Trust me, the shows you originally listed off were *far* more "meh" than anything I listed. Like I said, Kiddy Grade is probably the best of the lot, but even that's stretching it. Anyways, bullet points!

-The El Hazard OVA is only two volumes. That's all of it.

-Gankutsuou is SO GOOD and SO WORTH IT.

-Jubei-chan is one of my favorite anime series *ever*, but if you haven't seen the first half, you'd be missing out on a large chunk of the story.

-Kodocha is one of the best values of the whole sale. There's a lot of it, but it's all *so good*! Actually, I'd probably advise picking up the first six discs from the sale, and then get the second collection for the rest of the discs. Volume 9 is MIA.

-X is $32 for the whole series, unless you want the Remix versions. The video and sound were already fantastic on the originals, so unless you *need* fancy surround sound, the originals are great.

-I thought Witchblade looked "meh" too until I finally picked it up on an impulse buy, and wow, was I ever wrong. On the outside, it looks like a vapid, big-breasts fighting show, but it turned out to be a fantastic character-driven sci-fi drama that I really enjoyed.
If flipping DJ Max crew edition works out, i may lose my entire profit thanks to you. I knew there was a reason i stopped visiting this thread, it drains my money. I wish i'd known about El Hazard being 2 volumes only, i placed my order already (and i'll try to place one more the day the sale ends, we'll see). I'll try and get Monte Cristo, El Hazard, and the other two Air volumes in (maybe the movie too). As for X and Witchblade, and ESPECIALLY Kodocha, unfortunately they'll have to wait for another time. My first order:

1 $7.00 * dart001 Air TV Series DVD 1 (Hyb)
1 $7.00 * dartbx1 Air TV Series DVD 2 (Hyb) + Artbox
1 $28.00 * fun05860 Galaxy Railways Complete Collection D
1 $1.00 * mcg001 Nuku Nuku, All Purpose Cultural Cat G
1 $3.00 * av80130 Scryed (S-cry-ed) DVD 1 (Hyb): Lost G
1 $3.00 * av80131 Scryed (S-cry-ed) DVD 2 (Hyb): The Al

That completes my s-cry-ed collection, and i'm sorry to the other series' you mentioned, but i REALLY want to see GR =/.

I netflixed Haibane and was underwhelmed & puzzled by all the hyped reviews. I'd say hell yeah for Hell Girl anyday.

X tv left me feeling like it should've been more epic and falling short. Hooked till the end, but the emotional punch just didn't reach where the orchestral piece Sadame strived for. Inuki the dog stole the show. I wanted to smack his owner.

Caught a few eps of Mythical Detective Loki Ragnorok and it's a romping mysterious supernatural horror comedy mix. The thinpak collection dropped to $29.99.

I couldn't remember what volumes of Kodocha I was missing when I was ordering from work yesterday (and for some reason, I never added that series to my dvdaf listings #-o). Turns out it's 9&10, so I'm going to call this morning & see if it's too late to add vol10 to my order. May have to break down & get 9 from Amazon's marketplace.

Kiddy Grade is a decent series. It just takes a while to get started...

And I mentioned it before but Witchblade is a surprisingly good series. I oringally picked it up for the fanserivce but found myself interested in the story.

Heh. I like that quote. :)

Not that the sale in the bargain bin isn't good, but I've been checking that list for weeks, and from what I can tell, there's no adjustment on a lot of the prices, all RighStuf International did was put up a banner and email campaign that advertised the discounts up to 95%.

Slightly misleading, yes, but the prices have always been good in the bargain bin.
Heh. I like that quote. :)
Well it's the truth. Just take a look at the cover and tell me what else you would expect from it.

Picked up Tsubasa 5 & 6 for the BF's sister (so she can fill up that artbox), plus the Saiyuki Double Barrel DVDs for myself (don't want to put the time/money into the rest of Saiyuki just yet).

I also got a Saiyuki vol. 7 plus box, just to have something to put the double barrel discs in. If anyone local wants the vol. 7 disc, it be yours. (I say local just becuase the cost of shipping makes it pretty useless for anyone I'd have to mail it to.)

I find it kind of ridiculous how some of the prices from the bargain bin ended up increasing in this sale.

Edit: Ended up getting:

Yugo the Negotiator 1-4
My Otome 1-7 with box
Nadia 1
Pre-Tear 2-4
s-CRY-ed 1-2
Vandread 4
Spiral 1 with box

All for $79.99

I agree about Witchblade. I got mine from the Best Buy sale.

I've bought more than my share of shows based on fanservice potential.

