*Official* NBA PLAYOFFS 2007 discussion

I was hoping Chicago would start off a lot better, make it REAL interesting >.>

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to the Warriors-Jazz game :D
28-14... Chicago is off to a great start again
They are setting it up for something amazing.
The real bad part is Chicago got Chandler by trading away Elton Brand... imagine that guy on this Bulls team, they'd have little trouble scoring inside. Instead the Bulls have basically traded away Elton Brand for PJ Brown!
I know. EB is and will be one of my favorite players for a long time.
Dream on. The Bulls were a joke before the play-offs even started, getting blown out in that important season ending game by Jersey was enough to seal the deal IMO. What I love is how all these closet Bulls fans came out of the woodwork after Chicago swept Miami, unfortunately for you guys now that Chicago is up against a real team they don't stand a chance.
The Bulls are a joke. Time to put away your Jordan jerseys and get back on whoever's bandwagon you're on now.

Also, I don't know why everyone is on this Jazz thing too, that team is a joke and will probably get annihilated by the Warriors.

I'm just looking forward to game 2 of the NBA Finals between Phoenix and San Antonio.

QFT :D
QFT :D
Heh, I don't think so. If Phoenix rebounds and makes it to the finals, they'll get crushed by Detroit. Steve Nash gets embarassed every time he plays Billups.

Probably be Detroit vs San Antonio though, hopefully this time Robert Horry doesn't steal a game and cost us the series.

I don't really know why Chicago was getting hyped up so much before this series, but they have a legitimate shot at winning a couple games at home if Ben Gordon can hit and take some shots...

This game isn't over yet

The only way Phoenix can rebound is if Shawn Marion plays well, without him the Suns won't win anything. Nash and Stoudemire can get their numbers.

I say Spurs over Pistons in 6 for the finals

Let's not be so pessimisstic.

:whistle2:k how did Chicago even make the play-offs? I really don't think they would've in the West.

Their shooting this season must have been spectacular, with Detroit breaking them down, it really shows they don't have a good distibutor. Really it's a team with 1, maybe 2, slasher(s) and the rest shooters. Another reason they're getting killed is because of the lack of post production. If Ben Wallace is your leading scorer at the end of the third, there's something wrong.

But again if Ben Gordon gets hot they may steal a couple games.
Stat of the night: Free Throws Attempted!

Chicago - 34
Detroit - 15

The Pistons still win by 21, Chicago IS a joke
I thought Chicago had like 50?
I thought Chicago had like 50?
You're right, it was 52 to 23, ridiculous! My internet must not have been updated yet on the stats.

Go Jazz.

tough tough tough tough win for the Jazz tonight.. especially without Fisher (who, admittedly isn't the best PG in the league but well above Dee)

proof we can run with this team.. The Jazz have got to execute better they may not be lucky (thats right, me uber jazz fan said lucky) to win like we did tonight..

Deron had a huge game with 31 points.. but the 6 TOs really suck..

Boozer seems a little nervous he needs to relax and play like he did in the Houston series..

While you can't base a series on one game if the Jazz can get game 2, this may go 7 and in the Jazz's favor.. but if GS wins.. it might be GS in 6..

but.. AK is back.. I'm so glad we did NOT trade him and he completely kept us in this ball game with his defense.
Can Jazz score like that every game?

Great game.
Who knows, but the Jazz certainly showed me a level of versatility that I didn't know they had prior to that game. Winning games in the 70s against Houston and now nearly in the 120s against Golden State.

Game 2 between Phoenix and San Antonio should be huge, obviously a must win game for the Suns.

I was a bit frustrated with Golden State. They should have won this game by at least 5 points.

Jackson showed some poor dribbling and decisions, turning the ball over at least 5 times in the second half. Davis should have passed it back out on a couple occasions, and they should have kept feeding the ball to Richardson, since he was getting hot on the 3 pt shot.
What annoyed me the most was that they did not attempt to get many offensive rebounds.

Other than that, they played very well. Hopefully they can put the Jazz back on their heels in Game 2, I think this is far from over >.>

And another thing, what does Charles Barkley have against Golden State?
And another thing, what does Charles Barkley have against Golden State?
This goes back a long, long way. Some fans in game 3 and 4 didn't take kindly to Charles' comments about Dallas winning the series still.

Following game 2, Charles said that Dallas would win the series in 5. After game 3, he still insisted the Mavericks would pull this series out in 6.

So, for game 4 the Warriors had a big video on their titantron of Charles, with their mascot animated over Charles' photo, throwing an animated pie into Chuck's face.

After Barkley saw that, he said man I hope Dallas crushes them chumps. He also wore a Mavericks jersey in the studio that night. Charles also spent the rest of the night talking shit about the Bay Area, saying he'd never go there. Naturally Barkley was upset when Golden State went up 3-1, but was even more sad to find out his beloved Krispy Kreme donuts have their headquarters in San Francisco.

