Meh. IMO they are the same guy. Both are tiny headed midgets.

I bet Vanderjagt will be receiving a few phone calls today. If the Bengals didn't have Shayne Graham, I'd definitely want them to pick up somebody like Vanderjagt.

as consistent Vanderjagt was he wasn't clutch in big games...
He missed one big kick last year.
he missed kicks against Pittsburgh, New England(2005), plus more..

Didn't both Gramatica's injure themselves celebrating

Anyways, I still feel Vanderjact is better than anything out there right now....we'll see when Gramatica starts missing and Vanderjact is gone

Lions still running for the #1 pick....now, who would they draft...another WR ;)

They will draft Joey Harringt...I mean Brady Quinn.
They need a damn offensive line. Kitna is fine.
I know what they need, but since when does Millen make sensible choices?

Kitna will get you to .500 but to get into the playoffs.. you need a better qb

Unfortunately, the Lions are mostly in a position where they need to draft skill players with their high 1st round pick. They apparently don't have the sense to trade down and stock picks.

In other news, the Dolphins are making the playoffs. We have the Bills, Jets, Jags, Pats, and Colts left. The Colts we play in week 17, where they will be resting all their top players. The Jags don't impress me, and with our D play lately, we should stuff them. The Bills and Jets we should beat. NE is a tossup, depending if the game matters to them.

But I'm happy to be talking playoffs, especially after that start! :applause:

You have to crawl before you can walk. Winning a T-Day game would be a good start.
Kitna will get you to .500 but to get into the playoffs.. you need a better qb
I'm pretty sure Kitna isn't the problem. It's basically the rest of the team.
No.
Agreed.

Let's look at it like this:

Division winners:
Patriots
Colts
Chargers
Ravens

Wild card: right now, you have two 7-4 teams, and three 6-5 teams. I think KC gets one spot, Cincy the other. The Jets have an easier schedule than Miami, and already have a game plus a tiebreaker over you.
I'm pretty sure Kitna isn't the problem. It's basically the rest of the team.
Yes it is the team, alot of them are not playing to their abilities especially on offense, but Kitna himself has played that outstanding of a season so far either. Also he's like 33 or so and not getting any younger. Plus there's the fact that this upcoming draft class has some of the promising prospects at the QB position for maybe a year or two to come. So given their draft position I think it's reasonable for the lions to draft a QB in '07. I say draft Quinn (or another prominsg QB), let him ride the pine for about a year and learn and then let him take over when ready (just like the Bengals did when they had Kitna/Palmer). If not they need to trade back and hopefully get someone else for a position they really need (like better DBs or a pure pass rusher on the line, etc.).

or lions could make a move for Jake Plummer..i know he aint a winner but it sucks when your job is on the line at week 1 which made him play considerably worse.

i think they should trade down get Troy Smith if he is not rated #1 and take a pair of DBs with the extra picks they get. and take a pass rusher in the 2nd or third round. i dont know how that will work but its an idea.

I think Jake could do ok there, but what do you give up? Broncos would want at least a 3, and you don't need to give that up.

I say draft the needs (Line) and if you find a good QB you can mold, go for it.

Jake Plummer is 40-18 as a starter with the Broncos. He does deserve some blame for what happened, but his running game and his recievers are much worse than they were a year ago and Shanahan has been running an offense that doesn't suit Jake's game this year (when you aren't running naked bootlegs for someone like Jake you are hoping he will fail).

Plus it was his defense that let him down in the Chargers and Colts games and the running game had no traction in the KC game. Also it was the secondary that is the reason that they did not make the super bowl last year and yet people still blame him because he threw picks and did not get any protection (I think any QB in a similar situation would have lost that game).

I am going to laugh when they don't even make the playoffs when with Jake they probably would have gotten the fifth seed and at least made it to the second round (hell I think they could have made it to the Super Bowl considering they beat the only real contender (the Pats) earlier in the year).

Lions and Playoffs don't belong in the same breath. I'm 32 fucking years old and those retards have one playoff win in my lifetime. The entire lions organization should kill themselves out of embarassment.

I dunno, Plummer might be a good fit, but he's not all that different from Kitna (at least IMO). And I like the plan, but I think Troy Smith will go pretty high and to be honest with the pass-heavy offense Martz runs you really need a pocket passer. I think if they do trade back they need to pick up a somewhat established college pocket passer for at least 2 years that they teach the offense to with relative ease in early round 2 pick or maybe round 3. Somebody like John Beck form BYU or even better Colt Brennan from Hawaii (if he enters) would fit well IMO and be a possible value outside of the 1st round. Honestly though, Lions fans just better hope they don't try to draft another wideout as their 1st pick... needless to say that hasn't gone too well for them so far (though Roy Williams is doing well this year).

Trading down to get Smith and a pair of DB's would be a great move, but that is about as realistic as trading a couple of your first round recievers to San Diego for LT.

The Lions need to clean house, everything gone, won't happen with Millen, but they need to clean house, Kitna ain't gonna be around that long, they have a nice set of players on offense with Williams,Jones,Furrey, and Backus and some nice defensive players, but it all starts with QB.

I know they need to clean house, I just think it's crazy to think they are going to parlay a high 1st round pick into Smith and 2 or more quality players.

The Lions will draft Quinn and they will regret it.
Ah yea, I just scored two Bengals v Ravens tixs for 25 each. I'm going to the game!
Wow, that's awesome. I'll be watching in a BW3's tonight either toasting the victory or drowning my sorrows.

fuck...Thursday night football should be on cable if not network TV. It's football. NFL football. Instead, I had CMU vs. Ohio on ESPN and the usual crap on the networks.

yeah I settled for the Office and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire... if they do decide to use the NFL Network then they would HAVE TO make it available to everyone... I'm not paying extra to get it.. I'm already paying a crapload to Comcast..

Get DirecTV and don't sweat it. ;)

I forgot the game was on last night...and I have NFL Network...go Comcast.

Oh well....go Lions! Lions BIG vs the Pats' this weekend...yep yep. ;)

What a mess the organization is...at least rumors are Millen will be fired. Hopefully Mike Williams plays again this week also.
the Lions like the Raiders need to sell the team to owners who want to win.
Yes because a team that has not won a playoff game in fifty years is definately on par with a team that went to the super bowl four years ago.
Why the hell is Chicago vs. Minnesota on in Florida?
Cause the Vikes are a powerhouse!

JK,

Typical Vikings though, get the ball at the 30 to start the game and only manage to lose 3 yards.

The Raiders are a far far cry from the team they were 4 years ago. The problem isn't necessarily that Al Davis is the owner. The problem is that he is the GM.

Both the Raiders and the Lions need competent people in their respective front offices.

They have a pretty good defense. If they get a better QB and upgrade the offensive line they could be a pretty good team. I don't think they are as far away as people think from being a good team again.

How 'bout them Packers?

Atleast I'm a Cowboys fan too, atleast they are going to make it look like they have a chance after the first quarter.

The NFC North is sweet.

Vikings have twice the yards and 4-1 turnover advantage in the first half...and are losing 7-3.
