Noticed the crowd singing on a couple of the Offspring songs too. Looks like they are doing this more often.
Rock band already has a good amount of metal. Why more?
Why not? As long as they keep releasing a lot of DLC like they have been lately, bring on more of everything.

Saying "metal" is far too much of an umbrella term anyway.
Sorry guys, I guess I'm just more partial to metal because I don't have a VAGINA.
It only took 94 pages before we got to the best thing in this thread.

You win. You fucking win on every conceivable level.

i dont feel like there is enough of this type of music in the game...there is some..but not nearly enough of just this type of shit.....
I see one good band and 4 cut-yourself ones.
And Breaking Benjamin. Could do without the others, but Mudvayne would also be cool. I don't think they could do Mudvayne though. Doesn't their drummer play with a double bass pedal? I know he does in the song Not Falling, but I'm not sure of others.
Not sure about Mudvayne, I don't listen to them. But almost all metal drummers play with double bass.

Maybe if I understood one word that's said in shit like Visions, I would actually like the song. Rock band already has a good amount of metal. Why more?

Because Metal and jazz are where all the most highly skilled musicians are, for the most part. But I don't think jazz would work too well in RB.

I just want some more guitar heavy music in the game. I don't really like Dream Theater all that much, but their instrumentals are
I like how people shit on metal music because you can't understand the vocalist. I mean, you know they're talking about raping a woman and stuffing her guts into the oven, so why not look passed that and listen to the instruments being played? Unless you can't understand those either. I listen to metal daily and think the vocalists are incredibly retarded/horrible, as are the lyrics, but I don't put the entire genre down because their talent behind the instruments is incredible. Oh, and this is coming from someone who listens to rap/beats/electronica 95% of the time.

There is plenty of metal out there that doesn't have screaming/growling vocals, it just doesn't get as much attention or radio play. Of course, my favorite band is Dream Theater, so who knows.... ;)

I also agree with the fact that the vocals are complete and utter shit and, for me, it drowns out the rest of the music no matter how talented the guitarists/drummers are. Sure, the guitarists can play much faster and much more efficiently than I ever will, but the static/gain/effects they use combined with the abomination on the microphone overpowers it and drives me away from the genre in complete disgust. It's hard for me to say a genre is good when they only have "talent" - potential can only take you so far.

I'd love to play anything from them on here thats for sure. Only if its from Gift from Taproot though, never liked anything from there newer stuff (haven't listened to there new cd yet though). Huge Mudvayne fan.

This just in...rockband.com store doesn't work in firefox. I have been wondering what the hell has been up with it for a while now and decided to finally check it in internet explorer where it worked.:bomb:

My band:

the20power20trip422x281mi7.jpg

Savage is on the mic (we all know he has some crazy rapping skills)
Hogan plays guitar
Piper plays bass
Sting plays the drums

So, I got my repaired 360 back. And I must say...Redownloading the many songs I've DLed in RB is the biggest pain in the ass.

lol. I appreciate pretty much all that goes into this game (save for Jimmy Buffet) as long as it's fun to play, but if I can get songs that are fun to play AND that I like listening to, that's even better. Not to mention, most of the time the metal songs are more challenging, thus they are more fun.

There is a fine line between challenging and bullshit. Metal likes to toe that line, and often crosses it.

Metal does have a lot more potential in Rock Band in general than a lot of other genres though. When I say metal though I mean Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth, and Pantera. You know, Heavy Metal!

Death Metal is piss though, and needs to stay the fuck out of my Rock Band.

Sounds like someone's guitar skills aren't quite up to par. Granted, I can't beat a good chunk of songs, but I still appreciate them being fucking balls and will dance with great glee when I finally do. I bought the whole Megadeth album even though it turns out I can only beat a couple of songs (I blame my girlfriend: "Get it sweetie! You're the best, you can do it!")

I'd be for some more Maiden, but I'd rather it be the very early stuff; I don't dig on the vocalist they got after the 1st couple of albums. Judas Priest, fuck yes. I bought the whole album. Pantera, I hate to say, I've never really listened to, but if their stuff came out I'd probably pick it up.

