Def Jam Icon
Rainbow Six Vegas
Splinter Cell Double Agent
I have verified these three at my local store. Had .1 stickers on them and all (suprising since they've been pulling penny guides lately).
Didn't check on Crackdown, Sonic, or the Pokedex.
Thanks!
LOL dammit, read this too fast and took off...should've checked the three you mentioned not checking....
Oh,

Darnit, I'm waiting to unearth my FFIII and AC: WW guides that I've squirreled away for two months now in the appliances area. They were still there as of last Friday.
Nothing of interest to me but these could be good to trade if I can get them. I'll pick this and the ad for Avatar tonight.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but Rogue Galaxy is now 9.99 on the website, so hopefully there is a penny drop imminent (within the next couple months)

Thanks a ton, I think for $9.99 I will go ahead and just buy the guide now since I've been itching to play through the game (and the guide will help), and skip the hassle of scoring it as a penny guide.
It's made by DoubleJump, so it's worth it.
Hell, one of my local stores is even sold out of it, and I'm only paying a few bucks more what it would cost someone to ship it to me anyways (since most charge $5 or $6).

Yay. I'll head over sometime to try and score some stuff. I know they had Splinter Cell there last time I went, can't recall if they had any R6 or Def Jam but I'm sure they did.
so is Animal Crossing WW pennied now?
Only 3 have been mentioned as pennied today (I guess verified as soon as another CAG posts finding them at a penny,) those are:
There may have been more. An employee pulled them all and had them on a cart. I didn't want to stare too much and draw his attention. As soon as he was off with a custmer I grabbed some off the cart and headed to the register. Also got Rogue Galaxy Guide for $4.99 after GP coupon and Harvest Moon DS for $4.99 after coupon. Also found a Lego SW II and Kameo guide that just showed up at other BB stores.
The BBs around me are now consistently pulling the guides.
Damn I kind of want to spent the $5 and make sure I get a Rogue Galaxy guide as well....if they have all the new penny guides cleaned out today I just might.
edit: gah!!! went to 2 best buys and only got one penny guide, worst of all I got rejected on getting Gunpey for $4.99 after coupon because "frontline" games are considered a coupon or offer

I know I'll have to wait out a RG guide, though most of the BB's out here seem to have enough of them that waiting to save $5 won't be a problem.
My BB had a nice stash of Crackdown and Sonic when I was there a while ago, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem if I can get there in a few days... I hope...
Is there more than 1 version of Crackdown or Sonic?
Nope. Nintendo games are the only one who seems to have more than one copy of (non-LE) guides, as they do their own for their own games and then either Brady or Prima does their own.
2 Crackdown guides
2 Sonic and the Secret Rings guides
2 SC: Double Agent guides
1 Rogue Galaxy guide for $5 with that GP coupon
I left one crackdown guide and there were several more copies of sonic there. I also saw atleast 10 Double Agent guides. I would have liked to waited on Rogue Galaxy, but I didn't feel like risking it since BB is my only reliable source for penny guides.
Ugh, I just hope Best Buy decides to unload the Final Fantasy III and XII guides before I have to move, I really don't want to drive these 50 or so extra guides the 1,200 miles with me to New York
Snagged xtras of Crackdown, Icon, and Splinter Cell (damn, my BB had like 20 SC guides on the shelf, it was insane). No Sonic or R6:V, but they did have a handful of RG, which I picked up one of with the 5.00 coupon.
Checked Gears, still 20.00 as expected. Also, all the FFIII guides seem to have dissappeared from my shelves, so when they drop, if someone could keep me in mind, I'd be grateful!
Struck out at the first two BB's I went to, they had already pulled them. The 3rd BB I hit had just a few, was able to score the only copies of Splinter Cell and Crackdown they had. I was able to snag 2x Sonic guides, so if anyone needs one of those I would trade it for a R6: Vegas guide as there were none. The BB's nearest me are really getting way too efficient at pulling the guides.
got Rogue Galaxy for the $5. however, the coupon didnt work for me. It registered and said $5 off strategy guides, but they had to manually adjust it.
I had split my penny guides into another order b/c i didn't want the coupon taking a penny off instead of $5 and the cashier brought over the manager again who said to sell them to me.
Got one each of R6:Vegas, SC: DA & DJ:Icon. Got 2 Crackdowns (1 for a friend). I don't get extras anymore (except for RPG guides), unless I'm picking them up for someone - these guides almost never trade, and I just end up stuck with stacks of books.
Does anybody pick these up for other CAGs still for cost of shipping + some? My Best Buys always pull the guides and the ones I have are "common" so it does not really help out too much. Please pm me if you are willing to help or just let me know.
they put all the def jam icon guides into the locked window with the 360 games. So they'll bring the one cent book to the register? I want to grab an extra for a friend, but I don't want any attention. sigh.
for stores like EBgames do you just walk in there and ask them if they have any penny guides lol I know theres a list of whats discounted but my store has never had a ton on the floor I usually just ask for a guide if I want one and they usually pull them from the back ...
the only guide i have really wanted out of the past 3 or 4 drops is Crackdown and all 3 bestbuys pulled all copies to the back for field destroy....no amount of convincing could get them to sell me one....
if anyone would be willing to send me an extra copy of Crackdown guide for shipping + I would really appreciate it...i can paypal the money immediately...
$uck.. i should checkout the thread today b4 i went to BB today. Yeap, they still have all the guides on the list. I'll be back tomorrow & pickup all the penny guides plus Rogue Galaxy for $5 after coupon (Double Jump guide is expensive on my list)
Nothing I really WANT perse from this drop(which btw, wtf, a mid month drop), but I need to replenish my mediocre guide list that no one EVER looks at anymore(since all my RPG guides that I had went out in like 4 sales and left me with the dreck).

I used the guide while playing - it is very nice. But beware that it has ERRORS in the weapon combination charts, particularly at the end (ie, creation of the most powerful weapons) . For a while they made available online a fixed version of the weapon list, but I haven't been able to find it recently.
Oh, and it looks like I'll miss out yet again on BB penny guides. I won't be able to get in to a store until the end of the week . Anyone with extras please CML to see if there's anything of interest there.
Ya know, I need to start checking this thread a little more frequently, as I bet both my local BB stores had a chance to clear those out yesterday already, not that I would be grabbing any for myself.

This one shouldn't be to hard to find guides I'm guessing if you got the chance to go out yesterday, or can even go out today maybe. Because like I said, I checked in the mid-afternoon yesterday and there was no notice at all. I asked my friend in the media department who always pulls the guides right away just so I can get a crack at them, and he said he saw nothing, but of course people are reporting a drop. So I'll look into it today again and let everybody know if i see anything.
