Bah, Danny Ainge is retarded... The Kandi man is the worst #1 pick ever (unless Kwame shows no progress in the next 5 years). Seriously, he's flat out garbage, lucky for them he'll be a free agent after this year. How much is Mark Blount getting paid? I *hope* for Minnesota's sake it's not that much. Either way it's like trading an old ripped gym sock for a girl with an A cup's support bra. Both really aren't that useful.

Intangibles aside, this deal boils down to Wally and a 1st rounder for Ricky and 2 2nd rounders. I'm guessing the 1st round pick is protected for God knows how long, so if Minnesota decides to trade Garnett and completely re-build they won't lose out on a high lotto pick.

Anyway, I'd take Ricky ten times out of ten. Dafoomie, I agree with you 99% of the time with everything you post, but you said something about Ricky having the attitude problem and not Wally? Sczerbiak and KG used to clash all the time, and Ricky has been fairly quiet on a national level as of late.

At the moment though, I'd say that Boston just dicked themselves out of cap room in the short-run, while Minnesota finally got rid of Wally... course I'm sure C's fans are thinking the same about Ricky.

I remember the Wolves wanted to get Davis years ago when he was a free agent, but they couldn't afford him. It'll be interesting to see this trade really helps either team. At the moment I'd say they're both lotto bound. Glad I'm a Piston's fan.

Blount is garbage... Olowokandi probably won't see the floor in Boston, they just want Blount's contract gone. Here's Blount's salary for the next 5 years. 5.51, 6.12, 6.73, 7.35, 7.96. And I think theres a 15% bonus on top of that, for being traded. Enjoy, he's all yours. A 7 footer who can't rebound.

Ricky Davis has one of the worst attitudes in the NBA that doesn't belong to Kobe Bryant. He's the guy that tried to shoot at his own basket and grab the rebound, to try and get a triple double. He's me first, second, and third. He thinks he's better than Paul Pierce. He's a cancer. Maybe Garnett can shut him the fuck up. He's also a turnover machine and a defensive liability. I know Wally can't play defense either, but Davis is god awful. He takes stupid chances to try and get turnovers, that lead to an easy basket 99% of the time.

Wally is a better shooter and fits in better with Pierce. Not that Wally is a better scorer, but he fits in better with Pierce.

The 1st rounder Minnesota is giving up is in 2008, 06 and 07 have already been traded. It is lottery protected.

Ricky Davis makes just over 6 mil. Blount makes about 6. Wally averages 11.5, and Olowokandi doesn't matter, so the salaries even up for the most part. It really doesn't matter, because the Celtics have zero cap space until 2009, no matter what. And Wally's contract expires in 2009, along with LaFrentz. Blount will still be making 8 million in 2009, while Ricky Davis is a free agent in 2 years and will want the big bucks.

This trade is more for 2009 than it is for now, though it does help the Celtics now, in that they can still be .500, have a couple good players, and sell some tickets, while they're building for 2009 with youth.

I dunno I like it...

Wally is throwing up 20 ppg(yeah hes on my fantasy team and I didnt even know that), and the Celts unload problems in Davis in Blount. I liked Banks, thought he had potential, but the C's are loaded at the point so someone had to go. Like Dafoomie said, they have no cap room til 09 anyway, so why not? Fresh faces perhaps rejuvenate this squad.

"...and Szczerbiak chasing Paul Pierce around the perimeter, clapping his hands and yelling, "Hey, 34, I'm open!" 35 times a game. Yep, we'll endure."

hahaha

Ya... I can't say I'm sure how Blount and Kandi continue to get chances with teams, they're both garbage. At least Blount's contract doesn't start off too crazy, but I think it was a bad decision on Minnesota's part.

Interesting how the Celtics are trying to build around Pierce though, with so many rumors that Pierce is going to be traded. I wonder if those will die down with Ricky gone now.

The Mavs just completed the best road trip of the season by going 5-0. I can't believe people are still questioning their ability.

Barkley said he didn't think they could win the championship because they can't rebound or play defense.

But he didn't do his research. The Mavs are 6th in the NBA in overall rebounds per game. They're 4th in the NBA in rebounding differential.

This team is playing better defense than they have in a long time and have the deepest bench in the entire NBA.

If they can get by San Antonio in the playoffs, they win the championship.

Dunk contest participants have been announced.

Andre Iguodala
Nate Robinson
Josh Smith
Hakim Warrick

I think its going to be a good one.
Nate could be the next Spud Webb.

Should be a good contest.

Iguodala's in, I'm interested. I look forward to seeing what Nate Robinson has to offer, too. Josh Smith will probably jump from halfcourt. ;)

I love Igoudala, but when I went to the Steve Nash Charity B-Ball game, he had some open dunks but blew em, he has a great start but can't finish.

