God. I remember the day I saw all of those Pixar Ironpack movies on the shelves at Best Buy around Christmas for a short time. I didn't even consider buying them because they were $30-35 apiece I believe and this is during a time where I spend $1-2k on holiday priced stuff. Those things are worth a fortune now and impossible to find. Hate myself so much for not buying them when I had the chance. Never thought those ironpacks would be gone so quickly.
Interesting... Have no clue what you're talking about. Never seen them.

But in current events today... 13 Hours was released at BB today. Was running errands and picked one up in store here in Queens. Not many were available at open. There were approximately 8 on the shelf.

The Disney Pixar iron packs only required $7.50 deposit on the movie, like a preorder card pretty much, and then you paid the balance of the movie when you picked it up on release date. So depending on the title it could be about $20-25 here in the US. Don't think there were any 3D titles back then

Also depending on the title some of them are pretty affordable. I got finding Nemo, The Muppets, Cars 2 and Toy Story 3 for about $15 average via eBay and even cheaper on the bluray.com boards
The expensive ones, $50-$60 and up range are Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio

I bought extras and resold within the month, one of the few times I've ever resold anything and at the time I was unemployed and trying rationalize a double dip. None have gone up a ton except for Sleeping Beauty which is an 100 bucks for a sealed copy. Still, all are worth at least double what they cost.

I've got Snow White and Lion King steelbooks hiding somewhere in my house.

I think BB also had Steelbooks for the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy when BDs were relatively new. I think those are worth a lot now.

But do they sell? I had the Sleeping Beauty and Snow White ones, I wish I sold them for $50.
They sell on ebay but not on Amazon because the Amazon sellers ask too much. I have had the ones I need on my wish list for a long time just so I have reminders of the ones I need but none of those sell

I don't remember if all of the PotC got BB ironpacks but I know that last one did.

I know I have a Muppet, Up, and I think a Snow White still sealed.
anyone ever looking to trade or sell their extras please lmk

I have no idea about these other Disney movies you guys are talking about.  I was specifically referring to just the Pixar movies in special ironcase packaging.  I guess these cases are known as "viva metal boxes".  They are thick and quite heavy, have nice spines and as far as I understand it no one in the US can distribute viva metal boxes anymore due to a copyright claim from the Steelbook people.  So they don't get made anymore.  Movies like Up, Toy Story, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, etc.  I never saw any of those other Disney viva metal boxes at retail.  Best Buy had about eight of the pixar films though.

Is there a Web site that you can easily find out how much a steel book is worth other then ebay.
Other than checking eBay completed auctions tiu just pay attention to the sale and trade threads on the bluray.com forums

Yes all of the Pixar ones can be had for $15 - $20 range on eBay
The Classic Disney titles go for more. They were all released at Best Buy prior to their initial blu Ray releases. Worked the same way as the Pixar preorders did.

There are a couple of decent steelbook deals at Target this week:

It Follows is on sale for $9.00.

Southpaw is on sale for $10.00 plus there is a 30% off Cartwheel discount, knocking it down to $7.00.  Please note the CW discount is not automatic and must be manually adjusted by the cashier, but the product is definitely eligible.

I also saw the Lucy steelbook mixed in with the normal Blu-rays of Lucy with a $5 price tag.  I can't recall if the steelbook has the same DPCI as the standard Blu-Ray but didn't scan it since I already have it.

i have BATB But it's bad shape it's in two half's

If you are lucky enough to find one the Lone Survivor SB is also $5($4 with Cartwheel). Also the San Andreas  SB is $10 if you can find one.

Looks like I am going to have to track down that It Follows steel at Target now, will still probably pass on the Lucy and Southpaw steels though

I went and picked up my 13 Hours steel yesterday and it had a small spine slash. Not too irritated though since it was the last one in any area stores. I blame myself anyways for procrastinating on pre-ordering.

It Follows is $9 not $5 in store. Southpaw is $10 with Cartwheel should be $7 somehow cartwheel didn't work. I should look at my receipt before i left the store :(

You can also price match It Follows at Best Buy if Target is sold out as they carry the steelbook now too.

Guess you totally missed my post a few posts above yours that warned you the CW discount for Southpaw would not be automatic.

This might also be a SB as well, though it doesn't have an item pic except it came up when putting the TMNT OOTS SB into my cart:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/bourne-classified-collection-blu-ray-disc/5347603.p?id=3582786&skuId=5347603

It's the "Bourne Classified Collection", which is the three Matt Damon Bourne movies (Identity, Supremacy, Ultimatum) as well as the Jason Renner movie (Legacy)

The small item pic in the "Customers Also Bought" for this item looks like it might be a SB like we had with the 5-movie MI collection.

I emailed BB last night about the PM, which they theoretically shouldn't have allowed since the item is showing as sold out for shipping though did have an "Add To Cart" for in-store pickup. They must have not noticed that, so I have my $3.12 credit going back to my card.

Amazon also has it for the $9 to match Target's pricing:

Picked up my 10 Cloverfield Lane steelbook today and was pleasantly surprised to see it comes with a digital copy of the first film as a bonus. I don't know if the plastic case Blu-ray comes with it as well; I only saw the offer sticker on the steelbook cases.

I was pleasantly surprised that it was included as well!

So I go and redeem it on iTunes... And then realized the first one isn't redeemable on iTunes. Bummer.

Where's the cloverfield code? I see the ad sticker on the front of the steelbook but I don't see the code anywhere

Edit: never mind. Found it. It's on the back of the page with the cloverfield lane code. D'oh!

Does anyone know if that Ghostbusters art is the same as the steelbooks Best Buy is getting for them next month?
Uh, what about BB getting Ghostbuster steelbooks?

Oh, it must be these:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ghostbusters-blu-ray-steelbook-1984/5345701.p?skuId=5345701

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ghostbusters-ii-steelbook-with-movie-reward-only--best-buy/5361800.p?id=3559339&skuId=5361800

2nd one is showing as having a movie reward (movie cash), I wonder if the first one will as well. Both are listed at $17.99. I'm assuming they're both the Remastered in 4K releases previously put out there.

And as we're talking Ghostbusters, we should probably toss this out there as well:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/real-ghostbusters-v1-v5-with-movie-reward-boxed-set/5361900.p?id=3573852&skuId=5361900

All five volumes of The Real Ghostbusters (animated) for $34.99 w/movie cash.
