Holding the pats to 27 points is a good job

*Still trying to pick jaw off floor*

He caught the ball with 4-5 Pats around him and if they were only 6 feet part they would have had the most amazing ending ever.

Wow!

FUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK THHHHHHAAAATTTTT

Ravens had this game. The defense played their heart out and the penalties at the end just showed the frustration that they gave this one away.

How many damn shots must you give them before you realize that you must finish strong?!??!?!?

I knew the defense was gonna hold em' at the line, the fans knew they were going to hold them at the line, but the damn coach made the fatal error.
Boller also made the fatal error of forcing the throw and throwing an INT.

One thing's for sure, there are a lot of broken TV's right now...
Holding the pats to 27 points is a good job
True, but it doesn't change the fact that they had stopped the Patriots but the timeout took it away. He lost faith in his own defense and that's the message it sent to them. Furthermore, perhaps next time we should leave the official's flags on the field?
Holy Shit Hioly Shit Shit Holy Shit
Exactly what I was saying during that Hail Mary at the end. This game nearly gave me a fucking heart attack. But yeah.... the drive to perfection continues. :D

Would've (or should've) been called back after that obvious offensive PI on Mason.

Baltimore played a great game, their D is legit and really came through for them. McGahee was good for most of the game, but as usual, the offense let them down when it counted. They had the lead and the ball late twice and went 3 and out both times.

Cheating is perfection? Good to know.
wow, what a suprise, the NFL gives the patriots another win, how strange that the game that will have the patriots going for 16-0 is gonna be on the NFL network, what a crock, why do they bother keeping up the scam
Are you serious? What a little baby you are
Cheating is perfection? Good to know.
Don't start this again. Pats fans, kindly ignore.

The Steelers game should be fun to watch. And way to piss of the Ravens, Pats. The Colts come in next weekend.
Cheating is perfection? Good to know.
Oh, you have proof they're still doing it? Want to fill me in on where you found it? Id appreciate it.
Cheating is perfection? Good to know.
Every person who makes that excuse should have their name... no not their username, screen name or any other internet handle, but literally their name as recognized by the US Government, changed to "fucking Retard" because that's the only type of person that would continue to make that argument.

THE PATS SHOULD HAVE LOST THE FIRST GAME FOR CHEATING!

They didn't and I will bitch about this to the day I die.

So fuck you all.
THE PATS SHOULD HAVE LOST THE FIRST GAME FOR CHEATING!

Agreed. They may not be able to cheat anymore due to the intense scrutiny they've been placed under but that doesn't change the first game of the season which they were proven to have cheated during, therefore its not exactly a perfect season if they had to cheat to win their first game of the season.

Both of the bird teams had the chance to give the Pats THE Bird but both of those teams just were not able to finish strong on the offensive side. It really blows to see them shoving the ball down the Patriots' throat only to have them go ice cold or force the throw and turn the ball over RIGHT at the end of the game.

That is what I really think did both teams in, the forced throw that results in the interception. It just does something to the Offense and all of a sudden they can't drive down the field anymore.

The defense was terrific, the only other thing you could ask from them is to give up less points, which is placing the bar very high.

Man I'm so bummed. The Patriots should've gone down twice, but stupid mistakes and follies from the other team practically invited them to take back the lead.

One more thing, McGahee and the running game/blocks were REALLY impressive, the drive for their last TD was amazing.
Agreed. 2nd agree'd. Would the Pats have won without the cameras against the Jets? Yeah. But doesn't change the fact that they cheated, just like in school, you cheat you get a 0 on the test. Still amazing what there doing though..props to Ravens too.

I'd love to have heard that sideline conversation between Billick and Harrison. The coach giving an opposing team's player a smooch was hilarious.

Yea, I wonder what Harrison said or what made him go up to the other team's coach :whistle2:k

I had to rewind it just to watch Billick give him a smooch, that was...."endearing"
Would've (or should've) been called back after that obvious offensive PI on Mason.