Oh yeah! BTW, Going tonight to see my Warriors lay the smack down on the Sonics! LETS GO MIKAEL PIETRUS!

The Pistons suck dick, I really hope they leave Chauncey, Rip and Ben off the all-star team so those motherfuckers wake up and beat scumfuck teams like Indiana and Atlanta.

Nobody wants to see them in the all-star game anyways. They're too boring
Go Warriors?
good luck with that. I can't even remember a year they didnt suck.

I can, well I can't because I was 4 but in 94' Run TMC baby. Timmy,Mitch,Chris was the best.

This year were a good team easily a #6 seed in the West, problem is we have Mike Montgomerey who doesn't know how to adapt to a situation very well.

Here's to the Warriors!

I agree, I hate every team from Michigan and think none of the Pistons players belong on the All Star team. Go Bulls! :)

It was nice to see Detroit lose to a team like the Hawks. And finally, the Mavs took it to the Laker and got a win.

We're now knocking on Detroit's door to have the league's best record.

Nuts to that... Pistons-Mavs (finally) finals? I'd still take the Pistons though, and you sir would have to take the Mavs. It's nights like this though that try my patience as a fan. I hope the Hawks beat the Mavs (if they still have a game against them) so they can say they beat the Spurs, Pistons and Mavs... damn Hawks. Pistons did drop a game to the Bobcats last year, nearly two actually.

I would love to see Dirk and the Mavs in the playoffs. I've love the Mavs since Dirk arrived, and Duncan and co. seem to be hampered by injuries and such, but don't count em out.

We beat them in the first game, but we still have one more game in Atlanta March 25.

I'd love to see a Pistons/Mavs Finals. Like you said, I'd have to take the Mavs. They are just way too damn deep for any team to beat them in a seven-game series.

I mean, they have guys like Van Horn, Stackhouse, Dampier, Daniels and Devin Harris coming off the bench! What other team has talent like that? Those five could start for a lot teams.

The knock on the Mavs have always been that they can't play defense, but they have clearly played good defense throughout the season, and haven't let an opponent score 100 points in the last 12 games.

The road to the Finals is going through San Antonio, like it always has. If we can get home-court advantage throughout the playoffs, I like our chances against them. Hell, I like our chances even if we don't. San Antonio is the oldest team in the league, and I think they are done for.

Assuming Dampier actually gets to play, I think Avery (and most of Dallas' fans) are favoring Diop these days. Dallas' main problem in the play-offs is going to be their lack of size in the starting line-up against Tim Duncan and then against the Wallaces. It will be interesting to see how either team tries to guard Dirk though. I'm also hoping Jerry Crackhouse gets to come back to Detroit, I'm sure he's just a little pissed about getting booted right before Detroit's back-to-back finals trips.
:shame: for shame
Actually shame on all yall,
it's Tim Hardaway, Chris Webber,Mitch Ritchmond.

if they had the stars doing the slam dunk competition like how they used to more people would be into it.

I dont even know who most the people are that are doing it this year.

wasn't chris webber with the bullets?

I'll sum it up for you.

J-Rich did the best dunk then, now, or will ever be. Jason Richardson = Best Dunker of All Time.
wasn't chris webber with the bullets?
Yes, you were right before it was Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway, and Mitch Richmond.

And responding to senorwoohoo, the off the backboard between the legs by J-Rich is #2. #1 is the under the basket reverse between the legs dunk. I like the off the backboard through the legs better myself but the fact is hes got the top 2 dunks of all time and hes the only person with 3 dunks in the top 10, therefore he is the greatest dunk contest dunker of all time.

Wasn't the Run TMC with Chris? Chris was with the Bullets correct, but I mean I was 4, but still C-Webb we had for his rookie year, got traded because he hated Donnie Nelson. Hmmm

The NY Post posted the Eastern All-Star reserves. It is not confirmed true yet. But damn if it is then 4 Pistons players just made the squad.

http://www.nypost.com/sports/63247.htm

East starters:
Shaquille O'Neal
Jermaine O'Neal
LeBron James
Dwyane Wade
Allen Iverson

NOT CONFIRMED YET

Reserves:
Vince Carter
Rasheed Wallace
Ben Wallace
Chauncey Billups
Rip Hamilton
Paul Pierce
Chris Bosh

Webber has been playing like shit, Philly isn't winning and Detroit is. Putting Webber on the all-star team at this point would've been retarded.

The only 2 players that should've gone from the Pistons should've been Big Ben and Chauncy, even if their was a 3rd, a glaring omission woulda been Tayshaun. Dude's a freak, still though Arenas, Kidd, Redd should've gone.

Damnit, I looked, last night the former Golden State Warrior Gilbert Arenas dropped 45 against my Warriors. Damn you Gilbert!
