That's MSRP and they should likely be dropping before release.

The UK ones are much cheaper and I would imagine to be region free.
It would be much more tempting at half that but even still I'll likely pass.

On another note, JLA Gods and Monsters got a solid review for 17 bucks I'm in. Hopefully it's easy to find on Tuesday. At this point I'm tempted to get Throne of Atlantis or War to complete my collection. Didn't someone have an extra of throne they wanted to sell? War would be great too but it looks like that one's kinda rare so I don't want to ask for any special deals and take away someone else's profit.

Edit: I was thinking I had nothing to possibly trade but I do have a Big Hero Six Target steelbook that's opened (watched it once) and I'd be willing to trade it.

I don't remember if I have an extra War or Atlantis still, but I'll check when I get home.

Stopping by Target before work Tuesday as well, and I'll probably pick up an extra or two again.

Thanks, sounds like some Target's clearance the SB's over time but I've never seen them at mine.

I looked at Target for Steelbooks, felt silly like I should have known they'd have none, and left with Interstellar and Edge of Tomorrow for $20 (B1G1 50%). Felt smart.

Curious though, those having success finding Steelbooks in Target, what's the shelf-life availability like in your areas? Target.com lists the SBs as "Not available in store," but it sounds like you all actually have mixed success finding them?

I'd like more but probably not smart to start collecting a new thing that requires full MSRP and shipping costs if some of that could be negated by going in store.

Good find if you found both of those since they're not recent, especially EOT.

Good find if you found both of those ...
Yeah, thanks, but not SteelBook tho which is what my original lure into the store was, which also increases my curiosity if you guys actually get Target Steelbooks from in-store or if you order from the website, since it says "Not available in-store" for their SteelBook versions.

My Target is a ghost town so if they really do get Steelbooks in store, it'd be nice to get and take home those days (like a Tuesday?).

I guess I just could ask a clerk but rather hear your adventures to Target first-hand.

SBs are there on Tuesday but disappear fast at my local Targets. By Friday, you're SOL if not sooner.

Target has started carrying some older titles in SB like BB does, so those are easier to find (comic style ones or the newer art house looking ones)

Very cool, looking forward to delving into this potentially financially devastating hobby.

I'm pretty much interested only in region 1 (or non-locked other region EXCLUSIVE) Steelbooks that come with BluRay disc and special features, at this time.

Looking forward to Target's new releases, will probably keep a closer eye on BB as well, especially if BB ever has overstock sales on them.

Thanks for the infos, sorry to clutter with general chat and inquiries instead of posting deals or upcoming releases.

I order them online as I'm not always able to hit a Target on release day, though the last two that were out/are coming out, Chappie and JL: Gods and Monsters, they've been in-store only and not online.

Ordering it online has its own issues since Target doesn't usually have separate DPCI #s for the steelbook and non-steelbook versions of a title. If you check for it in-store or online by DPCI #, you will likely be taking a chance on getting the steelbook. American Sniper had two DPCI #s for the two releases, non-steelbook and steelbook, though that was a big surprise when that happened.

So with the confirmed release date being October 2nd for Avengers Age of Ultron. I am guessing we should see the US Steelbook announced in the next couple weeks right?... Right?

At my Target, it really depends on the steelbook. Generally, I can find them on my lunchbreak on Tuesday, but many are gone by the weekend. Chappie is still there now, but they had plenty of that when it released. One word of warning with Target.com, if the steel and regular have the same item number, I have had them ship the regular item when the description says steelbook. I think it was Son of Batman, my Target didn't get any, so I tried online. That's part of the reason I prefer picking them up in-store if possible.

As a sidenote, I just got my shipping notice for the three Mondo steels from Target.com. Excited to see that Flash Gordon one!

Good timing! I believe there are now two versions of it showing up on the Best Buy website.

Going to get Ultron's for sure. The front matches it better, and the movie title matches better. As much as I like Vision...

Guess this sold out already.
I did the same even though I haven't seen the movie (maybe Vision plays a bigger part?). I preordered Inside Out knowing those still go quickly BUT if you wanted a the digital HD copy you would find it's essentially a wash to get the (hopefully coming) US steelbook and order the 3D disc off Amazon.uk or even ebay.

Also, thanks for looking for the DC stuff. I'll keep a lookout on ebay for deals.

Went with Vision because I really dislike Ultron's movie design.

I was actually going to put the disc in my Avengers 1 MetalPak, but this one looks too cool.

Any chance of seeing a Avengers 1 3D steelbook  too at bestbuy and what's up with the New JL STEELBOOK at Target

Couldn't decide which Age of Ultron version to get earlier this morning. So rather risk missing out while I try to decide, I just went with one of each.

After having a afternoon to ponder over it, I think I've got to agree with you. Don't know if I'm going to cancel the Vision one outright or wait until they both arrive to see them in person and just return one.

I got me and my son an Ultron backcover edition each and on the same order to get free shipping. I hope they dont limit it to one version per order down the line and cancel my order because of it.

What's the difference between the two is it only the steelbook case's are different

The Vision copy doesn't have Vision in the movie and the Ultron copy doesn't have Ultron in the movie, since they're stuck on the back of the steelbook. They're two special editions exclusive to Best Buy.

The justice league STEELBOOK is up on target website but you can't pre-order it they are really F@#$!%king up this steelbook release

I'm with you there. Have to do that so far for:

Transformers 4

Edge Of Tomorrow

Hobbit 2

,... plus some other ones I'm sure I'm forgetting.
I did it for 2 of those 3. Also with Hercules. Still waiting on a good deal on the 3D version of Transformers 4.

If this shares the same DPCI as the regular version (as it is rumored to) I would highly suggest against ordering the steelbook from Target's website since they have pretty consistently messed that up in the past. Just get into a Target sometime on release date and you should be fine.

There's no way for me  to get to a target store till August 4

It doesn't exist on the website, unless it's using a word other than "steelbook" on the Target.com site:

http://www.target.com/s?searchTerm=steelbook&category=0%7CAll%7Cmatchallpartial%7Call+categories&lnk=snav_sbox_steelbook

They didn't even bother to mention the steelbook in the circular, although the tiny picture has the ultra tiny "Target exclusive steelbook" sticker.
