 
They were officially pulling games for this sale at one of my CC's. I was able to pick up alot of what I wanted and noticed there were a bunch of a couple titles left if anyone is interested I could pick them up sometimes next week. They had at least 2 or so of all of these titles when I left:

Project Snowblind (PS2)
Samurai Warriors (PS2)
Ridge Racer (DS)
Street Racing Syndicate (PS2 and GC)
Chronicles of Riddick (XBX)
Vietcong: Purple Haze (PS2)
WWE Day of Reckoning (GC)
NFL Street (GC)
Robotech Invasion (PS2)

They had already pulled most of the XBox games so I imagine Project Snowblind and Robotech will be readily available on Xbox as well when this officially starts.

The clerk showed me the list and looked quite a bit longer than the list posted here, but I could be wrong. It might have just looked bigger cause it was on paper. It spanned about 4 or 5 pages though.

Anyway, I picked up a couple games for trade on here so if anyone is interested I've got Samurai Warriors, Baten Kaitos, Riddick, and Ridge Racer (DS) up for trade. My main wants from the list are Nanobreaker (PS2), Prince of Persia 2 (GC), King of Fighters 2002/2003 (if this is the one on sale), and Shellsock Nam 67. I might just make a trade thread though......

Just seems weird they are clearancing this game, but not the KoF Maximum Impact that other stores have been.
 
The thing about the PM policy though is that this is not a pricematch from another store. It's a price adjustment. Whether it is a clearence or not, they should have to honor it. I don't know if that is the pricematch policy or the price adjustment policy shrike posted. If it is the PM policy that shouldn't hold any water unless they are one in the same, which I would assume they are not.
 
I wonder if we'll really have to worry about hoarders?

They'll barely make a profit off of most of this $10 stuff... I'm honestly not too worried. I can see maybe a few games on that list being semi profitable, but nothing that would fill shopping carts this time.

Agreed! I actually don't see any of them being very profitable.

EDIT: We might still have to worry about hoarders though cause they will think these will be profitable.

AGREE'D. I know that there are a lot of hoarders/resellers who don't know shit about games, and therefore assume that if something is on sale or clearance they can resell it for profit. Case in point: there's a dipshit in Atlanta that goes to all the area BBs and buys all the penny guides; I mean, every single copy of every single penny guide. You can't convince me that he actually makes a profit that is worth all the trouble...

im going to mine first thing in the morning on the third, im going to get what i want and be done with the sale. i dont exactly want to be running back and forth hoping that some of the ones that i wanted will be reshipped to stores

I'm thinking of doing what you did and buying all of my stuff early, and hope for a PM. OTOH, I'm a little weary of buying everything and then just returning it. OTOOH, I don't want to risk losing out to ebayers and CC employees.

What to do, what to do...

THink of it this way:
worst case scenario - they won't do a Price adjust. So, just 'return' them, and then buy them back. If you are cool about it, then I'm sure there will be no problem. Hell, if they give me any shit about it, I'll tell them the truth - that I didn't want to miss out on the sale, and I knew that they'd be sold out if I didn't act fast. I'm sure the CSRs get tired of dealing with hoarders, too.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Circuit City higher ups encourage the hoarders, which is why they don't place limits on how many games you can get.

Think of it if you ran a store, and had a sale and nobody bought anything. The purpose of these clearance sales is to get rid of all this stuff rotting on the shelves - hoarders buying them en masse is accomplishing that goal.

I wouldn't be surprised if Circuit City themselves "leaked" a copy of the list, knowing full well people would buy all of this stuff espically since what happened last year.

I don't condone hoarding, I think it's horrible, but for Circuit City, they probably love it. It might be hell on the person checking them out at the register, but when has management ever cared about the lower people on the food chain?

Had I not woke up at 8:30 this morning, I doubt I would have made the trips.

I figured that they should match the price to the $9.99 worst case, though a return and buy. Best case, they'll PM the price, which will net me games at $7.99, $8.49 and $8.99. Worst case of all, they don't do any PM, they get the games back and I explain to them that I was buying a copy for myself to make sure I had a copy, before any hoarders cleaned them out.

If they don't like it, fuck them in their ear.
