I mean...his shooting is 95. I score on slap shots with him, douche shots, he sets up goals, he can hit. He's one of my only players who's averaging over a point per game. I do better with him than I do with Bobby Hull (which I would imagine is being more comfortable with a righty as opposed to a lefty).

I don't know. What are you trying to do with him? Take him to lunch?

I don't know. I have ever Him, Thorton and Jagr on a line. I try to snipe with Bossy and nothing. I don't get it. He's playing shitty for me even with a Assistant card on him. So, I just sold him for 105k.

Well, we've been getting high up in the division ranks again. So, the games have been a lot tougher. We were talking last night about just going ahead and making the new team...mostly because we can't wait to have it. The KFCmen

Once we do that, and go back to division 10...the games will probably be easier. That would be the time to play if you want low intensity.

The times I get frustrated is when we get stuck in a rut doing the wrong things...and then turn around and complain about the game. There's plenty wrong with this game...but if we're not playing smart, then bitching about it just seems silly.

Also...thanks, Gary for infecting me with your disease...buying packs. I decided to sell Jonathan Quick after he went 2-6 with a 86% save percentage for me. I got 81,000 for him, rebought Dubnyk for 5,400, and started buying packs. Just pulled a TOTW Wingels (which I'm just going to do the "boost and quick sell" trick on) and a NYI team change in the same pack. Paid for that one. Now, I continue, haha.

Thanks, Garybama. ;)

Well, I'm definitely out of practice. And my health issues and the medications I take as a result both cause me to have trouble focusing at times. So I just don't want to fuck things up and ruin everyone's enjoyment of the game.

Sorry Nate. I spent 50k on the 8k packs. Got a TOTW Chara and sold him. And I did it again and wasted my coins.l to 0. It's an addiction. But Bossy sold and I'm back up to 100k. I'd do collections but man, I feel like I won't be getting coins back at any rate. So yes, 100k of coins to packs. And I pulled a Vorcheck last night and wasted those. So is the $20 thing true now? Possibly

Also, yeah our play has really improved. I have good chemistry with everybody but I can read Nate's mind mostly. I see him high slot and know he'll get that one knew timer off. I'm down for games tomorrow afternoon before the big game if anybody wants to play.

Yeah, I'm kind of ok with developing a pack addiction now just because I think I'm done shaping my team. It's really as good as it needs to be, and adding more high end players isn't going to help me do any better. And really...I don't want to do better, lol. I'm camping in Division 2 and as long as I can stay there, I'm good. I guess it would be nice to win games more easily, but I really don't believe getting better and better players affects that a tremendous amount.

We started out red hot last night. And I think the difference by the end of the night is we stop looking to set up goals and tend to just start looking for our own shot. The whole "puck carrier skates it in and shoots" thing. And sometimes, that's the right play...if you assess it's the best chance for a goal and you've got a high percentage shot. But if you're pulling up, circling, etc. and still just end up throwing it on net, then we're getting pretty one dimensional and not giving them different things to think about. Keeping our attack varied all night is something we can work on.

So, that SNOW game is actually really good. It's F2P, so of course it has all kinds of unlockables that you can buy. But just in my first run with it, I really enjoyed flying down a mountain on skis. The controls aren't bad either and almost immediately, it starts teaching you how to do tricks. The Rift support was pretty good too. Full VR menus that you can navigate with the controller. And you can easily switch between 1st person and 3rd person view by pressing up on the dpad (3rd person view is definitely less vomit inducing...do not go on half pipe in 1st person...)

For as long as the game was in a paid beta and early access, it seems that they did a decent job with it. And it has multiplayer. :)

Also, they did do a fight companion for last night's event, haha. These are great to listen to (not all in one sitting, of course). The first 10 minutes is gold.

It's so bad. I sold my Bossy and blew through all 100k. I need help.
Dann...I mean, again, it's something to do. I would be careful spending too much real money on packs though.

