2. Moose and Berrian are quality....their D started faltering this year. Drating straight offense is a tremendous way to tank the team.
4. If they could sign Grossman for a 10 year 25 cent contract, maybe. Why would you want Grossman, seriously? He doesn't even know how to manage and not lose games, let alone win games. Talk about putting your money elsewhere, at least Briggs gets stuff done.
Trust me that the defense will be fine next year IF the philosophy changes next year. For the majority of this year they sat back and played their cover 2, letting opposing offenses pick them apart. The last 2 games of the season they blitzed like hell, which in turn helped them beat the Packers and the Saints. And the defense suffered as many injuries this year as any defense I have ever seen, including the Giants D this year. If they can get healthy next year they have a chance to be a great D again.
And Mushin is not a quality reciever anymore. He is just too slow to do anything in this league. Berrrian will most likely leave but they should at least attempt to sign him in the offseason.
And I do want the Bears to attempt to sign Grossman for cheap. People really don't understand how much talent that kid has. His problems are about 90% mental. When he got his starting job back in the middle of the season he only threw one INT in almost 4 complete games. People just look at his numbers and listen to other people rip on him constantly, then they decide that must be the verdict so they rip him too. Most people's hate for Grossman is just blind, or maybe the 2 games they've actually seen him play in were enough to decide his fate. If he goes somewhere else in FA he will be a good QB for someone. That is what players do when they leave Chicago, they all of a sudden get good. Bears fans are too quick to want to bury this kid.
And if they let him go where in the hell do they get a QB? Kyle Orton as the starter? Brian Griese? There are almost no options out there in FA this year so where the hell do they turn? Donovan McNabb? Our O-line would get him murdered. It would be as if he played against the Giants 16 games a year.
