NFL 2007 Season Thread
I don't think anyone would classify the Detroit O line as huge.
Yeah I agree. The guys on there that are 305 and 295 bring there average weight down. They are not one of the bigger lines in the NFL.
They had trouble getting pressure because Dallas' O line is H-U-G-E! Quick rundown of their size: 6'7" 340, 6'5" 290, 6'8" 315, 6'6" 354, and 6'4" 316. With out KGB, they had real problems getting to Romo until into the 4th Q.

Its too bad the game was lost due to injuries and fuck ed up officiating, and now Cowboys and fans are walking around like they are the cock of the walk. Total BS.
I love how the Packers fan will blame this on Injuries. Shit Dallas isn't completely healthy either. Dallas and The Packers will meet again in the playoffs.

Also you know Woodson and Harris are the most penalized DB's in the game today? They have more Holding Call and Pass interference they any other Duo out there. It would have been the same results pretty much.

I also love this "Offsides" call on Ware. This was in the first quarter where he made Favre Fumble. This bad call led to the Packers scoring 3 points.

I think you can admit that the injured players for the Packers left a bigger hole in what they do as a team than the for the Cowboys.

Also, don't talk to me about bad calls. They went both ways last night and most of those were against the Packers. The PI call at the end was horrible and put points on the board for Dallas, maybe not on that actual play, but any team of that caliber will score from that distance.

You were right about 1 thing, though. They will play again, and I really hope both teams are healthy so we can see a great game.

Agreed. Both teams had bad calls. Both teams have the injuries. Both teams gave each other some gifts ( INT's ).

I did get a little worried when Dallas was up 27-10 and they started to run some shitty plays. Then the Packers caught up 27-24 and I was realllllly worried :D. Dallas getting stopped on 4 and 1. Ouch. Also the TO bobble in the End Zone when Harris INT it. That made me go crazy. :)

Hopefully Favre comes back and plays next week. I would hate to see him not start.

Even if Favre isn't 100%, I'd still want him to start just for the sake of extending his streak. I wouldn't mine them putting Rodgers in after a little while since he showed he can perform well, plus they'll be playing the Raiders :p

When the Packers and Cowboys meet up again in the NFC game, it'll still be a toss-up on who will win. Both showed reasons on why they could win, but the Cowboys got the better of them in this past match-up.

Maybe the NFL should stop letting a first year referee (John Parry) call HUGE regular season games (New England - Indy and Green Bay - Dallas). He and his crew nearly screwed the Pats out of a win, and in my opinion did take away a victory from the Packers.

IT WAS THAT TEAM!?!?!

Good God, no wonder the calls were so fuck ing bad!

Between the NFL allowing rookie crews to call the most important games of the regular season and producing a 2nd rate product (NFL Network's shitty presentation last night) they have a lot of balls trying to make me feel bad for not beating down my cable cos door to get their channel.
Wait, I missed the end of the last page. People are complaining about that PI call where the Packer tripped the guy?
Their feet got tangled when he was looking back towards the ball to make a play.
Their feet got tangled when he was looking back towards the ball to make a play.
You still gotta call it. Look at it this way, could you imagine how many "accidental trips" there would be if that wasn't PI?

Well no. Feet Tangled happen and it's part of the game. It should not be called.

That call though could have gone either way. The defender was looking back at the ball then looked at the WR. He then put his right hand on the WR's right Bicep as if he was trying to slow down the WR since he was getting beat.. At the same time the DB and the WR got there feet tangled. It could of very well have been a holding call instead of a PI call since he did put his hands on the WR after 5 yards.

I think it's PI because the receiver was in position to make a play and the defender's actions prevented that from happening. I see feet tangled as more of a side-by-side kind of deal. When one person is clearly ahead of the other, I see it as a trip.

Yeah, the defender has a right to the ball, but the receiver also has the right to his space.

Agreed. I do dislike the Feet Tangle rule. But the way you put it thats the way they should follow it. If feet tanglment can save your ass more and more DB's will do it when they get burned.

I think that this game would have had the same outcome even if the questionable calls were reversed. The facts of the game:

Cowboys Offense was pretty much unstoppable: 1 punt , 1 failed 4th Down and the TO's gift.

The Cowboy's special teams outplayed GB. Kick returns were horrible on GB side. The kicker had to make several impirtant stops.

The Cowboys Defense started out dominating until Favre got knocked out. GB's defense was burned all night.

I think the score might have been different but Dallas still would have won.

What I don't understand is why run JJ on the 4th and 1.

Also, I think Dallas D got over-confident after Favre was injured. It just looked like they lost intensity .

This is the NFL, you play with what you got. No crying over injuries and saying this or that would have happened if so and so was in.

The game is what it is and the score is what it is. Just suck it up and move on. You have amazing victories and you have dreadful games. Great team just take it as a lesson and try to improve. I think GB and Dallas are great teams . Like the Cowboys loss to the Pats.. I think GB will only get better after this loss. Lets move on and wait til the next match-up.

You guys sure are selective when you remember this game.

