The Wii VC version will remain the better digital version of the game (unless you really love animated cutscenes) but I did eventually get used to the CT load times years ago when it first hit the PS1.

I have the PS1 and DS version already and the cutscenes are just extra fluff to me.

It's too bad that the PS1 game has loading time because I'd much rather buy it on PSN than VC.

Ooh, I would get Chrono Trigger (if it was coming out), but I think maybe I'll try to play it on the SNES emulator on my Touchpad
Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI won't be released this week, blog post was updated. They managed to make 4 errors in the post.. lol.
Hmm, wonder when they will be coming out then. I saw that Chrono Trigger was coming to cell phones soon (at least in Japan), I think I might hold out for a potential US release on that.

Is that counting the absence of F1 2011 too? If not make that 5.

As far as the retail thing goes, any regular joe can go to a mediocre gaming site or even Amazon and see what is out this week. As to the PSN stuff, I guess he doesn't get many memos from Sony until he screws up.

I love CT so much, fav rpg of all time (FFVI/FFVII are close seconds) but I already have it on snes, ds, touchpad... i havent even played the ps1 version i have (chronicles was it? i got anthology and chronicles, my backlog is so huge i havnt even done those versions yet.) so im gonna skip on the ps1 version ;) great game tho!

MAGUS > SEPHIROTH

As a PSA, today is the last day to get the PSN Play games for $3 off as a PS+ member and with bonus DLC for everybody that buys it before the update later today.
ugh, RE4 only half off for Plus users....smh. Not paying $50 a year for maybe one or two decent deals.
Then don't. My Plus subscription has more than paid for itself. It also looks like the seasonal sales that PSN does is only 30% off to regular members while Plus members get the 50%. Holla.
They're the original ISOs ripped from the disc, so any issues with the original releases are likely to still be around. The only things they fix are issues a game may have with the PS1 emulator itself.
Although some games have slightly faster loading. It's been noted before that games that relied heavily on the PS1's processor for this and that work way better on the PS3, simply due to the presence of three superior processors.
DCUO is roughly 16GB to download according to an MTV article from last year.
That was last year. They've since released several updates/patches which should make it larger now. I remember the beta taking forever to download and later install. Its most likely gonna be alot worse now

Yes, but now you're back to pure digital access vs disc speeds. I thought the battle load times were a result of disc read, no? If I had to guess, I'd say they were back to normal or improved by the new timings.

^Hopefully not right away. I have to get a PS+ card to get the free Plants Vs. Zombies, unless the freebies for PS+ members sticks around for the rest of the week.

Technically discs are also pure digital access, just a different medium.
But I agree that the load times were most likely disc access delays. They should be reduced considerably now, if not completely.

I guess instead of pure I should have said direct, so same difference.

It's available for a full month, so you should have another two weeks to get it.
FFVI and Chrono Trigger are missing
They were a mistake and never supposed to have been listed. Just emulate them on your PC ;)

No big deal. I got Chrono Trigger on my DS. Just another way for me to play the game in :D

Now to find my Game Boy Advance so I can play FFVI Advance.

how is plants vs zombies free if you are going to have to buy a ps + card?

RE 4 at 10 bucks is pretty much impossible to pass up for me, since I haven't played it since it first came out on Gamecube (my Gamecube died shortly after beating it).

In for my weekly request to add the free PS+ games. Why not add them and just include a "free while a PS+ subscriber".

PS1 games/minis are permanently free once loaded onto a PSP/Vita.

No, they're not. I have a few on my PSP and they still have expiration dates.

What? PS1 games are free once loaded on PSP and PS Plus expires?

FREAK a lot of good sales on PS1 and Mini games!

My PS3 broke down last week.

Anyone know if I can purchase PSN Store content online aside from my PS3 dashboard?
