*Official* NBA PLAYOFFS 2007 discussion
He was laughing and clapping right next to the official who was messing with him all night.

The Warriors will win this series in 7.
They can win in 6, not 7. Game 7... in Dallas. Yikes, just not gonna happen.

The Warriors just need to calm down and play their game. Game 3 should be easier since it'll be the first home game in 13 years. Then if they can carry the momentum over and win game 4 too, well that might just be enough. Lotta "ifs" but I'm hoping GS comes through.

I am rooting for Golden State but after there meltdown last night I think all the momentum is back to Dallas. I think Dallas will win in 6.
Goodbye Orlando, you really didn't belong in the play-offs to begin with. Have to get the brooms out Saturday.
As a Magic fan it has been nice to see them in the playoffs, but I agree that they don't deserve to be. I hate the fact that teams with losing records or slight winning records make the playoffs. Only the best teams deserve to play for a championship.
Detroit makes some amazing shots even when Orlando's defense is pressuring Detroit. But I'm still happy to see some more Magic games.

Currently 11-2 in PHX v LA game with just 3 mins gone by... disappointing

Anyone think the T'Wolves will let KG go with Kobe to LA next season?

I doubt they will. They are going to make a lot of changes but I still don't see them trading KG. He sells the tickets there.

Really just wishful thinking for both of them. But you know KG is dieing to get out of there unless they can convince Jerry Buss to let Kobe go to the T'Wolves.

I think Kobe's going to either take this game or the next one over and hit 50, and that will be the only game LA wins in this series.

Send Larry Bird a thank you card for eliminating his own team with that awesome Jackson/Harrington trade for crap.
The funny thing is the Magic probably would've won 2 or possibly even 3 games against the Cavs had they got that 7th seed. Cleveland blows.
Yeah really.

I was thinking of maybe going to the Magic game on Saturday, but I don't think I can sit through the rape. Would be kinda cool to see Grant Hill's last game (maybe) though :whistle2:k

Is that the word going around Orlando? I was thinking Hill would definitely try to play another season. Possibly go to San Antonio or somewhere else that he'd have a chance to win a title outside Detroit, as he's not really welcome back here IMO.

Yeah that's what I've been hearing, that this is in all likelihood his last year, but he may come back.

He's really not all that welcomed back in Detroit? Just pissed because he left, or did he leave on bad terms? I was pretty young so I don't remember all that well.

No, actually Joe Dumars was talking about trying to bring him back last off-season. He actually got a pretty good reaction when he finally played his first game back in Detroit years after leaving. I think the fact that Detroit got Ben Wallace and won a title while Grant spent most of his years on the sideline helped to ease the pain of his departure. I'd still boo him though, simply because he refused to meet with Joe Dumars when he left for Orlando. Not even a courtesy meeting, he told Joe there was no way he was being talked out of going to Orlando.
fuck yeah, just 1 game left and the Bulls are movin on.

The Heat have no answer for us at all.
As a pistons fan........fuck the bulls! :D

But on a good note....I am very happy to see them beating the Heat though.

I'm from miami right Before the 3 - 0 i felt one way and after the 3 - 0 i still feel the same and that is that if they are going to win they win but if they are not going to win then please just get swept i want some drama i want some changes that is an overall old team alot of those people need to retire already , shaq, mourning, payton .

and more than a heat fan im an nba fan so go bulls and may the best team win and may the worst team get swept

I dont think shaq will retire for another 3 years. I hope gary payton reitres becaues its been a long ass time since he was "The Glove" he is more like a glitten now.....

Mourning......meh I dont care one way or another about him.
Ya... because an 87.5 winning percentage against one team over the course of 8 games is almost always just luck
Judging from your confidence and uncanny ability to compute a winning percentage, I'd imagine you put some serious money down on Golden State given the odds. Then again, looking back in this thread, that may not be the case.

If you'd like to continue to flaunt your arrogant attitude my way because you disliked something I said, go ahead, I won't bother to dignify you with any further responses. Once you get tired of doing that, I'm sure you can go back to making threads whining about your girlfriends roommate situation in order to get attention.

Ah, yes arguging without logic, and using completely unrelated events in an attempt to justify the assinine comment you made. Often the workings of a man with a valid point

Just to further prove the stupidity of your "fluke" comment, here's the score of the last 7 games Golden State beat Dallas in:

97-85
109-91
107-104
117-100
111-82
114-102
122-121

I'm sure complex subjects such as "math" are very difficult for you, so I'll break that down for you, it's an average score of:

Golden State, 111 - Dallas, about 98.

Hmm, an average margin of 13 points a game :whistle2:k YEP! Looks a lot like a fluke to me!
I still think it's a fluke that GS has taken the last 7 of 8 from Dallas, but we'll see.

I do hope they pull off the upset.
7 of 8 isn't a fluke, it's a trend.
7 of 8 isn't a fluke, it's a trend.
That and some Pacers help.

I am not a Pacers fan, even though I do live in Indiana, but how in the hell does Larry Bird (retorical; he's Larry Bird and in Indiana) keep his job after such a terrible trade with GS? Lets send a guy they had a boner for all offseason, a decent guy with an attitude problem, and a recent 1st round pick (I think) to GS for Dunleavy, Murphy, and some scrub (sorry if he's not a scrub, can't think of his name). Thats seems reasonable . And then fire Carlisle because he couldn't win with what he had. /rant

As for the playoffs, I'm still liking my dream Finals matchup (for this year, we can have Jordan's Bulls go against Redd's Celtics) of the Suns and Bulls. The Bulls should be well rested for Cleveland, assuming they don't slip up against the Wiz.

