They put Rufus in cuz he's a bad ass mafucka...

And just cuz arcades are dead.. doesn't mean there isn't a market for fighting games anymore... look at SC IV... but then again.

Maybe they should put Star Wars characters in all upcoming fighting games to help sales :x lol.

It feels like I've stopped playing fighting games 'cause I'm just waiting for SFIV. :p

Although Wombat's impressions of MK Vs DC sound promising.

I'm not sure what fighting game to play tonight, but if worse comes to worst, I'll just dust off my PS2 imports. >_
Nice!

I've got a bid for 40 on a tekken stick. No way I'm still gonna have it when it ends tomorrow, but the thought of getting it for 60 shipped is real nice.
The Hori Tekken 5 stick?

I sold my Tekken 5 stick on CAG for $60 shipped earlier this year. I could've got more through ebay or something, but I just wanted some money to mod my Namco stick, and this covered that plus more.

I'm surprised someone didn't offer $6 for the Tekken stick and you had to go to ebay. I've made one big sale on CAG in the couple months and the rest has been crap offers and trades for games that I already have on my trade list.

I've made some good sales lately, but there are the dudes that offer like $4 shipped for a game.

Not even worth going to the PO for that.

STREET FIGHTER IV

Yeah. I'm already about bid, and don't think I'll bid again. I can make my own cheaper and I would have that sense of pride and shit.

Can't find a good site to buy parts though.

I can get you one for 60 with reasonable shipping (~10 dollars). Hori T5 stick is recommended by me, will serve you well especially since you said yourself you're new to the genre.

Then again, if you wanna make a custom then go for it. Check out www.lizardlick.com

I will certainly keep that in mind.

I've got a PS1 controller (analog though...) laying around the house, and I'm sure we have wood somewhere, so all I would need is the parts right?

Happ parts are solid, correct? I wanted sanwas but I didn't realize how high they were.

I wouldn't recc happ... their quality varies nowadays depending on which Chinese factory manufactures them.

iL would be a good choice which is pretty much the same, but of higher qual.

But really. The world of Happ vs Sanwa is VERY diff.

If you want something cheaper go with Seimitsu.

Damn is the T5 stick going for a bunch? I remember buying that entire T5 bundle super cheap.

I'd sell it if I knew I could finance a HRAP easily after :)

On a random note, Cedric in Battle Fantasia= Too beastly

omg... black cap + poster...

ultra combo on my fuckin paycheck... as if my $600 car insurance that hit me this month was bad already :twoguns:

I'll take an alternate stance and recommend happ to you!

I'm not the one to speak on quality since what little I've owned has worked, but what makes them different is the feel. Bat top sticks with more resistance in them (assuming you get a hard spring in a comp stick, or a P360) and clicky buttons. Plus they're american arcade standard so they do have a familiar feel to them.

Sanwas are more popular tho coz with arcades dying and more ppl playing at home with their home sticks, everyone is going the sanwa route.

but seriously I like them both!

If your looking forward to SSFII:HD Remix, you might want to check this out. 3 new vids, Fei Long vs. Sagat, Guile vs. Vega & Chun Li vs. Vega. Their all shaky cam, but awesome none the less.

I know because it's a downloadable title they had to meet size standards and make sacrifices somewhere, but the stages in Street Fighter HD Remix look like shit.

Also, I hope they've improved the sound since the Beta. The sound effects were muffled and weak.

Not tryin to be a hater, but I just want it to be great. Either way I'm going to get it, though.

the gameplay will hold up but everything else seems whatever... I actually don't like that they are using OCremix to do the soundtrack... would've preferred an in-house remix to be honest.

WORD, STHD = automatic.

DarthPuma, inPin converters are about 25ish shipped from laugh on SRK. Make sure you register there. That is by far the best place to get info on anything arcade stick related.

I have reviews up of various PS2 to PS3 converters on my site. If you wanna do some reading/research, check out the info here... http://sdtekken.com/tech-area/converters/

Clicking on a link will bring you to a description page... make sure you click on the REVIEW link on top of the description page for all the info (if there is a review available).

And... LOL at the cheapo Ryu headband... I have a handful of those from earlier this year...

Do you have a handful of non-cheapo ones? Or are they the same quality?

I think it'll be the same one they gave out at Comic-Con 2008. They're all cheapos (they passed em out for free, but they sold em for $5 too LOL)... no one bought it.

My MS point stash these day is basically reserved for this and Rock Band tracks!

Thanks to your review, laugh got bombarded with orders and now it's taking a long time to get mine. =)

haha, so I heard!

On the upside, I was in contact with Play-Asia and they're looking into carrying the product on their site... :fingers crossed:
I just want to say I suck ass at playing Soul Calibur IV, but I love that character creation mode.
i suck at SC4 too

but sometimes i'm not as bad as i think
but i really wanna break my plateau

I want to go play Street Fighter IV again. Also, I have to say that San Jose St. might have better looking girls than Berkeley. There's a little more variety.
I'm decent at SCIV, but I need to break old habits, like trying to GI throws. . .
you can JI throws.
but that's cool
as long as you don't try to break throws with K.

That is indeed awesome ReRo! You should send it to the capcom blog, they love posting that kind of stuff:
Ok so I'll say it like I do every week...
