Just got my third guitar the other day. I seem to have terrible luck getting guitars that won't activate overdrive. Even the new one isn't half as responsive for overdrives as my old Guitar Hero 2 Guitar. Also my Drum pedal finally cracked today, I'm kind of disappointed it didn't last very long especially since I'm pretty gentle on with it, I always use it barefooted or with just light slippers. I never even use shoes with it. At least they have been good about quick replacements.

I'd love to see Smooth by Santana (ft. Rob Thomas). The guitar, singing, drums, and bass in that song are all awesome. Plus the guitar solo is pretty badass.

Also has anyone heard of the band Bullet for My Valentine? They have a song called The Poison (same title as their CD) and the guitar solo at 1:40 or so is just fucking insane. If you have time google video it or imeem.com it and tell me what you think.

This is funny because EVERY time I hear this song, I say to myself (or whomever is in the car with me) that this song SCREAMS to be in Rock Band... Its just a perfect song for us hard rock fans

I agree. Years of working in a supermarket means I'm a aficionado on soft rock songs, and Smooth is one of the best for this type of game. I wouldn't mind a few power ballads honestly, especially if they give the vocalist a chance to shine. I'm kinda hoping for "Faithfully" by Journey myself, as I'd love to belt that one out. Also, anything by Toto would be good I think, especially "Hold the Line" which has a nasty guitar solo, and some pretty awesome drum parts, same with "Rosanna".

They can't put in Smooth unless they put in Rainbow in the Dark first, which Smooth ripped off the keyboard part from LOL.

Lightning always bring me down.

My Target is now carrying Rock Band t-shirts. They say "Rock Band" at the top, and have the in-game symbol for an instrument below. I've only seen the guitar version, but presumably there are also versions for drums, mic, and maybe bass. The one I saw was black with blue screening. They are in the mens department with a few other music-themed shirts. $14.99.

Sounds pretty awesome... If they have a drum one I may actually have to look into buying one.

Seperate Ways may have been a meh music video but Faithfully was epic, revolutionary, and now constantly reproduced:

[quote name='bardockkun']Eager for Boston, but I feel I'm in the minority in wanting Journey to stay the hell away from Rock Band simply for this music video...

How dare you, sir? How dare you? j/k, that video is pretty bad. Great song, though.

I checked out that Bullet for My Valentine song, and while I would definetly play it in Guitar Hero, I'd have to pass on it in Rock Band. Not a fan of screaming incoherent lyrics.

Damn!

I'm gonna have to head to BB tomorrow to grab a points card. I am definitely excited to see Serj make it into Rock Band!

Why? Just buy in the marketplace.

I don't know if I want all the Boston songs, but definitely 2 of them.

Well, I have a BB gift card that needs spending.

Plus, there's a couple previous songs (and packs) that I should get to downloading.

I'm glad you checked it out. That riff seems too good to be left out of Rock Band OR Guitar Hero III. Bullet for My Valentine is one of the few bands I really like that does have the screaming lyrics (actually they don't scream the whole song which is nice).

I highly recommend the Boston songs. Not a dud in the bunch.
Seems like bass lines are prominent and fun to play too.

BUY BUY BUY

Will there be more sequentially-numbered track packs for bands already who already have dlc for the game?

I want to buy some Metallica, but if they're going to release full albums, then maybe it's better to wait.

I can't wait for this tonight... The first Boston album is one of my all time favorites (Don't Look Back and Third Stage are also amazing). I listened to it all the time in high school. I still can't believe Brad Delp is dead.

HMX has said (if I recall correctly) that they are trying to figure out how to deal with this issue in terms of pricing, and should have an answer soon, especially (for example) with people who purchased the Grateful Dead pack or the Metallica Pack (if they come out with an album, which I imagine is likely).

Thanks. I guess for now, then, I'll purchase single tracks by random artists who will most likely not have track packs/albums available down the road.

I just picked up a "More Cowbell" t-shirt for $3 on clearance on Kohl's. It takes playing Don't Fear the Reaper to a whole new level. The only downside is the extra wear and tear on the mic from getting a little too rough with the cowbell.

That's good to know. I always feel bad for the people who have to play bass. A lot of the songs are just plain boring.

The Boston songs are the best DLC so far.

Boston is so fucking amazing and playing the drums for those songs is awesome.

BUY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boston songs are my favorite DLC also, played them on expert drums and guitar so far and will have to try bass next. I've finished them all on expert guitar and drums, they're definitely awesome to play on drums.

I finally finished Don't Fear The Reaper on Expert Drums after at least a month of being stuck on it. I got through the drum roll section without needing to use my overdrive somehow so I saved that for the last section which I was having trouble on. Now I just have Run To The Hills to finish Expert, those drum rolls start to wear me out midway through!

Got Peace of Mind and More Than a Feeling, plus Interstate Love Song today. Three GREAT buys.

On another note, I have an interesting scenario and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem:

My 360 finally RROD'd yesterday, so I yanked off the HDD and plugged it into the other 360 deck I had lying around. Booted it up, played a bit, had fun. Downloaded a few songs this morning and played a bit. This afternoon I had disconnected my system from Live and found that any of my old DLC songs (i.e. the ones NOT downloaded this morning) wouldn't play on the new Xbox. They would appear in my song choices, but then I'd get a neverending load screen for them when trying to play them. It wasn't a freeze, and I could quit to the dashboard and get back in, but I couldn't play any of those tracks without reconnecting to Live. Only the DLC from this morning and the in-game tracks worked while disconnected.

Any ideas what this is all about?

It's the DRM scheme. Downloads are tied to console & tag, and if either one is 'wrong' you have to be on LIVE.

Boston is still #2 to the NIN pack for me. However, these are my new favorite songs to play on bass. They are a LOT more lively and complex than most of the other songs in this game.

Boston pack is great. Only played guitar but love the solos. They really need to put out a keyboard or keytar for RB2. Its getting weirder playing these parts that are obviously not guitar. NIN pack has a bunch of piano parts too.

I have discovered the power of Boston:

I love this pack. Here's hoping for some Journey next week. Or, you know... Bad Religion.

Who knows what could be next week's dlc!

They could bring on the classic rock singles or the Heavy Metal pack or surprise us again since, it is April Fools on Tuesday.

Hell yeah x 2!!! Both of those would be awesome. I'd also love some Social Distortion or Offspring.