You forgot the part where Gay pulled Mason back before Mason shoved him off right? Should've been a PI right there on Pats.

And, I have always thought that only the headcoach and player could call a timeout, not the other coaches. ESPN even confirmed it with the rule book.

Also, I have NEVER seen any penalty stacking with another, it was always the bigger of the 2. Is this new?

I'd like to know who the fuck is making all these stupid 3rd down calls, did Boller/Ravens coach not learn a damn thing from the Eagles game? You do NOT need a fucking touchdown when you're up by 7. They were in FG position and the only thing they needed was to not lose yardage or the ball. Seriously, how fucking retarded can these people get? Someone make me a fucking headcoach. I would've also taken my chances on 4th and 1 than giving the ball back to the Pats with that much time left.

That was some serious bull crap! Two 4th down conversions then a questionable TD catch by Gaffney. The Ravens needed to at least come away with a FG on that possession they started on the Pats 30 before Boller threw the pick. Once that pick happened I knew that was it. Ravens had four or five chances at the end to take care of business but once again the Sith Lord Bill Bellicock escapes with a win.

:lol:I loved how at the end, the pats kicked off from, like, the raven's 35 yeard line. Our kicker missed the field goal though.

You guys do realize they had the tape taken away before the half, and therefore had no chance to use it right? They did not cheat. It really shouldn't be against the rules anyway, but that's another issue.

If you want to talk cheating go investigate Bill Polian and see how many referees are on his payroll.

By the way, only the Dolphins...and apparently the Steelers need to cheat to beat the Jets.

Attempted cheating is just as bad really. And they'd certainly done the same thing for many games in the past. I'm sure he had tapes on the Jets from past seasons he'd reviewed.

It should have been offsetting penalties then. I didn't see Mason get interfered with, but I did see Asante Samuel get mugged.

Trust me, that's not the first time a coordinator has called a time out before.

Since they were both dead ball penalties they stack. They then added another 5 yards to the kickoff on the offsides on the PAT. Which led to very possibly the shortest kickoff in NFL history.

That was hilarious.

I had a good buddy who was at the game last night and joked with him that he wouldn't have to worry about a mess in the parking lot afterwards - unless he took off at halftime with everybody else. :) Man was I wrong.

No, its really not. Is attempted murder as bad as murder? I'm sure he did still have tapes from the Jets and other teams they have played since 2000. I'm also sure he didn't give all the tapes he had to Goodell when he asked for them. I'm just as sure that other teams have similar tapes. The Pats got caught doing something that many teams do, and payed a heavy price for it.

Actually Yes. Attempted murder is just as bad as murder, the consequence is not but the intent and act is the same; It carries the same culpability and deserves the same punishment. Also in every criminal law system in America they are punished exactly the same so it seems judges and legislatures agree.

Nobody has ever proven that any other teams cheated (all are baseless allegations) moreover NE did not pay any heavy price for it! The financials were negligible and the draft pick!? Please! These teams coaches and players in the NFL are role models and what message are sending to youth that says "You can cheat in a game, get caught, and still win." I thought cheaters never win, I guess they do in the NFL.

I can't believe there aren't more non-Pats fans rooting for the perfect season. I'm so sick of the '72 Dolphins and their stupid toast and now Don Shula has to be in the booth? Please go 19-0 and end this nonsense.*

* Although I wouldn't mind 2 losses this season in Week 16 and Week 19 - both to the NY Football Giants.

True the 72 Dolphins are jack asses.

I don't mind seeing the Pats win becaue it gives me another game to root against them in.

The absolute perfect scenario IMO would be the Pats going undefeated in the regular season and then losing to the Colts in the AFC championship.
I'm more sick of the media hype of the Pats..
Seriously. 1st and 10 on ESPN FirstTake is all about the game last night.

Cheating is worse that attempting to cheat because cheating actually ocurrs. Murder is worse than attempted murder because someone is actually murdered...

