Server shutdowns: GWFL Marketplace 8-22!/GWFL 7-1-2014!/Burnout Revenge back up!

I can vouch for College Hoops 2k8 and All Pro Football 2k8 still working and they look fairly active for older games. I joined a league in both so they are still fully operational and they haven't shut down all but online matching which is the norm. If anyone wants to boost those, Top Spin 2 & 4, Don King Boxing, The Bigs 2 and Virtua Tennis 4 (isn't that 2k still?) let me know as I would rather knock them out now than miss out the chance later.

Yea, I was thinking that some of the random servers would stay up since the 2K announcement was so vague. I was actually unable to connect to the servers in NBA 2K12 Saturday morning and started searching around online and found that announcement. Giving NBA 2K12 barely a year of support is pretty poor, especially considering how popular the game is. Didn't they try to pull this last year and 2K pushed back the server closings for a few months after people complained about it? I guess with no lockout this year they didn't feel compelled to support the game. I know they want to get people to move to 2K13, but the games usually sell well so I'm not sure that brute forcing people to upgrade is the way to treat a loyal customer-base. It is pretty sad when a game that includes a year in its title doesn't even support online play for that entire year. :hot:
 
The retail Ghostbusters is supposed to be down for good, but some people still seem to be able to play online for the time being. Thanks for no warning. Cheves seem too buggy to be worth trying I think.

Ghostbusters STILL works. The press release included the 360 version, but it did not get shut down like the PS3 and PC versions. Could be a foreboding warning for 360 servers though.

Next week two new Specialisations will be released for all Halo 4 players. Pioneer introduces a Fast Track armour mod that allows players to rank up more quickly, and Pathfinder includes the Gunner armour mod, which decreases the time of weapon overheat when occupying a vehicle weapon position, and increases player speed while carrying a detached turret.

Yay for Halo 2 PC getting extended to June 2013.

Rather than wait and put it off, my buddies and I decided to do it last night. Got all the online done. Now to play the campaign :D
 
i hate how EA shuts servers down. I understand the games are 2 years old but really they are two years old i still play nhl 11 because i don't see a need to upgrade. I pay money for a product it should not be allowed to shut online servers down.

Forza 2 servers decommissions coming March 15
A quick heads up for Forza Motorsport 2 players: On March 15, we will be shutting down the Forza 2 servers. What does this mean for you? Essentially it means that auction house and gifting functionality will no longer be available. Players will still be able to race online in Forza Motorsport 2 via Xbox LIVE and the leaderboards will continue to function as normal.

Apparently, only one achievement will be affected:

Car Broker37 (20)
Buy or sell 10 cars online in the Auction House.
 
All Pro Football doesn't work AFAIK. My friend Ryan said the servers were shut down so we are going to look for Blitz The League 2 copies.

Good luck, extremely hard to find at GameStop and I think that game sells for around $30 used now.

Basic gaming in all pro football should work. It should only be league and tournament stuff that doesn't work.

Also, I just found out Dirtnet has been shut down for Dirt 2 on xbox, ps3 and PC meaning two achievements are dead. Racing online is still possible though.

Wow, that's really disappointing. Especially since it didn't even last a year. Wasn't this part of a Xbox 360 arcade promotion with Alan Wake's American Nightmare and some other games?
 
Any word on what THQ games are getting shut off? I know Nexuiz & Homefront are already down and there's rumors other games go down end of this month.

I have WWE All Stars & You Don't Know Jack I can test. 2K has said they will keep WWE 13 servers up.

Is that PS3 or 360? A PS3 site lists it down, but I don't see anything about it shut down on TA, but Homefront reflects the shut down.
 
WWE All-Stars is shut down too. Ended up trading my copies in for more than I paid for :D

Is WWE 12 still up?

I also noticed all the DLC and related content was delisted for the UFC's on xbox.com but Red Faction Guerrilla and Armageddon are not. So I assume those two are still up?
 
UFC 3 still works online. Just tested the copy I just received in the mail. The in game marketplace store does NOT work which is how the user is prompted to enter the online pass code, but if you redeem code outside the game then enter the game and play there is no problem accessing the online portions of the game including the clubs, the fights and user shared content. UFC 2010 seems to have the same problem, but I can't locate my online pass code at the moment to be sure.
 
So I know Family Game Night 1 (XBLA/retail) was taken offline, but what about Family Game Night 3? Need to know before I commit to buying it during the GoD sale going on now.
 
Games For Windows Live Marketplace will close on Thursday, August 22nd. This means games and dlc can no longer be purchased through the GFWL Marketplace, but games can still be played and earn achievements. Can games be bought on Steam and keys entered on GFWL? I doubt it.

Also, it appears that GFWL itself will shut down on July 1, 2014.

Thanks for posting this information. And when the hell was Microsoft going to mention this broadly?! I never bought the Arkham City and Bioshock 2 DLC, so I guess I'll never get a sale price on those. Damn...

I wonder what happens if you buy DLC for Games for Windows Live through Steam. Would it still register after tomorrow?

Minervas den is actually $5 (was 10 before wasn't it?). No Clarification on buying Dlc elsewhere. They say contact the developer.
