The thing that makes the PSP version better than either of the PS2 versions is full control of the party in battle, as you have to make do with the AI controlling party members in FES or the original and they're spotty at best from what I've read about them. They got the battle system right in Persona 4 and P3P brings that game up to the standard.

Damn next week is gonna be an awesome week, getting Skullgirls and P3:FES for sure. Also that Disgaea and FFXIII-2 DLC (Though i wonder which ones it is)
Is the PSP version of Persona 3 worth the extra $10? I think I'd rather play it on my Vita.
Yes if you have to choose only one, get the PSP version.

Personally I have both P3:FES (PS2 disc) and P3P (download on vita).

As mentioned, the PSP version has a lot of extra content as well as control of party members in battle. Although not controlling them in FES was really just part of the challenge. Playing P3:FES on Hard on my very first playthough was probably one of the most challenging gaming experiences I've had.
But as others have said, wait for something you want. I want Shank 2 and I'm finally going to actually pay for the thing, but I'm going to wait until near the end of the month.
Just played Shank 2 for the first time last night. That is an extremely well-polished, solid game. Controls are tight, art direction is cool, music fits - overall just a really good game. Not amazing, but very solid and I had fun. (Never played the first one).

The first was the same. Very solid title. Especially for free with plus membership. I was going to buy the game as soon as it went on sale anyway.

Here are the best-selling games from March 2012:
It’s pretty clear that March was a banner month for PlayStation Network. As you may already know, Journey was recently proclaimed PSN’s fastest-selling game. iOS. Hmmm... Thanks for the tip.

Since you like this on iOS, I think you might enjoy Gravity Guy and Rat On A Scooter. If you don't, already, have them.

The Drop for this week:
PlayStation Network

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City – Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City delivers two games based on the world of Liberty City. Both games — The Lost & Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony — offer expansive, story-based experiences inside this wild and dangerous city. The package does not require a copy of the original Grand Theft Auto IV to play.

The Lost and The Damned — Johnny is a veteran member of The Lost, a notorious biker gang. Johnny has been creating business opportunities for The Lost in Liberty City, but his first loyalty must be to the patch he wears on his back and to Billy Grey, the club’s President. However, when Billy returns from rehab hell-bent on bloodshed and debauchery, Johnny finds himself in the middle of a vicious turf war with rival gangs for control of a city torn apart by violence and corruption. Can the brotherhood survive?

The Ballad of Gay Tony – Grand Theft Auto IV’s second downloadable episode injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka “Gay Tony”), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.

Skullgirls – Set in the Canopy Kingdom, Skullgirls tells the tale of eight female warriors as they fight to reclaim a wish-granting artifact known as the “Skull Heart” from the monstrous Skullgirl. As legend has it, every seven years this enigmatic Skull Heart grants a wish to a young woman… but this power can come at a terrible price. If her heart is impure, her wish will be twisted and she herself will be transformed into a Skullgirl.

Developed by newcomer Reverge Labs, Skullgirls is a fast-paced 2D fighting game. Starring a cast of feisty female warriors, Skullgirls is a multi-layered fighter featuring all-new game systems for veteran fighting game fans while also making the intimidating genre enjoyable and accessible to the casual gamer.

Sour Patch Kids: World Gone Sour – In Sour Patch Kids: World Gone Sour, gamers will take on the miniature role of a lost Sour Patch Kid, guiding the hero through the sticky floors of a movie theater, across the counter of a concession stand, and other unique and oversized environments.
Joining forces with fellow lost Sour Patch Kids, players will use a combination of jumps, twists and puzzle-solving to negotiate and overcome larger than life obstacles. Along the way, they will battle unusual candy enemies, escape from deranged humans, and face-off against bizarre creatures including one very angry wad of sticky chewing gum.

The Pinball Arcade (PSVita / PS3 Cross Purchase) – From the makers of Pinball Hall of Fame comes the ultimate pinball machine collection — step into The Pinball Arcade and you’ll have access to many of the all-time greatest tables from Williams, Bally, Stern Pinball, and Gottlieb! Players build their pinball collection by purchasing and downloading the tables they want to play, each powered by a realistic pinball simulation that re-creates pinball gameplay with accuracy and authenticity. Leave your quarters at home and just enjoy playing your favorite pinball machine for the zillionth time or discovering an acclaimed pinball classic for the first time.

Vita Games

Sniper Elite v2

PlayStation 2 Classics

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES — Lead a group of high school students with a dangerous extracurricular activity: exploring the mysterious tower Tartarus and fighting the sinister Shadows during the Dark Hour, a frozen span of time imperceptible to all but a select few. However, the end of their quest is no longer the end of the story–witness for the first time the aftermath of the final battle and the students’ struggle to find meaning in their new lives.

