Holy shit I actually had a guy get called for a goalie interference last night. I think I was able to get it recorded, so those of you that have me as a friend might have seen it in the feed.

Well, if it's just going to be you, me, and Brandon (like last night...*cough* thanks for that Gary *cough*), I vote for Steam. I updated my GTA V, so we could mess around in that (every time I load up the game now...I just follow pedestrians and murder them. That's all I want to do, lol). Or we could play Rocket League...or anything else that doesn't suck a thousand dicks.

I can jump in tonight. Understand if you guys don't want me around, I hadn't really played well at all the last few times.

Here's a very decent Steam bundle for under $2.

https://www.indiegala.com/monday

Axis Football 2015

Baseball Mogul 2015

Football Mogul 2014

Real Boxing

Shred! Downhill Mountain Biking

Winter Sports Trilogy Super Pack

Also, I played Hatred earlier, zoned out, and lost track of about 40 minutes. Is that bad? lol

Might be worth it to give Axis a shot.

I think thats the point of Hatred lol, I wouldnt exactly say that it was designed to really make you think

And to round out the Steam news, Vertiginous Golf is free until tomorrow afternoon (1PM ET). According to PC Gamer (by way of IndieGameBundles), it's not like a "free to play until" promo, but an "add it to your account and you own it" promo. So, everybody should definitely pick that one up.

Definitely would recommend.

In other news, I think my HD that has all my shadowplay recordings died...so the bat fight might be gone :(

Axis Football worth the price of admission just for the team names alone.

Particularly amusing what they did with Washington.

EDIT - Played a bit of Axis Football...and while I'm not sold on the gameplay just yet (though I was playing with shit ass Tennessee), the commentary is hysterical. I won't spoil it, but it rivals the old school Maddens with the one liners.

Also, people are doing some really cool modding for it.

YES!!! So awesome! I just hope these modes maintain the fun. Considering how the Delorean DLC was kind of a fail, they have to be careful not to alter the core gameplay too much that it takes anything away.

In theory, hockey pucks and beach balls seem amazing. I just hope they don't introduce any annoying problems. It's like Rocket League hit a grand slam in its first at bat...so duplicating that kind of feeling is going to be a challenge.

Oh, also...the Need For Speed trial is up on EA Access for anybody who still has it (or let their month to month auto renew like me and Alan, lol). The EA site says it's not supposed to be up until 10/29, but it's available now. As I always say...if it has underglow..I will buy it, lol. You are not going to sell me "urban car culture after dark" without underglow. I don't care if it's not 2002 anymore. :)

Edit - Well, first strike against NFS, no cockpit camera...meaning they were too lazy to model the interiors of the cars...again. I guess as an arcade racer, that's fine. But it's still kind of lame.

I like the FMV cut scenes. It's funny how many games are going back to that style. Definitely makes the game feel more cinematic...if you can excuse the often corny acting.

Just got into the garage and I see no option for underglow. You're dead to me, EA, lol. You can customize your car's sound system though...which seems even dumber. Seems to have a good amount of other customization options...but they have to be unlocked, of course.

I'm kind of getting the "typical EA" vibe here. The game seems cool and it looks good...but it also seems to be unrealistic and lack substance. That's basically par for the course for EA. Unless the multiplayer modes are amazing, I doubt this one is worth more than $30.

RIP Arcade racing genre
Yeah, can we just have Rocket League do that too? It can be every game ever. Let us rob banks with the cars and it can be Payday. Strap rifles to the cars and it can be Call of Duty. We only need one game...and its name is Rocket League.

But there's no moving jerseys or mascots!

Wow, Alan...what you saw on your screen for when you pulled the door off my car and when I shot the guy on the motorcycle was TOTALLY different from what I saw, haha. That motivated me to get my video put together.

I just threw everything from the past few weeks in there. Bat fight included. :)

I also don't know why my mic is so freaking loud on my end. The audio in your video was way better balanced.

Weird, since we're connecting to Rockstar's servers, you would think that we would see the same thing since we are both client side. Computers, how do they work!?!?!

I actually have the opposite as you with Shadowplay though; my mic is quiet, while everyone else is ok. Since it's every game, it should obviously be a Shadowplay setting, but unless I am using an outdated version, I can't figure out any setting within shadow play. Maybe it's a Windows recording level thing...

Nate, Harmonix put out an update on the RB website that the bundles of songs should be showing up correctly now so you can just download owned packs instead of having to download each song individually.

Awesome. That's a good step in the right direction. They've still got a long road to bring the game up to what people were expecting/hoping though. I really hope they can get something figured out with Microsoft because otherwise wired instruments and even the Rock Band Stage Kit will never work.

Not allowing any wired previous gen components was one of MS's brilliant initial ideas for the XB1 back when they wanted it to be always online and not allow used games. It just hasn't really come up until now. The PS4, however, accepts these devices without issue (though, wisely, they made it so they only work in game and can't be used to navigate the PS4 menu...thus not "threatening controller sales").

So, now there are a lot of people who have giant DLC libraries on Xbox who can't use their expensive electronic drums...and wish they had gone PS4 instead. All because MS won't write a freaking USB driver for a drum kit adapter. So dumb.

Yeah, stuff like that really makes you wonder about the legitimacy of competitive games if things in the environment aren't even reacting the same way. When you freaked out about the guy on the motorcycle, I was thinking "Settle down, Alan. He just fell over. I mean, I guess it was pretty sweet." haha.

And yeah, the sound thing I'm kind of baffled by because I'm not really sure where it's taking the input level from. We're using Steam chat and I have both my "microphone volume" and my "receive volume" maxed out in the Steam settings. If I turned my mic volume down there...you guys wouldn't be able to hear me as well (though, if I'm loud to you, obviously, I could just do that).

But if I turn down the microphone under my Windows settings...wouldn't that just do the exact same thing? You'd think both Shadowplay and Steam should be pulling the level from the same place...so, without an audio setting in Shadowplay, I can't think of how to change it without also screwing up Steam chat. Maybe that's why Youtubers use OBS and stuff like that, since it allows for more control.
