Rhapsody & Persona 2, factory sealed in stock, www.gamequestdirect.com

THere is no way it is greatest hits. At least I think

Doesn't Sony require X amount to be sold (1 million or more)?

I doubt even enough were made to begin with to reach that amount.

Besides, I don't think I have ever seen a GH atlus game. If anything Disgaea would be closer to GH then anything else.
I think this is more exciting than the RE2 find ^-^
Indeed... this is the fastest I've seen a thread about full priced games grow.

Bah, I canceled my order. If they are shipping that many of these games, used copies will drop like a rock for a while anyway. I'll pick up a used Rhapsody for $20-30 or whatever. I want to play it, not save it, so I don't care if I break the seal if it's complete.
enough of the GH talk, I will personally chop off a testicle if this is true.

I've been following this thread like a hawk from the beginning. I've been on the edge of my seat with this drama, seeing old theories unanimously trashed and new theories coming to light. Good stuff. :applause:

About Greatest Hits requirements. For the PSX era it used to be 1 million+ sold. Sony changed it to 400k+ for the PS2 era. That's why you saw a lot of games become Greatest Hits in the past years on the PSX side of things that would never have become Greatest Hits if it were still at the 1 million+ requirement.

-Morpheus

PS I have no clue how Microsoft does their Platinum Hits line. Its so random.

I called and changed my order from 3 rhapsody and 1 persona to just one copy of rhapsody.

There are just too many risks involved to chance buying 3 copies of rhapsody, the prices will end up plummeting on ebay and I will be sorry I bought 3, so I am just buying one for myself to open and play, and I will buy a used copy of persona 2 on ebay.

The guy is prett nice thoguh, he even helped me out on paypal to refend my money on the phone and help me through it. Im sure he is pissed about all the order calls hes getting, but hey hes making money!

There is only 20,000 prints of Rhapsody... So there is no GH...

I'm betting on the 1,500-1,800 which I posted... which is finally put up...

and it's still 1 million mark to be GH... it has to be a worldwide... not just US sales alone...
enough of the GH talk, I will personally chop off a testicle if this is true.
We will personally want proof.

I don't think this is a GH either but starting with Final Fantasy Tactics (which supposedly sold under 200, 000) Sony became a lot more flexible with reprinting psone games and giving them the GH treatment.

I didn't say there was a GH for Rhapsody. I posted the info of GH so people would know instead of throwing around guesses of how a GH title becomes GH.

And no, its not a million. Its 400k+.

Here is a link proving its 400k+:
http://ps2.ign.com/articles/360/360255p1.html

And here is a link proving that PSX titles are still turning Greatest Hits even in 2005:

BTW Get your facts straight.

After Edit: Here's a link of games that sold 1 million+ in the US and at the bottom are ones worth mentioning that didn't make it:

It's 400,000 copies. And the game needs to have been on the market for at least nine months (some sources claim eight).
Anyway, there's absolutely no chance of a Greatest Hits release of either of these titles.
I passed on Persona 2, but only because I got lucky and won a like-new copy on eBay for $30 a few months ago. This is an incredible opportunity for the 99% of RPG fans who allowed these titles to pass by unnoticed.
The free shipping code also works on just one title, for those interested.

i ordered 3 games for a total of 150 bucks. I figure this if the prices crash they crash. I spend more on this on Car insurance in 3 months and when you dont use it its like tossing that money out the window (knocks on wood)

EDIT: Just kiddin', buddy ;-).

Holy Shit.

I'm tempted to join the bandwagon, but I'll pass. This does make me wonder though, I've had a factory sealed Persona 2 for about 2 years now and am curious how much it is now. Best $20 I ever spent at TRU. :p

Okay i'm posting since every one is wondering if this title is a remake or not. The answer is i don't know either. All the answers provided to me are based on speculation, I contacted Atlus when i heard of the rumor, about inventory being available of Persona 2 & Rhapsody. Atlus claims no remake, and that is what my understanding of the situation is. The inventory is almost out of both titles, quite a few hoarders who were buying to speculate canceled. We had single orders of 50+ plus copies, which we canceled, we are trying to prevent hoarders from buying this title to a certain extent. That is why you are seeing more inventory available.

Damn you hoarders!! Grr.. that actually makes sense. I saw one auction close with all 24 copies going to one guy. People like him probably realized soon after that they're kidding themselves as others are doing the same thing...

