I hate that damn 20 seconds after the match too...it's too damn long.

I just want to know what the real difference will be now between the two DLC packages. Since it won't exist in a physical form, what will I get for my $20 vs. the $15 buy? I'll probably go the $20 route just to get the Combustible stuff even if no one plays them. For $5 more I might as well go ahead and get it for the achievements.

In a way I'm not surprised at all about this. For one , Epic was probably (rightfully) afraid that with the announcement of the all fronts collection , that everyone who hadn't already bought the DLC would just hold off on buying them until the collection came out , which means money "lost" for them. For two , the fact that next week's XBLA deal of the week is the Combustible Map Pack seems to show that something might have been going down as well , unless they were just hoping to grab a few uninformed buyers sales.

Although part of what I said before is still true , I kinda had a brain fart in thinking that physical all fronts collection being cancelled meant that there would be no way to get the all fronts collection.

The more logical thing to assume , is that if the All fronts Collection content installed to the Hard Drive , and then the disc was no longer needed , that everyone would just start a congo line for the content and pay next to nothing to get the maps and everything.

New Deleted Single Player Chapter - Road to Ruin.

For $20 you get :
The Flashback Map Pack
The Combustible Map Pack
The Snowblind Map Pack
7 new multiplayer maps in the Dark Corners pack
New Deleted Campaign Chapter Road to Ruin.

what we appear to lose from the loss of the retail package:
an introduction to “Road to Ruin” from Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski (which will probably show up on XBL anyway)
a custom Xbox LIVE theme
a strategy guide.

They downgraded the expansion release. Totally fail sauce. IMHO.

Retail *has* been canceled. Someone asked Rod and he said it was a better..for who?

Here are your options now:
Dashboard (Requires Credit Card Info)
1000 for $12.50 (only if you have a 200-600 odd points left)
2000 for $25.00

Drive to your retailer (Gamestop/Bestbuy/Target/etc)
1600 for $20.00

Wait, so you get everything that was supposed to come with the 20 dollar retail pack except a video, theme, and guide? I dont really mind that. As long as i can get all those maps and the added level for 20.

I was mainly arguing the 'canceled because it was a disc and would've cost Epic a lot of money because it could have been shared' point was wrong. If you want a poster, draw on a piece of notebook paper with Gears of War 2 at the bottom.
 
I hope theres a strong criticism for this. I was looking forward to it.

You still get the additional maps for the same price. People may trash this, but I was really pissed that I had to pay for content twice. 1200 points is a much more reasonable proposition to me.
 
I don't see the point in them canceling the retail version of it. Retailers are probably pissed that it got canceled.

Because I've been sitting on a $15.00 GC to Toy R Us since I initially purchased Gears of War 2. Scoring all that content for $5.00 would have been awesome. I'm still holding out hope for a retail option.

You could always buy a 1600 points card for the same 5.00 using the gift card and get it. Just no poster, guide, video, theme.
 
WTF, sure the computer players they sub in for people who leave are nice, but they arent supposed to work against you. I play Guardian, and when i get these CPU subs, they always sprint to the frags and get them before i do. Then they just take off with them. Its annoying as all hell. A few times it happened when im the captain too. They grab them and leave me all alone to fend for myself. :bomb::bomb::bomb:

My rep has taken a dive since i played Gears 2 online. From 78% to 73% wow. Someone gave me bad rep cos i "stole" one of his kills. Gees, people steal my kills all the time, sometimes i get mad but i wouldnt say thats unsporting conduct, since its helping us win. Most of the time i get a kill someone downed its only worth 10 points. Oh well.
 
LOL @ such a small dive in rep. You're lucky. I had near perfect rep before I started playing Gears 2. I'm talking from 99% spanning quite a few different games to less than 40% after a week or so of playing the game. Relax... It's not that serious. Funny... but ultimately irrelevant. No MP experience is perfect and Gears 2 is one of the most laggy unbalanced releases I have ever played, but hasn't stopped me from getting my money's worth.

If the game is busting your chops that much it's probably time for a break.
 
My rep hasn't been that good ever since the first Gears. Haven't even checked since Gears 2 came out. Funny thing is I rarely/never do the reasons available except I generally cuss like a drunk I Irish sailor and yet I have a 0% for obscenity, and that's out of alot of negative votes. I think I'm still around 60% or so.

