You can still pre-order or buy that Qore episode. The current limited R2 beta is a very limited beta, not the full one that pre-orders and Qore subscribers are slated for.

Edward James Olmos is narrating this time, makes me think the media company handling the filming and VO work for the ad campaign does a lot of stuff for Battlestar Galactica too. That and I suspect the BSG actors are already looking for new jobs since BSG is effectively over.
 
I'm actually pretty excited for R2. I think i'm gonna subscribe to Qore just to get into the early beta. It'll also be a lot of fun to play the game through with some CAGs.
 
I've done 6 levels of Resistance, trying to see if I should get Resistance 2 or not. And man, it's really slow so far. It's like..a PS2 game upscaled and made a bit smoother and cleaner. Please tell me at what level it starts to get good.

  • An exclusive Chimeran Hybrid action figure with Bullseye, created by DC Unlimited
  • A double-sided hard-cover Resistance 2 art book covering war-torn America from two unique perspectives

The collector’s edition also contains a bonus DVD that includes:

  • Exclusive behind the scenes video, “America Forever Lost”, chronicling the making of Resistance 2
  • Digital copy of Issue #0 of the Resistance comic book series published by Wildstorm.
  • A preview into the upcoming Resistance novel, “Resistance: The Gathering Storm” by science fiction author William Dietz.

We are excited to announce the Public Beta will begin in early October, and premier access to the beta can be obtained in North America by pre-ordering the game from a GameStop retail store or online at www.gamestop.com. In addition, Qore annual subscribers will receive premier access to the beta.

Now if you’d like to apply for the open access period of the public beta, you can visit http://beta.myresistance.net/apply. Folks that have purchased Qore Episode 3 will be given the beta during the open access period as well.

I know many of our friends outside of North America read this blog. Don’t worry! The plans for the Public Beta will be communicated on a more local level, but will generally involve pre-order and/or application programs.

I hate game company's who put out these LE bundles... They are too cool for me not to buy and I am laying down alot of cash on em. I could buy 3 GH PS3 games that I haven't played before instead of this but it's too cool. Curse me.

It starts out crap, yeah, halfway mark is the turning point maybe? I forgot but there was some point where it definitely turned. The stuff in london is all great.
 
Well, that figure explains why the usually responsive JStevenson ignored my requests for permission to sculpt a Chimera Hybrid model.
 
This one of the cooler looking CE's I've ever seen, hopefully the price isn't too jacked up so I could justify the purchase ;O
 
I'm posting in this thread because there will be most definitely be a CAG night and CAG Clan for Resistance 2. I would definitely like to see it as a CAG night, so I was just curious as to who would have interests administering CAG Resistance 2 night (it has to be someone who can update the thread constantly, help out new people who want to get into it, possibly manage the clan too, and probably do most of the hosting (or find someone to regularly host)). I remember Shini did it before, but I wasn't sure whether he'd be interested (he'd get first dibs). I also wanted to know (if people don't know now, that's fine) if people would be interested in having Resistance 2 on Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday night (other nights that aren't Friday could possibly work out too, I just said those three nights because they are wide open for sure). I'm just trying to get a day set for Resistance 2 and SOCOM since I feel those will be two popular PS3 online games at CAG. :)

People can send me a PM if they are interested or post in this thread.
 
I don't think the beta site's been posted that much in here, so I'm sure those who haven't followed the beta drama would like a link to where they can sign up.

You can preorder the LE at Gamestop right? It's not only through Amazon?
 
So my next thought is, how many of the CE do you think they'll make? I can probably hold off buying the CE if I know its going to drop in price ala RSV2 or Halo3 (although I doubt they'll be producing as many as Halo got).

Got my beta code from gamestop.com after pre-ordering online a couple days ago. They didn't fail me this time as they were true to their adverisement. It was entered just like the SOCOM one. here's the e-mail they sent me.

The beta period is from October 6 to October 30, 2008.

So now I wait for the email like socom I suppose lol. They asked for your PSN ID, PSN e-mail (the one linked to your psn on your ps3) and DOB. So yeah like the SOCOM one. Oct. 6- Oct. 30th sweet, that will give me time judge it some before I keep this pre-order or wait for it later.. since there are soo many freakin games coming out oct/nov.

Oh yeah after I registered it said was gauranteed to be in the public beta and it has the co-op and regular MP available for beta. AWESOME!

This was from a pre-order from GS.com and sent via e-mail to my order email.
 
I can confirm, I just picked up my beta cards from my local Gamestop here in Sourthern California.

Heck, I picked up extra reservations so I may have up to 2 extra premier beta spots.

Also, in the Insomniac Games podcast, the Full Moon Show, they say there'll be a lot of new official information about R1 coming int he next few weeks and months as the release is a little over a month away now. Specifically, they have a huge event where the press can play R2's mostly finished co-op mode. As of yet, no journalist has gotten to play the latest co-op build, and only a few got to try the very early prototype co-op back when R2 was first announced.

I'm expecting the media to get interested in R2 again after being wowed by GoW2 and CoD5 at first. Sounds like no other game to date has this level of co-op.

Wow, I never played the first resistance, but this is looking really good. Seems a lot like an upgraded halo from the videos, which is exactly what I would want it to be. May need to actually consider buying this...
 
Please do consider buying it. Also note that there's 8 player class based co-op. A campaign every bit, and perhaps moreso intense as Halo's. The character also has a personality, a face, and a backstory tied to the conflict.

On top of all that, the weapon designs in R2 are really fun to use.
 
i have a question about resistance 2 collector's edition...is it an Amazon exclusive? if not, do u think it would be possible for me to preorder it at a gamerush?
