Well played sir, well played.... :bomb:

Haruhi 2 arrived today, and my 3 $5 Blind Box items were Happy Lesson OVA, Magical Meow Meow Taruto, and Asian Action Pack 2 (2009: Lost memories, No Blood No Tears, Public Enemy, Conduct Zero, and Jungle Juice).

I'll be holding onto the Asian Action Pack 2, but the other two I own already. Might Goozex at least one or both.

Rightstuf continues to please. Another upcoming release shipped early. KimiKiss Collection 1 is on its way. Makes me think that Toradora Collection 2 and Person Collection 2 should be shipping shortly as well.

Such a long time with no posts in this thread!

They're starting a Funimation sale today, and it lasts until the 14th. I'm thinking of picking up Full Metal Panic! and Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU on blu ray. I'm considering Eden of the East, too, but I think I might just wait to pick that up at a later date.

I've got a fair amount of anime on hold as of late like Nadia and some others which I just bought the first season to go along with the 2nd season which I got from a 10$ blindbox and just started watching it after finishing Basilisk and the MGS Compilation movies and Char's Counterattack.Nadia has turned out pretty good so far but only 8 episodes in.Luckily thanks to the blindbox I got the whole series for a tad less then 22$

I'm tempted to burn even bigger holes through my wallet and get Trigun on sale for a slightly smaller price of 30$ with that and just awesome boxart and Tokyo Majin S.A.V.E. Edition and add a blind box for free shipping but I think I'll just end up skipping it for now until a bigger bargain comes along.I haven't seen Tokyo Majin or anything but I've seen some decent reviews and it just looks/sounds appealing.Anyone have an opinion on it?

Does anyone know anything about any sort of rightstuf Christmas sell or what past sells have been?Like just a certain brand sell, like the funimation sale going on here or would it be like 10% off extra for every item? Thanks.

Eden of the East looks really interesting, I'm going to pick it up at some point but my backlog is a bit too deep now.

I'm thinking about Eden of the East and maybe Sengoku Basara, I know I'm getting to the game and the anime had to be kind of good to get another season.

The only reason I can see to wait on Eden of the East is if you want to hold on for a Tsubasa-esque complete pack with all three movies and the show together in a pack, since FUNi licensed all three, but no idea when those will actually show up.

Wouldn't have noticed if not for this sale, but apparently funimation picked up and is re-releasing Gun X Sword, here's hoping they ship that early too. Also picked up Aqua Bless from the previous adult sale, a rare violation of my no-paying-for-pornography policy, the art/stories are just good enough and a 13.37 price made me chuckle.

Don't think I've ever seen this thread go this long without a post , especially when there are two special sales going on. Makes the previous 8 days with no post look like nothing.

Black Friday sale going through tomorrow (I think). Beck SAVE set for $15 and Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. Season 1 and 2 anime legends sets for $25 each seem like good deals. Not sure about anything else though.

Also there's a 60% off Dr.Master books going on , don't know when it ends though. Thinking about picking up some new series but not sure whats any good. But at around $4 a volume for a lot of them I suppose it wouldn't be a big loss even if some of them were lousy.

Weekly coupon is Yen Press stuff. Good through monday.
Is the new sale for everything including the stuff that says coupons not applicable?
The in-stock sales are only for items listed as 'in stock' that aren't excluded from further discounts already. It's actually one of the worst sales TRSI does.

It's not totally pointless, though... there's certain publishers/items that don't go on sale outside of these in-stock sales, so assuming they've got the odd item around, you can a get a markdown. More notably, these sales are about the same as publisher sale on books and manga. Since you can pick around from all manga instead of just 1 publisher, it can be a great way to fill gaps in your collection.

I'm all caught up though, so I'll be skipping this one.

I know this has nothing to do with Rightstuf in general, but does anyone know of a Ghost In The Shell-Stand Alone Complex Season 1 box set fairly decent price. I don't care if its the original or the re-release version.....any help would be appreciated.

I ordered the first time through rightstuf. Sucks that it took 13 days for me to receive it. :whistle2:( I dunno if it has to just do with Christmas shopping or the service they use through the postal service being slow.

Ranma 1/2 S1-3 that I ordered during the holiday sale arrived today. One of the boxes had a Best Buy $39.99 sticker on it, lol.

I would blame holiday shipping. I had several packages arrive a few days late during the holidays. In my experience economy shipping arrives within a week of shipment (usually about 3 days).

Surprised this hasn't been posted, 40% off Funimation sale running through Feb 3.

Eyeing Eva 2.22 br and FLCL dvd, maybe Dragon Ball Movie Complete Collection.

Thanks for posting. I just learned of this deal from ur post. Ordered Eva 2.22 and the newest preorder of One Piece 3.5. It seems Funimation usually has sales like this every 3 months or so.

TRSI rotates through the big studios, so any studio's sales will turn up 2-3 times a year.

Anyway, picked up the Eden of the East movie (I actually marathoned that series. First time I've ever done that!), the last FMA Brotherhood DVD, and Sgt. Frog seasons 1 and 2. I've been waiting for ages for those season sets, so I'm pretty stoked about hat. ;)

Psst, there's two Eden of the East movies, and 5 volumes of FMA:B.

I pre-ordered the Eden of the East movie as well, and Ridebackers. I shouldn't even be making these orders... my backlog keeps getting larger... blah
Evagelion 2.22 is cheaper on Amazon for DVD.

FLCL is also cheaper on Amazon for DVD.

