The Reduced Price Guide FAQ/OP has been moved to the SECOND post.

Oh well. Maybe I'll bite on a single Dead Rising 2 CE, since that's the only one I really want from this drop.

Yeah but last time this happened the thread got a lot more traffic, the only traffic the thread seems to be getting is CAG's to vote it down and the OP who keeps bumping it up with his multiple accounts.
 
Why do I feel like I'm in a gang now and it's SD vs CAG and we must choose our side now and start the turf war. I mean I agree that this is BS and it's hard to prevent things like this because it's the internet but it is pretty sad.

I gave up on that whole mentality a while ago and I've actually been cross posting for a while now. Albeit CAG typically gets any of the halfway decent gaming deals before SD/FW, but sometimes those guys get such an insane deal that you can't help but wanna share it elsewhere(and sometimes vice versa).:D

Sorry to ask this, but this thread has exploded and I tried reading back a few pages. IATCG posted about shipping being expensive and now you post this. Was this in regards to ordering it online and getting it in the store or am I missing something?

I am ok with deal sharing, but when this person makes posts stating he's "stealing" posts and deals from CAG, plus he doesn't even copy the info he just says "hey go here and use the work someone else did because I'm too lazy to copy/paste it but still want to be awesome in the eyes of internets peoples"
 
Well, this ought to be interesting. I ordered 30 of last summer's cheat guide for the hell of it and to see if they actually ship it to the store. I'm gonna love seeing the look on the CS people's face when I got to pick it up if it actually ships.

(I figured nobody would really care about last summer's cheat guide)
 
I place some orders for instore pick up (not instore shipping) and got cancel email. Strange it seems to be only about half of my orders
 
Ok. Could it be that the credit card company denied some of the charges if they were for the same amount?

I used paypal, so even though two of my orders were the same amount i didn't have to worry about that.
 
I used a giftcard and so far I haven't gotten any cancel email. I got an email that the store I ordered for is closed right now but that's it besides the confirmation email.
 
It might be YMMV if you get someone at the pickup counter that is strict, a couple of years ago I ordered some penny items online and was able to pick them up without any problem.

I hope everyone who orders them for pickup gets them, if the store didn't pull the guides from the sales floor to be sent back and the employees in charge of in store pick up don't go to pull the guides the online orders and hold them before or right at opening, I am guessing that people waiting at the entrance at opening are going to get them before the employees can grab them.

Well just ordered 1 of Dead Rising 2 LE, Super Mario 2 LE, Spiderman and Castlevania for in store pickup at BestBuy.com for a grand total of 0.04 after tax. :D
 
hey iatcg i know the pain were at 1-2 inches in ny atm. if it stops by early morning ill going out but not going to kill myself over penny guides. ive got a TON of old drops and like 1 or 2 from the recent gamestop. i know the guides ill be looking for as i want them for collection are....

I'm leery of the in-store pickup. If your store is at all inclined to pull their guides, seems that in-store pickup orders would just be an additional prompt for them to do so.

This doesn't bode well, the only guide that shows up as in store around here is Super Scribblenauts. It will be interesting and prolly disappointing to see how accurate that is.
 
Does anyone know if the 1 cent prices go into effect upon store opening this morning? Or does the actual time of the drop vary by store? It would be a shame to get there when they open and find out the guides haven't dropped yet.

I've had instore pickup work perfectly several times for guides.

They did last time they left them on the website...I got two boxes full shipped to me with free silver shipping.

Most of the time the prices are in effect when they open, but once I remember half the list dropped at opening while the other half dropped around lunch time.

I saw dead rising 2 ce is still on the BB website and I ordered w free shipping thanks to silver membership. Anyone see any other guides still online?
 
well this sucks still snowing bad as of 8am in ny i work at 1pm. looks like ill be doing the finger hoping for tomorrow.

I have silver as well, but couldn't get free shipping to work. Any tricks necessary?
 
Well, I just go two "order is ready for pickup" emails. Sadly it was only for MoH LE. Those were the only two parts of orders that went through successfully as in store pickup.
 
The only guides I wanted and still managed to order from the website was Dead Rising 2 LE and Sly collection. Mario Galaxy and MoH were no longer available. Got it shipped for free with rewardz silver membership.

I was just in a store yesterday and made a mental inventory of what was there. When I came home I checked the online inventory and half of the stuff that was in the store did not show up as available. I think it probably has to do with what Frosty or lox (or someone else) said about there having to be three copies of something in the store for it to appear in the inventory checker.
 
Just got instore pickup ready for 2 Dead Rising 2 LE guides, Front Mission Guide, and Sly guide. Can go during my lunch break and have friend checking 2 stores by him so all in all should be able to hit 5 stores so feeling good.

Either I get the instore pickup guides or they give me a giftcard for my troubles :)

I've mentioned it previously that an item will show up as available for in-store pickup if there's 3 or more of them in-store and not available if 0-2. Frosty and lox have both mentioned that as well.

A store can also mark an item as NO PICK, which means they could have thousands of them and it'll show up as not available for in-store pickup. NO PICK is normally what happens when they can't find something for an in-store pickup order and they mark it as such to prevent the issue from happening again.
 
Heh, darn, just got a call from one Best Buy. Even through I got the Items Ready For Pick Up email they won't be able to fulfill the order because the guides are "junked out and never should have been on the website to begin with." Looks like someone is on the ball today lol. Forgot to ask which store he was calling from through (made an order at two local stores which had different Available Now guides).