Don't forget they added more stuff last time they had this sale. Placed a small order since I already have most of the stuff from te last sale.

1 $10.00 * pd11689 Armitage III: Dual Matrix DVD (Hyb) (
1 $28.00 * fun07730 Burst Angel DVD Box Set (Hyb)
1 $6.00 * pd12747 Cinema Deluxe Terror Pack (6 movie se
1 $4.00 * piocd51952 Tenchi Muyo: The Movie CD Soundtrack
1 $4.00 * piocd52702 Utena, Revolutionary Girl CD Soundtra

Show's i'd suggest would be My-Hime, My-Otome, and Witchblade. Steal at the prices they are charging

And that's all it took to prod many people to go digging through to place orders. I read that a lot of sites mentioned the sale and they got swamped for a bit, so it's smart strategy on TRSI's part to move old inventory.

Love the bargain bin as a fairly new discovery myself, but this sale isn't all that spectacular for the same reasons you mentioned. The increased traffic has now forced those who were on the sidelines to go into frenzy mode for fear of dwindling stock due to the new/reawakened shoppers.

Kaching!

Unrelated, but I noticed on TRSI news that they recently started a disc swap (+fee) program for those who want the newly remastered Irresponsible Captain Tylor TV DVD discs. Even with the $20 fee, it's a great offer IMO since this new version, with the exception of the remastered video, is pretty stripped-down. TRSI really went all-out with the previous box (which included a hardcover novella, soundtrack + artbook) & I'm definitely keeping that one (it's already reselling more than its original MSRP).

Here's the form if you want in:

Decided to place another order for Kodocha 1-6, Kodocha box set 2, and Witchblade 1-6 from earlier suggestions. Kodocha looks like fun from what I previewed on Youtube and I think I've seen an episode of Witchblade before which was pretty good.

Hopefully that's all for now, RightStuf has been owning my wallet lately, haha.

Great choices! You should be pretty happy with those.
Great choices! You should be pretty happy with those.
Yeah, looking forward to watching them!

Also, RightStuf just added some Eureka Seven DVDs to the bargain bin, both regular and special editions.

 • Eureka Seven DVD 1 (Hyb) Special Edition (w/Tshirt, CD, Manga) - $10.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 2 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 3 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 3 (Hyb) Special Edition w/shirt - $10.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 4 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 5 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 5 (Hyb) Special Edition w/Manga - $10.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 6 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 6 (Hyb) Special Edition w/Manga and Shirt - $10.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 7 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 7 (Hyb) Special Edition (w/Soundtrack,Manga, Tshirt) - $10.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 8 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 9 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 9 (Hyb) Special Edition (Shirt, CD, Manga) - $10.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 10 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 10 (Hyb) Special Edition (Shirt, Manga) - $10.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 11 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 12 (Hyb) - $3.00
 • Eureka Seven DVD 12 (Hyb) Special Edition (w/Tshirt, CD, Manga) - $10.00

I ordered the regular editions of Eureka Seven 7-12 since I already have the collection 1 pre-ordered from a previous sale. Also picked up the El Hazard OVA 1st series from Kirin's recommendation since I was looking for some filler for free shipping.

Eureka Seven at (mostly) $3 per disc? HECK YEAH!! This is great - even cheaper that the upcoming Anime Legends collections I was planning on purchasing!

Oh, and if people are wondering, volumes 1 and 7 come with the artboxes to house the show. The other "special edition" boxes are only meant to house the bonus items.

Good deal yes , but for me , the space saving factor of the legends collections is also an issue. Decisions decisions.:whistle2:k

I ran out of shelf space years ago, for both video games and DVDs. It's sad having all sorts of awesome stuff packed up in boxes in my closet...

Thats the same thing stopping from grabbing My-Otome. And it will probably keep me from grabbing Eureka Seven as well... Then again the series kind of went downhill for me later on anyway.

Oh no doubt , same here. Actually I have most of my stuff in boxes right now since I don't have a suitable shelve setup for most of my stuff. Still , I like it when I can get a boxset/collection that takes up less space than single volumes. Much like I've been replacing some of my older video games with digital versions to free up some space as well.

I'm not necessarily going to pass up a deal though over space issues.
Is Pani Poni Dash worth 50 bucks?
Not as far as I'm concerned. But it would be $40 if you got the individual volumes with the box.

...Eureka 7... OH MEIN GOTT

Gotta get! I didn't even like it that much, but... $92 for 8 shirts, 6 mangas, 12 DVDs, 4 soundtracks, and boxes?! No way I can resist.