If you can sell cards and keep using your coin supply, there's no harm. But it's probably not a good thing to continuously dump money into.

I bought that one pack that had the Datsyuk and that brought me to 210k. Bought Bossy and brought me down to 110k. And then somehow I went insane with packs. So, just spent maybe $8. Oh and that Voracheck as well which was 60k. I think I'm down to 20k zbut still have at least 100 cards left to sell.

Yeah, see, that's the problem...getting bogged down by the auction limit. I would guess that's why some people underprice their cards and/or just quick sell. Unless it's anything major, I wonder if it's just better to unload it quick and move on.

So I just opened 6 bronze reward packs and pulled a TOTW Dubinsky that is 87 OVR. It is a nice pull for me since I was using his standard card as my 1st Line center with an Alternate Captain card on it.

Also, the auction house is crazy right now. Standard gold contract cards are selling for 500 buy it now and I'm seeing a lot going for 650. When I got on about an hour ago there were only 5xx gold contract cards listed.

Yeah it was. Bought it with my coins though.

Like I said, I'm still selling players from all those packs. I looked an hour ago and still have another 100 to sell.

I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, even though most of you have it on Steam, you'll get it here so we can hit giant balls with cards when hitting tiny pucks with sticks pisses us off.

I'm not sure what I see Nate except the ref not being in position correctly.
Well, I had a guy on the EA forums trying to tell me that the crossers were legit and that my goals were garbage. His logic was that goalies SHOULD get beat when having to move laterally quickly...and not just miss shots. The problem I have with that is completely putting the blame on the goalie and not considering the defensive positioning (or the defender ability) at all.

The way I see it, he gave me those goals because he took his own human controlled defender and gave me room to take an uncontested shot (other than the rebound goal...but that was just a right place/right time kind of thing). Conversely, my defense was in position to make a play and just didn't. I don't know how anybody could consider those "better plays".

Also, I think I might have coined the new "u mad bro?" I just told a guy "you seem upset, brother" Seems way more classy.

With 25 cards left and when I spent everything and had 500 coins left, I'm now up to 80k with selling. Thinking I might hit 90k.

Yeah, I pulled a Kessel yesterday when my coins were almost gone and got my total up to around 85k again. I'm back down to around 12k now though. Been pulling mostly crap. It's really weird. It seems I either pull 88+ guys or don't pull anyone over an 83. Those common players that are always cheap to on the auction house (Jagr, Sharp, Faulk, etc) never show up in any of my packs.

I think if I really crap out and lose all my coins, I'll mostly be done with HUT. I do still enjoy playing with my team, but opening packs will become much more of a grind if I have to earn coins from signing on every day and playing games. I guess all it takes is one special card to get my numbers back up though. But we'll see if that ever happens.

After all was said and done, made 85k coins. Alrrady down to 20k. Put a bid on Johnson for 20k and Hedman 40k. Whether I win or not, who knows. I do see the prices dropping again.

Yeah, it's cause of that super uber player pack they did yesterday. Crazy that people pay $20...and buy several of them. You could probably max out a credit card in about 10 minutes, lol. Kind of sad.

I can't stand HUT games. Same douche dekes and glitch shot. Holding the puck to the side. Just real pieces of shit. I put my settings on as usual and my D just fucking scrambles like chickens with their head cut off. This game is so God damn broken it's sad. The team I have and defense I have, Nobody should be even getting into the zone. But no, this game just rewards ass fucks for being completely fucktards. God. I'd love to personally go and throat kick these people and EA.

I don't mind the holding the puck out to the side as a means for avoiding poke check spam or trying to get to a better angle on a shot (which is how I use it)...but the people who do it and get that forcefield "can't hit me" crap, I can't stand. You should be able to do whatever you want with the puck. There should just be equally effective counters for it. That's why I've started stick lifting a ton this year. To me it seems like the only real way to guard against the cheap stuff.