How can you call the Dallas O unstoppable when they got virtually shut out after about midway through the 2nd quarter?

The refs gave them this game, and even with major injuries the Packers almost game out with the W.

Your D didn't even get any pressure on our QB. He picked your secondary to bits.

I'm just tired of hearing all the crying about what and if's.

The last time I checked, ifs and buts don't win games.

Calls go both ways, this game might have been in the Cowboys favor.

So what, refs are humans and can't get it right every time.

To say a team with injuries come out and almost have a win is the better team ?

So your saying the Eagles (w/o McNabb) is better than the Pats...

Oh please....

Dallas won the game.. Dallas played better ... Dallas is 11-1 .

It's called speculation.

I'm sorry people have opinions and actually express them

I just look at what the Pack did wrong and just speculate what they could have done if they had been able to start their key players who were injured.

All I know for sure is that when they meet up again, it'll still be hard to determine who will win.

It's really not that hard to determine the winner. Even if I wasn't a Cowboys fan I'd choose the Boys to win. Dallas has Green Bays Number. By the time they meet again we "might" have a healthy Terry Glenn. Even with Woodson, GB will not be able to cover 3 top WR's.

Glenn would be a huge addition if healthy, but from what I've read thats prob not going to happen. Woodson would make a difference and he would be able to guard Patrick Crayton who is NOT a top WR. Don't forget that Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila was out too. With both of them back the game will be much more interesting.

Are you fucking kidding me? Did you even watch the game? The packer d-back pulled the dude back, THEN he fucking trips him. It was clearly a PI. The call wasn't because of the tripping, it was because he pulled the guy back and it was a late call by the refs.

Despite what you say, I still have confidence in the Packers. Even when they dug themselves a hole they showed they can still fight back and make it a game. Their pass defence is the one thing that ultimately led to their downfall, and none of them played with much intensity.

I'll quote this critique of their Pass Defense:
PASS DEFENSE: F -- No Charles Woodson in uniform, thanks to a sore big toe, underscored the problems for a secondary that was out of sorts and offered next to no resistance to Dallas' array of shifts, motions and crosses. Al Harris was horrendous, even only as a part-time primary cover guy on the ever-moving Terrell Owens, who won the big matchup of the game in a landslide with seven catches for 156 yards. Owens should have had two touchdown receptions but juggled one in the end zone into the hands of Harris. Jarrett Bush, Woodson's starting replacement, was pathetic. He was overmatched by Patrick Crayton and tight end Anthony Fasano, committed a pass-interference penalty on Miles Austin a deep pass inside the Packers' 10 and was pulled from the game in the second quarter. Strong safety Atari Bigby was brutal, be it trying to keep up with Jason Witten in a huge second half for the safety, failing to pick up Crayton on a third-and-19 conversion and not helping elsewhere in coverage. Tramon Williams, who replaced Bush, was flagged for a questionable pass-interference penalty on Austin down near the goal line, setting up a pivotal touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to keep the Packers at bay. Also to blame was an unusually dearth of a pass rush - Tony Romo was sacked zero times.

Despite that, they still made it a close game. Knowing that they are a good football team though, they will correct those mistakes, and they will come back to fight harder.
I can't enjoy football knowing that my dolphins are winless... please someone help the dolphins...
Unfortunately, Captain Planet himself couldn't help those Dolphins.

:applause:

I'm sure they'll have at least 1 win this season. I mean, when's the last time a team went winless? Honestly I'd like to know.

yeah, but I wish they had him.

Tampa Bay in 1976, but they only played 14 games.

Baltimore in the strike-shortened 1982 season. (Hello John Elw...DOH!)

i'm guessing that they'll get their only win against the Jets later this year. Or in the most unexpected move of the year, they some how manage to not only beat the Patriots, but also intercept Brady 11 times .
AFC Division Champs: Patriots, Ravens, Chargers, Jaguars.

Today, He returns!

They do play the Jets one more time, that'll probably be their final chance at nabbing a win.

Which they won't.
I love watching MJD run. If other backs had his heart, or he had their size...
If other backs had his heart, and he had their size....he would be Adrian Peterson.

THROW IT TO RICE

PercyChuggs (1:24:45 PM): No Rice on the field

PercyChuggs (1:27:27 PM): Rice is on the field

PercyChuggs (1:28:43 PM): OH fuck YEAH

Gee, I wonder what happened between 1:27:27 and 1:28:43

As of right now, Jets 30 Dolphins 13.

The bad news.... I started Matt Shaub on my fantasy team today....
The good news... At least he outscored the alternative (Eli Manning has negative pts so far!).

Good lord am I hurting at the QB position.

Man I seriously hope clevelant loses. If the Steelers win v. Bengals game tongiht, it would give the steelers some breathing room for the division.
That flag just thrown on the bears was so not pass interference. Shockey ran into the defender!
Sorry, to break it to you, but the defender jumped into him. Now, you could argue that he was going for the ball, but Shockey didn't run into him.

Wow, and NFL.com gamecast says TB converted on a 4th and 1 in FG range and has now scored.