As long as I get my Rhapsody and Persona 2, I'll be happy. But I still don't have a confirmation email or anything. And I selected 3 day so that means my item won't be here on Friday as it should've been!:whistle2:x

So this is how you once again have 120 copies of both? That's about the same amount that you had yesterday at this time. A little scary.
Hoarders, resellers, I hate them w/ a passion. They are the fucking scum of the gaming world. SMN420, thanks for reporting in.
I'm sure you are not the only one on this site who feels that way. :)

Just called GQ and the same guy picked up from earlier. He doesn't seem happy to be alive, but he told me that my item is shipping out today and I will get a tracking number. I'm sure this will be the case for a lot of us, but I was on the first page of this thread when I ordered mine so I don't know.

sorry I am calling bullshit, I was watching the inventory on the website pretty much all night yesterday, never did it drop 50 at once.
I know it's been talked about already, but he has some real bad feedback recently on his ebay account for failure to provide the product...http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=gamequestdirect... It's possible that they were legit at one point, but have fallen out recently. I'm not testifying to that, but I would certainly be leary of dealing with them until others can verify some recent history.
What Trust said earlier is true, I think, in that you're bound to have a few negatives after dealing with 11k+ people. Nevertheless, they got a whole slew of negatives in late July for nonshipment.

In other news, I haven't gotten a shipping confirmation yet.

Same here, if I don't have shipping confirmation by tomorrow after work I'm cancelling. I have had an uneasy feeling about this ever since I ordered.
sorry I am calling bullshit, I was watching the inventory on the website pretty much all night yesterday, never did it drop 50 at once.
It was on eBay, not the site...

As for the site, I'm guessing that even if 10 people ordered 3 copies each, that's 30 copies right there.. but I'm sure some people went out on a limb and ordered 10 copies or more just to sell back for a profit.

Well, I'm still hoping this is going to work out.

wow, there were a bunch of copies on ebay yesterday.....now there's only 5 listings for Rhapsody. this is weird.

2 hours till they close and I still have no confirmation. I am a little angry. I called when they opened and they said my game was shipping today. I then called just a while ago and got the same answer. I'll call ONE more time in an hour, but if it doesn't ship then I guess I'll have to cancel. I guess I can give it another day, but I will have to think about this.

My bank account was already freaking charged too. That is bull! That's why I called a little while ago. FYI

Well, they have to charge it before shipping. So whether that's an hour before or a day before, it has to happen at some point. But certainly, if it doesn't ship out by the end of the day, I'd bitch.

if you dont have it in a week or two Just disput the credit card charges. its very simple to do, i did it twice with best buy (when both packages never showed)

Neither game is a reprint they have AlreaDY said they will Not reprint rhapsody. Im not sure about Persona 2 but im pretty sure they wont reprint that either.

if i dont have mine by the 20th im calling up my credit card company ... Im glad i didnt do paypal

Anyone have their credit charged without prior shipping notice? At this point, it feels like this could be a great deal or the greatest scam in CAG history. Greatest Hits, indeed.

i have no clue what else this would be
DEAR LORD.

Hey kids, this is how it is in the most simplistic form possible: THIS IS A CALCULATED RISK. IF YOU CANT AFFORD TO LOSE MONEY IF THE PRICES PLUMMET ON THESE GAMES, THEN GO TO ANOTHER fuckING DEAL.

Whoever mentioned the words "Greatest Hits" should be kicked in the face. Playstation games have all but virtually ceased to be made, why the fuck would they make a new round of GH games. besides that, when the hell have you EVER seen an Atlus game go GH?

This is a reputable company. This thread is almost a carbon copy of the RE2 thread.

This is not a rerelease. If any ps1 games are rereleased, it'll be on PS2 or PS3 compilation discs. There is NO financial incentive to reprint/rerelease these games.

This company obviously has issues with inventory management. They can hire me to straighten everything out and run the show, but it won't be for less than 15 an hour.

The worst case scenario is you get a refund, either peacefully or via chargeback.

There are are a few windows on when to unload this game if you are trying to make $. One closes in a week. Otherwise, be prepared to hold onto it for a few months.

Finally, Rhapsody sucks. It's an average strat RPG that you need to play on mute, or the music will KILL YOU. Persona 2 is worth the $, especially if you are a megaten junkie
if i dont get my order and disput my charges what should i say?
just tell the credit card company your package never showed. The credit card company will file all the paper work on the lost package you dont have to do a thing. dont let the shipping company tell you that you have to file a lost report and wait up to 3 months to get your money back cause that is a lie.
