If someone needs the Xbox version of The Suffering and can find the PS2 version, I don't mind playing 3-part trade with them to get them the Xbox version, the PS2 version to Roufuss and me the money for the Xbox version.

Rolling eyes shit? Wow, some people can't quite take a tiny dose of humor. And if you hate these boards, why stick around longer than I've been here? And I was pissed, I wouldn't be rolling my eyes over it.

Yes, it's a 40 page thread. Yes, it's a bit ponderous in its size.

It's worth taking the time through it, though I'll give you the summary I posted on page 36:

Here's what we know:

1) Games bought now will ring out at regular price, which will be $19.99, $24.99 or $29.99, as an example.
2) They should do the price adjustment as a PM on the 3rd, which would be $9.99 + 10% of difference to $9.99.
3) They may do the price adjustment down to $9.99 and claim that this, being a clearance sale, isn't applicable to a PM.
4) If you don't open your games, you can return them.
5) If they don't change the price, which has been suspected, return the games.
 
It turns out I may only be able to get one or two games. :sad: So I'll have to pick the best of the ones that will be there. Now to narrow down my list to about 10 so that I know what I'll need to pick up if they're there.

How is this thread so long when:

A) The sale isn't even that good
B) The sale isn't even on yet

None of the games are that good/such a good deal that you need to buy them now and then hope to get a PM when that sale starts, at least in my opinion. I mostly missed the big $5 CC sale last year and by the time I got there they had nothing good left, plus my CC is small and in a small area so they probably didn't have much to being with. This sale isn't anywhere near as good as that.

Its sooo long because we are all bored and CC holds a special place in our hearts.

My CC has cut back on their game stock so severely that I doubt that much will be had there :whistle2:(

Don't know if they pulled any games yet but I didn't see the few I'm interested in.

also 2 quick questions not readily viewable on the pricegrabber site:

1. How old can your game reciepts be? I have receipts dating back years for all my games. Of course I wouldn't do them all. But I'm sure alot of games within the last 6 months I have receipts that I could find easily.

2. I plan on sending multiple ie.(maybe more than 5)rebates in. If I were to send them times .35 cents a stamp that sux. If I sent them all together stapled and nice in a larger envelope it might save me postage. Will they process a pile of these for me? How many at one time have others sent in?

1.) Not sure. I assume it doesn't matter. I've seen Wave Race for the Gamecube which is eligible for the rebate and that game is nearly four years old.
2.) As long as you organize them nicely, they'll accept them in one envelope. I saw that in help earlier.

Man, I sure was pissed. I used to keep all of my receipts in a big bag-- which I finally threw away two weeks ago before I knew about Pricegrabber. I could have literally had 200 bucks if I wrote a ton of reviews.

I've found that most of the posts consist of being about why the thread is so long and that this sale has very few worthwhile games. I'm not trying to be funny here; that's just the way it has gone.

41 pages and still going...i will pick up many things from this sale...i dont care how worthwhile a game is...for 5-10 bucks some of these games you just cant go wrong

I thought the same thing during the original 5 dollar cc sale, hey look robin hood defender of the crown..well its only 5 bucks, 20 minutes later, *whips game across the room* I WANT MY 5 BUCKS BACK.
 
Interesting, I went to Meijer yesterday and was looking through the games. Some of the PS2 games listed on that list are $9.99 new at Meijer. The store I went to that had a ton of copies of Samurai Warriors, XIII, Gungrave & Primal that had $9.99 stickers tagged on them. Those games were not in the display cases, they were in a stand near the games. So if you can't find those games at CC, you could always check Meijer.
 
I'm not sure if this has been addressed yet but don't forget that CC will honor the $5 off any PS@ game coupon for BB. That makes the PS2 $7.99 games $2.99. I'd say that Hitman 2, LOTR: ROTK, and Rainbow six 3 are all worth $2.99 folks..............

:rofl: I picked that up last year. I still haven't played it yet. Should I just jump to the chase and fling it across the room right off the bat and not even bother opening it?

wheres the rebate for RS3? Is it labelled as "Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield" ? I thought that the Raven Shield subtitle was for the PC version, but i guess they could have mislabelled it

Not all Circuit City stores accept competition coupons.
 
alright, talked to the circuit city people and they have about three boxes for each of the games on sale he said. Also, Rainbow Six 3 doesn't come with headset.

There's two versions of them, one with the headset and one without. I have one of them sitting at home with the mic.

Just returned from CC. Picked up all 3 games I wanted, POP, Snowblind and Baten Kaitos. My CC didn't pull anything from the shelves, it appears.

Yea, I'm pretty sure this bin full of games will be YMMV.

It's Thursday, and the CC hasn't pulled anything from the shelves either (but they did lay all the games face down... wtf?).

I'm going Saturday night right before closing, and if they still haven't pulled games I'm going to hide some that I'm interested in.

Same here for me at my main CC of choice, though another one pulled the games and put 'em in back. Some careful conversation produced the games I was trying to find for other CAGs, save one game title.

Said CAGs have been PM'd about their requests and my ability to fulfill them.

Also, I'm betting that they won't be PM'd, just price adjusted to $9.99. One rep I spoke with (who told me about the sale when I was playing dumb) said that CC doesn't PM (PM + 10% that is) their own prices. I know BB does it that way, though that's a new one for CC to do.

We'll know for sure on Sunday.

So they put them all face down as well?

It worked for the ps2 titles, since it was easy to browse the security stickers to find the game you wanted, but the xbox has no such stickers, so it was just a bunch of face down green cases.

I posted it earlier, but it was still the worst thing I've ever seen a retail store do, since you had no idea what stock was there.

Nobody has found a PS2 Suffering, it is sad times.

hahahah thanks for reminding me guys. that's actually one of the games I still have yet to play from the last sale. It looked really bad and I jsut could never get the urge to play it.

No, at my "normal" CC, they were on the shelf like normal. Nothing different.

At the other CC I went to that I found the games, they were in the back, with $9.99 pricetags on them. Paid full price for them, though will go back on Sunday for the PM or PA.

And regarding The Suffering, go check your PM's. :D
 
It's funny, the list doesn't have Classic Metroid for 7.99 that's clearly on the front page of the July 4 circular.

Yeah, they're going to curse my name, though I'm keeping the games associated with a specific receipt in the same bag. So, they deal with one bag and one receipt at a time.

I promise I will after the fact. Currently, it's broken up in each bag with the receipt in question for the purchase. Easier that way on the CSR's.

Because that is different sale that only lasts two days.

Its Metroid NES, Hitman 2, LOTR: ROTK, and some other one I forgot.

Your best bet is to go Saturday Night if your CC hasn't pulled the games (like mine), hide what you want, and then just casually stroll in there when the store opens on Sunday.

I'd go right at store opening, but only because it's 95 degrees out and I'm not waiting outside.

11 am on Sundays.

I remember at the last $5 dollar sale, I went right when they opened, and had no problem finding games. With this sale having more expensive games with less resale value, there won't be that much of a rush.