I believe all of this stems back to Charles being the man responsible for Golden State's last play-off exit. As some of you know, the Warriors didn't make the play-offs for another 13 years after losing to Phoenix in the first round in '94. In the series clinching game, in Golden State, Charles dropped 50 on the Warriors.

Or it could be the fact that C-Web dunked all over Charles in the play-off's.

I'm not suprised the Warriors lost, a lot of calls that could've been called in our favor would've helped, Deron Williams played perfect, I just don't see the Jazz being able to play this great throughout the series.

Paging Monta Ellis, please show up.

The warriors remind me of the Oakland Raiders :p

They have a rough style of play, have a rough attitude, and tend to pick up a lot of fouls which on just about all of them argue or contend.

I hate how sports have gotten so technical that part of the game is drawing the foul :/
I want to see a Suns-Warriors WCF SO BAD!
Same here, that would be an awesome fast-paced series.

They'd match each other so well, it could go either way, and probably down to the wire in a game 7. I'd be rootin' for the warriors all the way

Honestly, I'd rather see a Spurs/Warriors WCF.

I don't think Warriors/Suns would be as competetive as you might assume on first glance. The Suns can play the style of ball that the Warriors play, except they can play it better...and they WILL play it better. They're more efficient, they're not as streaky as Golden State, running and gunning on both ends will wear down injured B-Diddy in a big way, and GS's scrappy defense can only go so far against a team playing high-octane for literally 48 straight minutes. I think the Suns would run away with it...they can excel playing a smallball style, while still having a potent frontline.

Spurs/Warriors, however, would be fun. Honest to God, I think the Warriors could potentially take that series. They probably wouldn't, but San Antonio is a team who is beatable if they lose their veteran composure - and a scrappy team who will get in your face on defense then go drain a three on the other end is the type of team that could give the Spurs a headache. Timmy won't bow out as ungracefully as Dirk did, though...so they'd be the clear favorites, but that'd be a heck of a series, I'd wager.

Oh, and in the East, as a longtime Knick fan known to hold grudges, I refer you to the old saying: "F the Bulls, and F the Nets. F 'em both with no regrets." Thankfully, my newly-beloved DEEEEEEEETROIT PISTONS are getting the job done so far, and hooray to LBJ too.

WTF? As a Knicks fan, you are rooting for the Spurs?

Did you forget who defeated the Knicks in the finals in 1999?
Chicago doesn't even have any of the players which beat the Knicks during those years. I too am a Knicks fan, but I got nothing against the Bulls now (only Jordan and Pippen).

^ Ohh I am NOT rooting for the Spurs at all. "Remember The Alamo(dome)."

I just think the Spurs/Warriors series would be better to WATCH, as a basketball fan in general.

Though honestly, I'm less attached to the Spurs rivalry considering it was a one-time thing and wasn't really that competetive of a series...but the Bulls rivalry, the Heat rivalry, the Pacers rivalry, etc, I grew up with those, I can't get over 'em, even if none of the old players except for Zo are still involved.

I'll say this much...

Carlos Boozer has been a MUCH better pro than I ever thought he would be. Once he stared losing weight he just took his game to a whole other level.

YEa well...his thick-ass eyebrows with a bald head is....strange

He's definitely getting the last laugh over the CarlosLoozer.com guys.

I love that aspect of Carlos Boozer; he'll forever be the ultimate villain to an entire city/fanbase.

Makes it fun to root for the guy, considering I have no attachment to either team (Utah or GS).
who did the suns lose to last year?
Mavs in the Western Conference Finals.

Spurs took one in Phoenix, lets see if the suns can do the same

(Hopefully not)

where the hell have all these warriors fans been all year?

the jazz will just bury them inside and in the rebounds again just like last game.. boozer didn't have a very good game last game expect that to change tonight..

the jazz have the best shot against phoenix then detroit.. but if the spurs win that series.. the jazz don't have a chance..

and whats with the reseeding talk.. so that the 2 and 3 seeds don't meet in the second round?.. i mean if the 1st seed won the first round and since the jazz are the 4th (really 5) it would have seeded out exactly the same in the second round.. its just because of the warriors that everyone wants to whine about..

I'm tired of hearing "oh how great GS is .. they are surprising" they are an NBA team that wasted dallas in the regular season.. and its all about matchups.. when GS grows 6 inches to play with the 4 forward lineup (harpring, Ak, booze, Memo) then maybe.. the Jazz played their style and still won..
and its all about matchups..
Word, this is exactly why as a Suns fan teams like the Spurs and Pistons scare me more then Dallas. I think the Suns matchup with Dallas better then they do the other two teams.

On a side note, I'm glad that Coach D'Antoni made an adjustment and started Kurt Thomas on Duncan last night. With him able to man up on him it helped the team defensively. Then this team wants to, they can play some decent D.

Deron Williams picked up two fouls in less than one minute of action so far in the 1st quarter, this cant be good for the depleted jazz pg's

For some reason, I will always remember the Magic drafting then trading him; somewhat reminiscent of C Webb, except they got a pretty good player for him...