Blus are both cheaper on Rightstuf tho.
You can also factor in ga 10% discount, although even with that FLCL dvd is cheaper at Amazon. My ga just expired so I'll have to renew it ($12), but personally I rather give money for anime to Rightstuf than Amazon.

Didn't know that- I typically only keep up with this stuff as the discs get release dates, lest I drive myself crazy waiting for something that won't come for months (or years). And I'm just so used to 52 episode stuff I simply figured that'd be it. *shrugs*

No matter- it's not like there were pre-orders up for these things, so it wouldn't change what I bought... just what I'll buy later. ;)

Hey guys random question,

I havent ordered from RS in quite awhile but Ive been wanting to pick up the Dragon Boxes. Does RS still pack nicely and do you get your stuff in close to mint condition?

I tried getting from Amazon but they arrived all banged up, so I''m looking for another solution.

Thanks!

ya RS boxes are very very well packed. I've never had anything come in less than perfect condition.

Is it me, or are some of the prices on anime Blurays on Amazon lower today. I'm looking at:
Eden of the East [Bluray] - $24.49
Sengoku Basara [Bluray] - $23.99
Casshern Sins Part 1 and 2 [Bluray] - $21.99
Full Metal panic! COmplete Series [Bluray] - $21.99
Claymore [Bluray] - $27.99

Seems Amazon lowered some of these titles again.

Edit: nevermind, Amazon has had these on sale before and have them again.

+1
I've had anime from Amazon come damaged (even had to exchange it once since the external damage affected the disc), but never had a problem with RS.

Amazon likes to play with prices, they can change any day. Even something that is a lightning deal today can be cheaper tomorrow.

Finally got the last of my shipment from the Viz sale last month. Didn't know JoJo sold out that well, despite it being seen as a lowseller. A shame that Viz won't release anymore for quite a while.

Everything I've ever received from them was packaged superbly. Oodles of butcher paper ensured that the items arrived minty.

Just ordered:
Evangelion 2.22 br - $20.99
FLCL dvd - $23.99
Dragon Ball Movie Complete Collection dvd - $20.99
Der Mond Art of Evangelion (not part of current sale) - $18.74
Got Anime renewal - $12
----------------------------
Total: $96.71 - $8.74 (10% ga discount on everything except the ga renewal) = $87.97
fuck!

I was all set to buy Dragon Quest VI and another game, and suddenly Bandai 40% off comes along! What a dilemma! Gundam or DQ!
If it helps... most of the gundam have been cheaper at amazon and DD... then again... DQVI will prolly be cheaper in a month or so...

so it prolly didn't help...

Just noticed the OP hadn't been updated since november of last year. If anyone is a regular in here and interested in maintaining the OP more frequently, please PM me.

I saw posts upon posts in every anime sale thread saying "Wait for rightstuf's next funimation sale", and so I did. When it finally arrived, almost everything I wanted was overpriced and had crazy shipping.

The only reason I even updated it in November was (I think) to remove the "OP under construction from the Thread title since it had been under construction for a long time. Before that I can't even remember when it had been last updated. In my defense the censensus among many of the regulars seemed to be that a lot of the info in the OP wasn't really needed anyway since most useful info (new weekly/coupon sales , items worth getting) are posted in the thread regularly (they used to be anyway). That doesn't really excuse the fact that a clean useful OP can be beneficial to regular and non-regular thread go-ers alike.

If desired I could take another stab at cleaning up the OP and trying to keep it current , but if someone else is interested in taking the thread over I have no problems with passing the reins off to someone new.

What do you mean by "crazy shipping"? I assume you don't want to use the economy shipping for some reason?
It's no problem with whatever you choose. Essentially, if we have a site sale thread, it should at least have the weekly sale noted in the OP. So for example, if ADV dvds are on sale for 20% this week, just note that and possibly and notable DVDs which are in demand or a good deal. =)

I don't mind taking over the thread (presumably just starting a new one). From the different TRSI stuff that I post from the various sites, it won't require much effort on my end.

If I'm not mistaken, it goes like this:
$19.99 Chrono Crusade Complete Collection DVD (Hyb) Holiday Edition
Almost all extras (on-air openings missing for all but first four episodes, no big loss)
$24.99 Chrono Crusade Complete Collection DVD (Hyb) (Thinpak)
No extras, terrible loss.
$24.99 Chrono Crusade DVD Complete Collection (Hyb)
Everything but the on-air openings, good if you really don't want a weird christmas themed case.
$37.49 Chrono Crusade DVD Complete Series (Hyb)
???? Couldn't find any information about the extras on Funi's rerelease, they're usually pretty good about putting extras on.
That info was mostly derived from Mania's reviews.

I notice they are having a Bandai sale going on right now. I have been looking to purchase Ghost in the Shell SAC Season 1 but cannot find it cheap anywhere. I picked up the 2nd season at FYE for 19.99 and would like to find it around that price point. I noticed Rightstuf did not discount this particular item even though it is pretty cheap anyways...I just hate to pay up to 30 bucks shipping and all. The cheapass in me is dying. Is there any way in heck I can message righstuf about this and see if they will consider this a part of the sale. Has anyone done this in the past?
Is there any way in heck I can message righstuf about this and see if they will consider this a part of the sale. Has anyone done this in the past?
I doubt it. The way I understand it every sale is coordinated with the publisher, so RS can't just include an item from another publisher as part of the current sale.

$27 for GiTS SAC S1 is a decent price. You could wait for a sale on RS (doubt it would drop much further since msrp is $50), or Amazon every so often has an anime sale and this series has been included in the past (can't remember the price Amazon had it for, I think it was at least $20).