I hope you meant to say that no team has been caught videotaping, because many NFL teams and players have cheated.

A first round pick can make or break the average franchise, ask Cincinnati, Detroit, and Cleveland among others. Bill Belichick was fined $500,000 and the franchise was fined $250,000. Those are incredibly large fines.

You're right, I'm sure little kids hate having to look up to guys like Tom Brady and Tedy Bruschi. The Patriots franchise is full of such bad role models. Everyone should just follow Tennesse and look up to Adam Jones, or San Diego and Shawne Merriman. Or better yet, everyone should just become an Oakland fan!

Speaking of messages to kids what would Ben Roethlisberger's be? "Motorcycle helmets are for fags!"?

The videotaping rule is a bunch of crap anyway, the defensive signs are in plain view for anyone to see.
The videotaping rule is a bunch of crap anyway, the defensive signs are in plain view for anyone to see.
I wonder what would happen if random fans taped the signals and sent them completely unsolicited to the team?

Probably because most of the country is getting tired of New England in general. The Patriots, the Red Sox, and the Celtics seem to be the teams which dominate all professional sports news and it's boring as hell.

The wind was against them that was not FG distance a 47 yard kick in that wind wasn't going to happen. It would have worked as a good punt if the defender didn't get such a good return on it.

Also how is a first round pick not a good penalty. What did the Broncos have to give up for circumventing the cap during their Super Bowls?

Good point....except that Rodney Harrison got in trouble for the exact same thing Merriman did...ROIDS! Not only that but the Pats asshole coach likes to keep his starting QB in when he's up by 35 going into the fourth quarter, which is not only extremely stupid, but a jackass move as well. What a role model running up the score on other teams. Don't act like the Pats are golden, Brady's a great role model too with his illegitimate son and all.

Get off of the Pats jock.

Not to be a jerk but I they play the Giants Week 17. You forgot to count the bye week :)

Yeah. It's not as if Shula played for Baltimore, or coached them to a championship or anything.

Bingo

Boston teams have become every sport's new Yankees. They buy up all their talent or get stars practically handed to them on a silver platter for free (Moss, Garnett).

Merriman took an anabolic steroid, and Rodney used HGH, they are two different things. Also, Rodney stepped up and admitted his use while never actually testing positive for it. It's hard to defend what Rodney did, because he was wrong, but atleast he went about it the right way.

I don't know about you, but when I was young I liked to look up to players, not 55 year-old coaches. Bill Belichick is a jerk, but he is also the best coach in the NFL.

There is no running up the score in the NFL. If you don't want a bunch of points put up on you, play DEFENSE. You're just a pissed Skins fan that can't get over the 52-7 game.

You do realize that there are many people that have children and don't get married right? For example the new NFL hero Shawn Taylor.

I guess Roethlisberger's example would teach kids somethign about determination, persistence, overcomming odds, appreciating life, and perhaps most importantly, motorcycle safety children. Always wear a helmet (as he does now).

Additionally, anyone who lives/has spent anytime in Pittsburgh knows that Big Ben would be taking his life into his own hands in more ways than one if he were to get back on a bike w/out a helmet. Yinzers would slap him silly.

I guess the worst thing about the Pats and Bill Bellicheater is how unapologetic they are. Their policy reminded me of Nixon's. Acting as if they were above the law, then claiming it was simply an error of misinterpreting rules (COMPLETE BULLSHIT b/c the rules say no taping other teams signs whatsoever). I won't even go into detail about how the fact that they tried to hide it proves that they knew it was illegal. The reaction is really what pisses everyone off the most: We're not sorry, it was an accident, I wont answer any more quesions about it ever, drop it. As far as Bellicheater's bad sportsmanship goes, well thats not exactly a good role model either.

I'm personally sort of happy this spygate shit happened. After all, we wouldnt want an asterick-less Barry Bonds to hold all those records would we? Better the cheaters get found out so that people know to discount and discredit their success.
