What does the NXE avatar thing have to do with Home?
They're not even close to trying to do the same thing.
Also, I had no idea there was an item cap, I've put a ton of crap into my place and never saw that.
Home isn't that bad when you're with friends just chatting.
Go in alone and it does get a little bleak until you AOL it and be a dick, which is fun for a bit.
What's going to keep me coming back is the unlockable stuff via playing games, I'm a sucker for collecting.
Sorry man, I really wanted to like it! I was so gun-ho on Home... it's just so messily put together.
And my reference to the NXE was just that Sony seemed like they wanted the Home avatars to sort of be your mascot. And they always talked about your Home character to be an extension of your play experiences, its just to disconnected to consider your Home character your actual PSN character.
What they need is to be like the NXE but take it a few steps further. As you cycle your friends on the XMB they are represented by their Home avatars, and with a simple button push you can form a group with your friends that essentially just takes you to their apartment; no loading. That's what this needs.
As of now, it's not really user friendly. It's going to be real hard for casuals to figure out how to create a gaming group ect. And it'd be frusturating for them always losing one another.
I dunno, Home may have potential... but the chances look slim.