I think everyone's rep drops so much with Gears because in most match types people have much more time to stew about something and review another player after they died and are bored waiting for a round to end. That's the only time I really did it myself although most I've done are giving positive reviews for cool players or someone would have to be a real ass or glitcher for me to give a negative review. It's really rare that I've reviewed someone in a respawning game like CoD, just glitchers.

I say take a break and play some Horde. Amazingly enough I got to round 37 on pavilion the other day and my final score is ranked around 4400 for that map. I haven't really played G2 much as I've been waiting for MP to be fixed so that's my highest horde ranking. I also reached 37 on Avalanche, but I'm ranked around 20,000 there. How many have beat all 50 rounds in one sitting?

Can you really tell who gave what for your rep?

Not sure about other games but Gears 2 is basically the only multiplayer game I play. I barely played TF2, Uno, and Worms for a while but that's it. I was 100% preferred before TU3 and dropped to around 75% last month. I recently checked and I'm now 45% with some % being for "Unsporting Conduct" while before it was only for "Quit Early". I only quit if there's insane lag (more than normal) or obvious switchers/stanbyers (usually with a foreign country listed in their profile). If I do really bad, I wait right before the game is over so my crappy stats don't get worse. Keep in mind I started LIVE right before the new year.
 
Kind of annoyed that they're changing the whole package this close to it's release but I'll live.
And having low rep is a badge of honor because it means that you are good enough to piss people off to the point where they leave you bad feedback. Halo 3 pretty much dropped me way down there.

Well i cant be 100% sure, but my rep went down, unsporting conduct goes up, right after dude sends me a message about stealing his kill. So i put 2 and 2 together. I once got negative rep for language when i dont use a mic(i believe i was playing halo 3). To me that is unfair, because i never read how you HAVE to talk during XBL matches. Some people might not like people who dont talk, but the language rep isnt meant for that. In the end rep dont mean shit, because morons will negative rep you for the wrong reasons, like kicking their ass. I think im more annoyed by negative rep because i hate being labeled something that i am not.

Neither. All fronts Collection is a special download off XBL Marketplace that includes all the current map packs + the new Dark Corners Map Pack + New Campaign chapter. Requires GOW2 game.

wow I just got through an Annex match (lost both rounds on Blood Drive) and ended up receiving 0 exp; I wasn't even host. Has this ever happened to anyone here? I've gotten the 0 exp before but I might have been host those times and connection is average at best
 
It sounds like a classic example of mistaken identity, Gamer. The game mistook you for a lag switcher and decided to cheat you out of your points. Lame.
 
I just got back to playing this game from like a 2 week break and I thought I'd suck eggs. Turns out I was wrong, 2 second place matches and 1 first place, don't know how I did that!

I think I asked this before but is there a GoW2CAG gamertag or something? I'd love to play with some not-idiots, I don't care if you're bad or not, I'm no pro myself. I just want to play with people who aren't stupid.
 
Just beat the game for the first time since I tested it in June, I was surprised on how much stayed the same. When I was testing it they could not get the Brumak to work right at the end so I was left to wait several months until it came out to actually see what happend, but holy fuck was it worth it because that ending was EPIC.

But what's up with Adam at the end? I wonder if the Locust tricked the humans into sinking their last stronghold and now their takeover will be simple. Or maybe he's the Locus King and is just pissed off. I can't wait for Gears 3!
 
Just thought I'd let the people curious know, I ran in to a guy who had all his gamerscore reset for being lvl 100. He had two --'s next to his score and only had 1000 cheesemint points. Sucks for him.

I thought it was going to be released just like the Fallout 3 DLC pack. It'll come in a green DVD case with some nice artwork and a couple cards with the codes inside.

No, the retail release was canceled. It will be available on the marketplace for 1600 points, or you can get just the 7 new maps for 1200 points.
 
I really wanted the premium theme because all my pre NXG ones look all stretched out and I'm not shelling out 250 points for one.

Speaking of which, does anyone know of any free premium themes? Not the Adidas or Perfect Dark ones though, I don't like them very much.
