I'm glad you have been getting games during this sale (I also purchased Valiant Hearts and Child of Light as part of it and am considering Peggle 2), though, just so you know, the Transistor sale price of $7.99 I assume you're referring to was a Thanksgiving/Black Friday flash sale and was not part of this current Holiday Sale.

The January free PS+ PS4 games were announced in early November, but we don't know what'll be free for PS3 and Vita yet.

Looks like there will be a Curve (Mousecraft, Proteus, Stealth Inc, Swapper, Thomas Was Alone, Titan Attacks) and Rock Band sale (RB Blitz and a few song packs), plus a bundle of both Trines for PS4 for $21 for PS+.

The first game came out here in Feb and didn't get a sale until September and was $20 and I think that's the only sale it's had on PSN. Second game came out in early September and it's having a sale for $4 more which is entirely reasonable. Neither physical version has had any better retail sales.

Do I need to play the first one before the sequel? Not sure if they're entirely different stories or if both games are like different chapters of the same book.

No. I don't believe so since there are 2 separate prices for both listed on the Blog. Otherwise, there would have been only 1 sale price listed for both the PS3 and PS4 versions if they were cross-buy.

yeah that's what I thought sucks. I would of much rather for Battlefield 4 Premium season pass to also have been on sale to be able to get it for both ps3 and ps4 because I already own them on disc

You should play them in order. For the most part they're individual stories, but the second game eventually references (read: spoils) certain important events in the first one.

Absolutely 100% yes.

There are a lot of references to the first game and the ending especially won't mean as much if you haven't played the first one.

 
Shake Spears looks to be a freemium game with tons of IAP.  Is it really a game playable without the IAP?  This is what I hate about iOS gaming even though I love iOS gaming ... I just hate all the freemium garbage.

Nothing like more avatars to clog up our awful download lists! Having let my PS+ lapse my list is even more screwed up since it automatically moved the PS+ games to the top of my list in no particular order when I resubbed.

Downloaded Resogun for Vita, since I got the PS4 version free with PS+, and the game won't launch. "Error: Unable to validate full game". Guess they're having problems with the licensing right now, oh well.
 
Seeing the Rock Band sale makes me miss the good old days when I think I dropped nearly $1000 into that game from instruments and owning nearly 80% of DLC. The only reason I bought a PSP was for Unplugged and Chains of Olympus.

I want a new Rock Band game (or at least the ability to have a port of Unplugged to the Vita). Oh well... One can dream
 
Is bf4 premium worth it or should I just get the vanilla bf4? I'm afraid the premium maps won't be very active. Any input would be appreciated.

Just the vanilla if I were you. $18 bucks of DLC does not eclipse the $12 base game which has perfectly fine and enjoyable maps (not to mention more active maps).

The BF4 premium is the only thing I purchased during the past 4 weeks of PSN sales. I was pondering the same thing. I loved BF3, and played that game for over 2 years, and still on it from time to time. I purchased the Premium for it, but hardly used it because, to my surprise, all the premium servers were dead or emptied soon after the last DLC came out.

BF4 premium maps will probably be dead or emptied soon with the last DLC just came out. But I did go ahead and purchase the BF4 premium since The Second Assault DLC came with my 4 favorite BF3 maps (Metro, Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman and FireStorm). Besides, $30 isn't that much more. Good hunting!

I'm kind of in the same boat. It's over my $20 digital cap, but with how little went on sale after I wouldn't have minded splurging a little more for it. I[SIZE=14.2857141494751px]n total I've picked up 7 games after being on the fence on probably 3-6 more including Peggle 2 this week (do I really need yet another copy of Peggle? Yes, yes I probably do...). I guess that's actually not a bad haul considering I'm 0/0 on XBLA and Steam so far. Hell I even bought the Mega Man games that were on sale on Wii U and 3DS and I NEVER buy anything in those markets.[/SIZE]

It'll probably go on sale again sometime next year, but who knows when..
