I'm thinking just guitars...how the hell will drums work??
Apparently one of the cymbals is just for show, and only used to activate star power

Which in that case, I don't know how it will be activated w/ the Rock Band drum set, maybe pedal + yellow pad, since the cymbals are yellow & orange

Ah ok.

Well, this is tremendous news, as I can finally just have one set of drums and 2 guitars in my room, and enjoy all the games. However, now I need to decide if I should buy the full RB bundle or the full GH bundle. Either way I'm holding onto my Les Paul so I can still play GH2 and 3.

I want to sell my RB drums, Strat, Mic and GH2 Xplorer to my cousin for a fair price...what would be good?

$90/$100 maybe

They're used, so I think that's a fair price

RE: the Who DLC - They also added new 'who' specific title cards to the loading screens. Hopefully we get more of that in future DLC.

RE: Guitar Hero compatability with Rock Band Drums: http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/07/xbox-rock-band.html

Here's how it'll work. Speaking with Bright after the conference, I found out that the game's five-button drum track, shown above center, will be compressed down to four inputs if a Rock Band drum controller is inserted.

Sounds like they are actually putting in an effort for them to work properly.

Win... unless you are a leaderboard kinda person. I would assume you need all 5 notes for maximum scores. Then again, I would have also assumed the drums wouldn't be compatible so what do I know?

But if you are playing just to have fun, this news is excellent. No need for a second drum kit.
This better extend to the PS3 version as well. I can't bloody well switch to the 360 given all the DLC I have.

fuckity fuck fuck.
:grouphug:
I will buy your game if you make it so Activision.....
Dallow/Myke, does the Strat work on GH:A on the PS3?
I don't think either of us have that game, but I've never heard anyone mention that it does..... :hope fading:

I have the TAC adapter so I can use my other guitar, but I care more about playing drums on GH:WT.
Really glad about that.
It's about time.
yep. Who would have ever thought gamers would be excited about a loading screen.
Dallow/Myke, does the Strat work on GH:A on the PS3?
I'll let you know if GameFly ever ships out the game, but I suspect that the PS3 cockblocking between Activision and EA will continue.

Played some Baba O'Riley and Behind Blue Eyes last night and they were awesome. I was planning on just playing guitar but couldn't resist the urge to sing along. I was disappointed in the sound quality of the live tracks. I would have dl'ed My Generation and Summertime Blues if they sounded better.
There's a new free song in the in-game store - the artist is Vesuvius. Song is "Promised Land." On both PS3 and 360.
It's been there for like two or three weeks for free as cross promo with the movie The Rocker.

 Worth a shot. Good looking out anyhow. BTW, the drummer in that fake band is none other than Rainn Wilson (aka Dwight Schrute of the Office) I doubt he actually plays, but you never know.

I don't think he's as good as Dewey Cox.

I actually heard him on the radio this morning, he said he had to learn the drums for the role, he is now a "very mediocre" drummer

That doesn't mean he plays though. That's just so he looks competent on camera.

Does anyone know how much trade-in credit you get for the old Rock Band instruments at EB/GS?

I'd like to sell off my Strat, Drums and Mic before GHIV and RB2 come out and then pick up one of the new bundles depending on the compatibility.

My drum pedal is also starting to crack at the base, so that makes it harder to sell...
Is Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria not the gayest song ever? fucking sucks.

Anyway, what songs are in the new The Who pack?
thank you
Is Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria not the gayest song ever? fucking sucks.
There are so many worse songs than that.

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPS

Shut up.
Is there a Coheed and Cambria song that doesn't suck?
In the game, no.

Outside the game, yes. But thats my opinion. They are my favorite band but I hate most of the singles.

I'm sorry, you're right. Green Grass and High Tides is so fucking bad that I starting beating the shit out of my drum set near the end. If that song was any long I probably would have killed myself.
Is Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria not the gayest song ever? fucking sucks.
It's not even the "gayest song" in the game. It's also the only passable song I've ever heard from them, although I admit I hated their other stuff so much I didn't feel motivated to look for more after the first half-dozen.

I love Maps (and so does everyone else I introduce to the game), and the guitar for Welcome Home is pretty badass. Any other song I've heard by C&C is ass though...

What is it with the popular hating on Maps. Thats one of my favorite songs on there. It even made me check them out and buy their first album. I guess if its not heavy and "rocking" it sucks.
Lets see Weezer, Radiohead, and Maps all rank below that song
Why the Weezer hate? Weezer is awesome (but way easy in this game)
What does the blue circle next to a song mean? I was looking at my setlist and it is the only one that doesn't make sense.
Thats one of the bonus songs on the special playlist, thats all. Doesn't deserve a special recognition imo.
Is Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria not the gayest song ever? fucking sucks
Seriously? That's probably my favorite on-disc song to play and I went out and got the album over the weekend. To each his own, I suppose, but I'm very pleased with it.

But I only have one song that does this. What special playlist are you referring to?

Coheed is a great band, but I wouldn't expect someone who uses a St. Anger avatar to have good taste in music.

When you do the Tour mode and you go into the setlist where you play through each song, I think thats it. I can't remember exactly what its called, but it has that Flyleaf song and the Timmy song.

They put on the worst show I've ever seen in my life at the Houston Warped Tour a few years back. Also the singer looks like he needs a bath and a haircut very badly. But I do have friends who are into them despite the severe lack of stage presence.

Oh, and I love Maps. Hate Mississippi Queen and Dead or Alive.

It has nothing to do with "rocking". It's a stupid song with lame lyrics and it's annoying to listen to and boring to play.

Most bands on Warped Tour could use bath during the tour. As for the hair, that is his image.