As for the AI letting people by, I feel like EA fucked it up when they introduced the new skating engine and they boasted about how you could fake one way and then turn back and go the other way. I'm pretty sure everybody was skeptical of it then saying "well, how easily is the AI going to get fooled?" And of course the answer is "extremely easily", lol.

It's crazy how you can have 5 defenders back, stacked on the blue line...and your opponent will still be able to skate it deep into the zone just by faking back and forth a couple times. The AI just won't hold their ground. They spaz out like they don't realize the only person they have to worry about is the puck carrier. But no, they back off and let him race right in.

A play like that is a perfect scenario to show off the dump and chase mechanic. But 9 times out of 10, that's not what ends up happening.

I think I finally figured out my goalie situation too. After having success with regular Eddie Lack in my "scrub lineup", I wondered if his TOTW card would make him "too good" where he started giving up dumb goals. It makes him an 87 OVR with ratings of 86, 87, 88, 88, 88. So, I grabbed it like 4-5 days ago, and he's been playing great. Something like a 7-3 record with a 90% save percentage. And I just finished a game where he had a 29 save shutout, stoning the likes of Bobby Hull and Mike Modano.

Lack is a beast, man. I almost scored a goal with him too. The dude pulled his goalie in the last minute and the puck eventually got thrown back into my zone. Lack came out to play it, so I squared up and launched it toward his net. It got to the crease...and time ran out. Dammit! Even when cool shit happens, the game is like "nope...not today". Would have been so awesome.

But definitely try out TOTW Eddie Lack. He goes for around 12k...which might seem high for an 87 OVR goalie, but he's outperforming guys like Quick and Crawford by a mile.

I'll have to check out Lack. It's just a shame that a 91 Lidstrom is getting beat by an 85 Callahan. Makes no sense to me. Louie has been performing well, but I'm tempted on Bishop.

NHL 16 finally got a new update last night. Allegedly, input lag is now gone. They also added the winter classic jerseys and some more AHL 3rd jerseys. The "guy never comes out of the penalty box" glitch is supposed to be fixed too.

The few posts on reddit I've seen from people who have played it have said the lag seems much better. I should be around tonight if anyone wants to test it out.

Tuner notes:

FEB 11 - TUNER

- Increased attribute effect range to create more player separation.
- Increased range of attribute effects for goalies so that the weaker goalies are further separated from the best ones.
- Lowered EASHL AI goalie attributes slightly.
- Faceoffs are now equal across all EASHL forward classes to rule out any balance issues.
- Re-Balanced EASHL Power Forward class attributes slightly.

FEB 10 - TUNER

- Increased goalies ability to save slower low shots and passes towards the net.
- Increased referee strictness when teams were already shorthanded so that penalties no longer go uncalled.
- Increased pokecheck success when in proper position.
- Increased penalties from stick lift at wrong angles.
- Removed the effect protecting the puck has in resistance to being hit (either with protect puck or holding the puck out away from your opponent). Note: Being in a controlled glide with full balance and/or limiting the relative speed of the hit will still be advantageous over skating, performing an action or higher relative speed hits when trying to stay in control.
Funny how these are all basically things they repeatedly try to fix year after year with little success. These fixes basically add up to "made the game not shitty". It's really embarrassing that they had to be told that penalties should still be called even if the team is shorthanded. Freaking idiots.

Yeah, I saw that. Hoping it doesn't nerf the way the sniper class plays at all.

And that's an interesting read. It's kind of funny that people are making the argument that the "only difference" is players being a few points worse but being significantly cheaper. Well duh...that's the basis of the entire card market. That's the difference between an 87 OVR and an 88 OVR...it's usually just a couple points here and there, but the price jumps way up.

That's also the argument for using guys like Mason Raymond or Grabner or Gaudreau. You get that super crazy speed and just ok shot accuracy. And those guys are a hell of a lot cheaper.