A spin-off of the RPG Persona, Fes (or “Festival of Persona 3″) consists of Persona 3′s content along with 30 hours of additional gameplay. The new gameplay comes primarily in the form of the “Gojitsudan,” a story sequence that comes after the original’s ending, with new cinematic sequences in addition to the added gameplay. While the main storyline is the same, it’s been tuned up with new events. Gameplay has been updated as well, with a new “hard” setting (the original had just easy and normal), 23 new Personas, a weapon synthesis system and a system for changing your characters’ clothes.

All over Pinball Arcade, Montezuma, and Persona 3 FES.

So is Pinball going to be 10? And will P3FES get $10 also?
Wow nice free title. What's the reason? Lack of software?
It's a freemium title, so there are certain parts of the game that they charge for:

http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/PS+Vita/Treasures+of+Montezuma+Blitz/news.asp?c=36618

What elements will you charge for via IAP?

SPL: There are three elements.

Lives - the number of tries player has for continuous play. We limit the number of attempts a player can have in a row without pausing for balance purposes. They refill gradually over time, but players can refill them instantly for a small price (cost 99c).

Scratchcard - an additional try at the daily bonus mini game. Players are given one for free on a daily basis, but further attempts cost some money (99c).

Crystals - the game's virtual currency, which is used to rent various bonuses and buy upgrades. These come in various packs from 3,000 Crystals for $2.99 to 100,000 Crystals for $19.99.
All over Pinball Arcade, Montezuma, and Persona 3 FES.

So is Pinball going to be 10? And will P3FES get $10 also?
Yes and yes.

Not a bad price on Persona 3: FES. The game costs about $30 at Gamestop. Hope Persona 4 is added there too!

I'd pick up P3FES if I didn't get it from Sears for about the same $10 price.
Journey soundtrack coming out on April 10th? Hmm, ok now I'm hoping for a bundle!
I doubt it is bundled when it releases, probably down the road though. For what it's worth, I think the composer said it would be on iTunes this week too.

since my slim ps3 wont play ps2 games like my old phat did, i'll probably pick up P3 FES. 10$ is a steal for either this or the fourth if it gets released at the same price.
Just played Shank 2 for the first time last night. That is an extremely well-polished, solid game. Controls are tight, art direction is cool, music fits - overall just a really good game. Not amazing, but very solid and I had fun. (Never played the first one).
THIS. I had never even considered playing Shank 2 until it went up for free. I tossed it in the other night just to see what it was like and I LOVED it. Beat it already on normal and I'm planning to play it again on hard...and I rarely play through a game more than once because of my insane backlog. I nearly downloaded the first game as soon as I finished the second one.

I'll still get the Montezuma game. Free is free. P3 for $10 is tempting, but I already got a 50+ hour game on my hand in the form of DW Gundam 3.

I like both Shanks equally. I feel like this is the tyope of $10 game more companies should produce. High quality action gameplay. What a fun game that you can play for 15 minute chunks since each level is short, but about the right size for my tastes. Even better that we get it for free with plus sub.

Gonna be a pretty awesome update tomorrow. New FF13-2 and Disgaea 4 stuff, Skullgirls, and Persona 3 FES to top it all off. Time for some mass PS3 data deletion
Think its worth it to get again? Im only about 5 hours in
Persona 3 Portable has everything FES has and more (except a few anime cutscenes). If you have P3P, you have the best edition of Persona 3 available currently. Especially because it's the only version that lets you control the other party members :whistle2:#

Thank you very much. saves me $10

That's the expansion to Persona 3. (In Japan, it was sold separately but was included in the American version of FES.) It's not in P3P but you're not missing much.

This Silent Hill looks creepy as hell, the controls seem a tad bit wonky, and I'm just wondering through the snow...WTF?!! LMFAO!

I believe Skullgirls comes out tomorrow, well today. Debating on that or Persona 3 FES. If Skullgirls had a PS+ discount I could probably grab both but I only have like $23.50 left on my account.

Decisions :whistle2:k
You'd basically be paying $10 to play "The Answer"...
I didn't know Persona 3 Portable didn't have that. P3P is still the better option though. The Answer really wasn't all that fun or interesting, was just made to explain what exactly happened during the ending of the main game.

The Answer is a 20 hour dungeon grind, I can only recommend it if you really really like the combat over the social link stuff (which is completely absent).

I've decided that I'm going to pony up for Skullgirls on both platforms just to support the creators - I'm sure I won't have time to actually play it for months. Putting together an indie fighting game that isn't just some silly punch and kick mashfest is pretty gutsy. The awesome art style doesn't hurt either.

Plus (I think) they plan on releasing some useful dlc for free if it sells well enough. Good on them.