I still don't know what to get besides Moon phase, and it's gonna sell out :/
I wanted another set, but nothing really grabs my interests, besides My-Otome, which will eventually hit 3$ per disk like My-Hime.

Edit - I got Moon Phase + Kiddy Grade :/ I hope Kiddy grade is good.

The price for My-Otome keeps me away more than the space issue. I don't think I can bring myself to pay more than ~$20 for the series.

:/ = lol
Well, everyone said horrid things about Black cat, but I really enjoyed it. They said how it was obsessed with Saya and how the ending was horrible. I guess I enjoy almost anything...
As much as I told myself that I wasn't going to get anything from this sale, I broke down and picked up Eureka Seven.
What the?! When did Eureka 7 go on sale?! Looks like it's time for another order. Any ideas on which special editions I should get? Each one can be used as a holder for each half of the set right?

I'm not sure when it went on sale because I swear I looked through everything Thursday evening and didn't see it listed among the bargain bin.
According to Kirin, vol 1 and 7 have the boxes to hold the series.

Ordered Eureka Seven and got special editions to 1,7, and 9. Is the manga just the normal manga to the series? If so i can just look for it later if i like it. Didn't feel like getting every special edition, i just wanted soundtrack in 9.

*edit looks like they are just normal manga* Glad. I've been eyeing this show for a while now and for $54 for 12 discs w/ art boxes, a few soundtracks, and manga its a hell of a deal.

Since it's just a disc-for-disc switch (you keep all the spiffy extras), I'd consider doing it... if the count wasn't different! What's up with the 5th disc, TRSI? I can't put that back into the old artbox.

I will make sure my BF's sister knows about this, though- she's always borrowing my Tylor DVDs, I'm sure she'd like a set of her own. (If it goes on a good enough sale one day, I might re-buy it too. Tylor's a great show.)

I'm interested in Eureka 7, but It's On Order Now, was it always like that?
Also, what SE's do I get if I just want enough boxes to house the series? I just want to have the series split up in art boxes, and don't really need anything extra.
Shipping is $14 ????

Is there a code or am i fucked?

Just buy $49 worth of merchandise for free shipping.

Just select "value shipping," after you've reached that number.

Yes, it was always "On Order from the Manufacturer." And your artbox question has been answered at least twice, maybe three times now - 1 and 7.
Is the Basilisk set worth the $28? I'm thinking of watching after seeing the Shinobi movie.
It was on sale last time and a lot of people said it was mediocore but I bought it anyway. My GF and I really liked the show, her more than I even. It starts off a little confusing cause there's so many characters but it really picks up in the middle. The only problems are it drags at the end alot, like the last 3 episodes, there is a recap episode you can totally skip in the middle, and there is one episode where it shows them the day before the fighting started and it feels completely out of place, you might be better off skipping that one too. We saw the Shinobi movie after the anime and didn't like it cause it changed things but if you saw the movie first the anime is a lot more detailed and they use the same voice actors. I say get it, totally worth $29.

I took the plunge and bought all 8 LE of Eureka Seven along with the non LE singles. total cost $92. It was too good of a deal to pass up and I notice all of them are "on order from manufacturer" Its most likely going to be over a month wait for them to ship but oh well I'm a patient fellow.

8 shirts
8 boxes
8 Manga Volumes[6 original manga, 2 video game manga]
4 soundtracks

All that right there is more than $92 alone. Not even including the full 50 episode series.

I will have that exact order placed when Eureka Seven DVD 2 gets down to around like 30 left in stock. I'm just waiting to see if there will be other deals worthy of adding to the order. :S

I should point out for everyone that the special edition version of volume 9 does *not* come with a CD soundtrack, contrary to RightStuf's description. Volumes 1, 7, and 12 are the only ones with soundtrack CDs.

I'm tempted to pick up My-Otome... but I know the moment I do I'll hear about the Legends edition. Which I could probably get for just about the same price as this deal during a Bandai sale and save some much needed space.... I'm also considering picking up some manga. But I'm tempted to wait and see what the next sale is for....

When it was on sale for $25 Christmas time, people said it was bad, and i decided to pick it up anyway.

I personally thought it was great. While there are a couple throwaway episodes, the fighting is awesome and gory, and opening/closing is amazing, and the show overall is very satisfying. I'm glad i bought it :).

Its been at the current price for around 2 months now .. I'm still waiting for volume 4 that I ordered back on march 9th.. though besides that I've received everything and adore the box[comes with a little otome cellphone strap] far greater than I would one of the anime legend bricks.
