CAGiversary!
Gobots are where it's at people.
It would be a wrong assumption to say that I want a lesson in movies. Oh how I hated that in TV sitcoms. ASS-U-ME.Any time someone starts talking about how the transformers movies are dumb, that they objectify women, that they're racist, etc., it's pretty clear that person is aing retard and doesn't understand that transformers movies are made primarily for an audience of teenage boys. Not every movie has to be some Oscar winner that's trying to send a
ing message. Sometimes I just want to see robots smashing each other and hot chicks running around a war zone with hardly any clothing on.
That was back when toys didn't have 8 billion twist ties in every box.true christmas story: as a kid my parents had gotten me the transformers set that had bright green construction vehicles that assembled in to a big robot of some sort. at some point I figured out where they were hiding presents, so I would sneak in there in the morning or late at night, carefully take all of them out, play with them (complete with making sweet sound effects) and then carefully put them back in the box.
my mom eventually figured it out and I think she had every intention of punishing me, but I don't think she went through with it. at least not completely. so I did not learn any lessons at all! a merry christmas was had by all!
She probably pushed the cart out to load up the stuff into an Escalade on 30s.I picked up my Kmart order. Lord of Shadows looks cool in the box. I felt bad that it appeared I was the only one that could afford deodorant and shampoo. Then I saw a woman with a brand new Iphone 6 pay for her stuff with an EBT (food stamps) card. Obama phone? I didnt feel bad anymore.

Just as with visuals and hearing having objective standards, consistent characterization and plot does as well. Deciding whether something is good or bad is subjective, yes, but you can absolutely point out, objectively, inconsistencies with the way characters are presented or problems with a story's plot. It can absolutely be objective to say "This event does not lead logically into this event," or "This event conflicts with an earlier event in the show."If you can't tell the difference between HD and SD, then that's probably something with your vision. Lossy and lossless is probably something with your hearing. What would you say is going on with a person if they can't tell the difference between something being "good" or "bad" (in your opinion)? Dumb may be an oversimplification of your context, but you're still positioning yourself as being better than others and coming off like a douche as far as I can tell.
liked for 80s-esque stereotypical insensitivity. it was the one thing missing from the thread this morning.Hory sheeeeeet
I can't tell if this post is more depressing, or Therms dissertation. My parents kept all the Xmas toys in a locked room in the basement. One year we, all of us, took the hinges off the door and checked out all the gifts ahead of time. I think we all concluded afterward that this was a bad idea even though it was exciting at the time. We only told our Mom about it a few years back. I think we are all kind of ashamed about it. Also it made Christmas anti-climactic.
It's amazing how many people legitimately believe the free phone is an Obama thing. There's even www.obamaphone.com now. It's not official, but has a lot of information and links about how to get one through the Lifeline Assistance Program.I picked up my Kmart order. Lord of Shadows looks cool in the box. I felt bad that it appeared I was the only person in the store that could afford deodorant and shampoo. Then I saw a woman with a brand new Iphone 6 pay for her stuff with an EBT (food stamps) card. I thought they rushed that stuff too much, especially the relationship between the male and female lead. They didn't really go much into the sync or the technology of how the robots worked or any of that stuff. They brought it up and tried to address it, but did so so briefly that it just made it stand out as not being handled well. It would have been better to not focus on that aspect of the movie at all IMO.Pacific Rim was a fun movie. I even liked the non-fighting parts unlike most it seems.
I've never cared about the surprise element of finding out what presents I got. I always wanted to know as soon as possible, and knowing never ruined my enjoyment of getting the gifts. Well...turns out my wife is the same way. We've been buying presents for everybody and each other for the past 2-3 weeks, but didn't really care enough to hide or have our presents from the other person hidden. A few days ago we just saidMy parents kept all the Xmas toys in a locked room in the basement. One year we, all of us, took the hinges off the door and checked out all the gifts ahead of time. Naa. It was all "I'm right and you're wrong!" and "Objectivity is real, bitches!" and "STFU!" and getting in the last word.I kind of enjoyed all of this talk between objectivity and subjectivity, but should I really bother to read that extremely long post by Therm?
The lead actor was pretty forgettable, but I liked the other characters.I thought they rushed that stuff too much, especially the relationship between the male and female lead. I think we can all agree the first trilogy was objectively fantastic and the second was objectively terrible.is star wars objectively or subjectively terrible? started my thesis this morning, could use a little help.
Cool, thanks for the gist of it.Naa. It was all "I'm right and you're wrong!" and "Objectivity is real, bitches!" and "STFU!" and getting in the last word.
I love giving people presents and seeing their face when they open it. It's part of the fun :0I've never cared about the surprise element of finding out what presents I got. A few days ago we just saidit and gave each other all our gifts early, no wrapping required. We'll still get stuff from parents and siblings and the like on Christmas day...but why wait on our gifts to each other?
So yeah, I've already got my Golds and a ton of games for anniversary/bday/xmas to enjoy.![]()
You make them fake liking the gifts? That's cruel.I love giving people presents and seeing their face when they open it. It's part of the fun :0
Have you seen this?A co-worker just said "Sooooome" while trying to decide how to phrase a bug report. Almost instantly I started singing "...once told me the the world is kinda (foamy? stoney? Roney?). I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed." And now that (objectively) shitty all-star song is stuck in my head for like the 5th time in the last couple weeks. I hate when (subjectively) shit songs haunt you for weeks on end.
Also you're welcome for sticking it in your head.
HeyYou make them fake liking the gifts? That's cruel.
What the huh?Have you seen this?

Is the game not much fun? I actually considered buying it when it came out but didn't.The best thing about Titan Attacks is the trophy card.
It's fancy looking and sounding Space Invaders. With boss fights every 20 levels. And humanitarian efforts. Is the game not much fun? I actually considered buying it when it came out but didn't.
*sob* It's not the same...For you guys that can't get a Gamecube controller adapter, this should be a decent option right?:

I'm afraid to call anything terrible now, but, well maybe it's not terrible, but it's kind of boring. And I like classic arcade games and updatings of them. This one I think is off the mark.Is the game not much fun? I actually considered buying it when it came out but didn't.
I've seen plenty of big dumb action movies that also manage to have characters that aren't terribly annoying. I don't think people who dislike the Transformer movies are disappointed in the robots fighting. It's everything that happens in between that is terrible and makes me want to kick a puppy.Any time someone starts talking about how the transformers movies are dumb, that they objectify women, that they're racist, etc., it's pretty clear that person is aing retard and doesn't understand that transformers movies are made primarily for an audience of teenage boys. Yes I did asshole. Then I played the song for the co-worker that got all-star suck in my head. And then that baby monkey shit got stuck in my head. Asshole.Did you give it a listen? It's pretty catchy.![]()
The action segments in those tend to be bad, too, though. Just as with Man of Steel and the like where it's just big explosions and overly-long fight scenes.I've seen plenty of big dumb action movies that also manage to have characters that aren't terribly annoying. I don't think people who dislike the Transformer movies are disappointed in the robots fighting. It's everything that happens in between that is terrible and makes me want to kick a puppy.