I really haven't been following Golden State too much but they were playing out of their minds last night. GS has some good young guys and could be better next year if Baron Davis doesn't take his annual half-season vacations.

The Bay is back. When the Warriors kept making the push, I was hoping we would play the Mav's. IMO, Dirk isn't a MVP type player, he's not the one I want with the ball when I need a shot made.
Bye Orlando.
Expected but now they are going to comeback stronger. Maybe Reddick and Darko will do some major training in the off season.
Expected but now they are going to comeback stronger. Maybe Reddick and Darko will do some major training in the off season.
I think they'll be weaker. Darko is probably leaving, he doesn't like the way Orlando uses him apparently and wants a more active role in the offense. Hill is probably leaving, he'd like a shot at a title before he retires, I'm guessing he'll be a Spur next year. They have no first round draft pick in one of the deepest drafts ever, but they got Darko for a year and a half! Unless they land a major free agent, I don't see this team advancing at all. There have been rumors that they might get Vince though, so that would definitely make me change my tune. If I was an Orlando fan, I'd hope they went after Rashard Lewis instead.

Oh, and I dunno about Reddick. One thing is for sure, he can't have a worse overall season than he had this year. Although, he did start looking better towards the end of the year.

I'm not writing them out of the play-offs. I just don't see them competing with Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Toronto and Washington next year with what they've got now. The east is still the east right though, and should be fairly open at the bottom, even if guys like Oden & Durant both land on this side of the Mississippi (save for Memphis).

I wouldnt be so sure on darko otis definatley likes darkos potential, he played very well today up against resheed. as for future changes id imagine brian hill will not stay around. Dont forget we also get out of grant hills contract and after getting rid of fransis last season we have some serious cap room to make a big deal jsut depends on who we can get. deiner might also be on his way out teams have been showing interest in him since the summer league. then again without a new building in the future whos even sure of the overall picture of the magic.

Darko is a girly-man, and as such he doesn't like playing in the post for Orlando. In Darko's mind he is a Dirk-type player, that should be out on the perimeter shooting 3's, driving in for jumpers, or passing in to someone like Howard. So the NBA rumor-mill has Darko leaving to a team that will let him do that. He's probably going to get a ridiculous amount of money thrown at him by some foolish team, because that's just the way the NBA works. Orlando has the money, as you said, to resign him, but that money could surely be spent better doing something else.
Go Warriors, I can't stand the Mavs.
I wouldn't be suprised, if the Mavs go down 3-1, to see Mark Cuban try and start a fight with somebody on the Warriors staff

Give him another 2-3 years and he'll still be in the league, building up a role as a solid - if not spectacular - sixth man.
Bye-bye Orlando either way.

Utah is dominating Houston right now... Something I didn't expect, actually. I would've figured that Houston would've taken a 3-1 lead, then needed 2 games to close the series out.
Is there anyone who is honestly surprised that Miami is being dominated? Last season, Miami was simply ho-hum almost the entire way, and managed to turn it on in the playoffs. This season, Miami played ho-hum, but instead of being a high seed playing a lesser team that they could easily handle (especially considering they weren't riddled with injuries), they're facing a healthy team that's been playing good basketball for this entire season.

Tomorrows games:
Chicago - Miami :: Wouldn't be surprised to see an eager Chicago team take out a wounded Miami team while they're down. The Heat don't have a lot of fire (no pun intended) right now.
Phoenix - Los Angeles :: I don't think Kobe is going to turn it on and will the Lakers to another win until they're down 3-1.
New Jersey - Toronto :: I think this'll be a close one (maybe going into overtime even), but the Nets will pull this one out at home, take a commanding series lead, and win the series in six now. Toronto, for as talented as they are, seem to be choking a bit on the big playoff stage.
Dallas - Golden State :: As much as I want to see Golden State win, I think they'll actually be amped up a little too much, being at home and all, and allow Dallas to build up an early lead that they'll hold through the game (but just barely). This'll end up being a close game once Golden State calms their nerves down.

Darko laughs at your suggestion of him being a "sixth man". Yet another of Darko's demands is that he get to start, and get more playing unearned playing time of course. That crazy Darko, little Diva isn't he?

on my way to the heat game... hopefully we can sneak out atleast one win... if not o well

hopefully the warriors can continue...

aslong as the pistons and mavs get beat!!

He's his own worst enemy in the league. He expects teams to give him everything when he hasn't earned anything. He was that way in Detroit: He wanted playing time immediately on a team that already had a good 10-man rotation set, including 4 players at the F/C position. I think he'll learn eventually.

Bulls sweeping the defending champs out in a 4-0 was the first in 50 years.
It's a hell of a time to be a Bulls fan.
Pistons vs Bulls is going to be the series to watch in the East.
crap it sucks to go to a game and get eliminated..
Especially when your team doesn't even try in the 4th quarter... I'd have been pretty pissed. Did you chant... something... "Goldberg" ?

p.s. pippen wide/gf is hot. i thought espn voted pippen as one of the ugliest player in the nba.