Death metal isn't really my thing anymore. If some Cannibal Corpse comes on or something I might nod my head, but I'm not gonna go listen to them on my iPod. And like I said earlier, I can respect that Visions kicks my ass, and that their chick vocalist probably has more hair on her chest than I do (good thing?)
By that I mean GIVE ME MY DAMN ANTHRAX!
I can dig it. I loved Madhouse in GH2

I should go play that again....

?

You didn't keep your hard drive?
They just need some damn Bodom already. :bomb:
The only thing I wonder about Bodom is if they were to put that in, would the keyboard solo's (or better yet dueling guitar/keyboard solo's) be mapped to the guitar as well? It would be fun as hell though and I kinda want to say newer Bodom (after Hate Crew Deathroll) would be best so vocals wouldn't all just be all talking parts.

Though I would KILL for all of all of the Hatebreeder album on there.

My guitar skills are above par, but I am pretty sure that a majority of death metal and heavy metal require a lot more than par guitar skills.

As far what Iron Maiden content comes along, I don't really care as long as the Trooper is involved so I can sing and drum that bitch!

I also bought the whole Judas Priest album, and it is in fact awesome. This coming from someone who was not a fan of them, and really wasn't all that familiar with them to begin with. Definitely worth the MSP.

Follow the reaper or Hate Crew Deathroll album DLC would be epic.

Gwen, I think it does. RB1 set works with RB2, at least.

Hrmm... the kick pedal broke SHOCK!!!! on the RB1 set and I have an easy option to replace that with a working one. But it's... he keeps telling me it's okay, but i still have an ethical issue with it.

So I was thinking of just dropping most of my remaining FYE credit on the new set, IF the RB2 drums work with RB1.

The pedal? No, during the middle of a song, the hinge just broke. I was watching Jaeli most of the time, he wasn't doing anything crazy or using crazy excessive force on the kick. It just broke from pretty casual use.

I think he meant your replacement ethical dilemma.
Eh, no buys for me. I'll continue to save points for the No Doubt and Foo Fighters albums.
I bought the No Doubt pack in GHIII and wasn't terribly impressed with it. I'm interested in seeing what's included in Harmonix's pack.

I'm glad to see Crue being offered. Too bad it wasn't the Shout at the Devil album though. I'll grab some of these anyhow.

I need at least 5 songs off that album, so I may get the whole thing. Great offering.

I was thinking last night, what we really need in RB is some Porcupine Tree and Queensryche; the full Operation Mindcrime album anyone?

I'll probably check out the 3 or so songs that everyone seems to be kicking around, but I can't say that I give even two fucks about this album.

Maybe those of you that are going to pass on this should consider checking out the Judas priest album if you haven't. That thing is a 100% buy, this coming from someone that doesn't like or dislike the band, and isn't a metal freak.

How many people have the BSSM album?

Just want to know if it's worth getting if you're a "mild" RHCP fan. I know it's a great deal to buy the whole album, but I'm not sure I'd like every song.

Im all for songs before my time but just not a Crue fan. I wont be grabbing any of those. Is anyone else surprised though that we haven't seen Bohemian Rhapsody yet? I would love to see that song both for casual and party play. Nothing would be funnier than taking that song out and having people perform it at a party after people have had a few too many.

I've been posting about the Mindcrime album since Rock Band came out. I've submitted it a couple times on RB.com, posted in the forum and have it in my profile. And with that, Nightwish, Ayreon, Symphony X, & Pain of Salvation. I'd love to see Dream Theater's Metropolis pt.2: Scenes from a Memory album.

The game seriously needs some Tesla as well. They just had a new album out this week, so that was a missed opportunity.
Sorry guys, I guess I'm just more partial to metal because I don't have a VAGINA.
If liking my music to sound like actual, y'know, music (instead of a 5-6 minute collection of disparate sounds where the "singer" is just growling unintelligibly into the mic, the drummer is bashing on the drums as hard and as fast as he can and the guitarist is just plucking any strings he can find) means I have a vagina, then I guess I HAVE THE BIGGEST VAGINA IN THE WORLD.

Indeed. Visions isn't metal. Or music, for that matter.
