Lenticular cover.
They can keep their lenticular cover, I want my 3D transfer! Lion King and B&B are just phenomenal.

Amazon matched Walmart's $16.96 price on all of the Star Wars steelbooks.
I think I may bite at that price. I just really wish there was an HD included. Also, considering the box set came with an extra disc, are they just breaking up that content on the trilogy discs? I guess I'm glad Amazon doesn't charge upfront.

Ya I wish Aladdin was given the premium treatment like Lion King... I had to order the steelbook from Zavvi.. I just wished there was a super collectors set with all 3 movies, steelbook, and cool looking lamp thing... Come on US, do it for Robin Williams

There's a lot less scenes in Aladdin that benefit from 3D though. The Prince Ali march would be great, I'm sure. Carpet ride is obvious, but I feel like it'd be less impressive than it sounds. And then the end with Jafar stuff. A lot of scenes are also really dark, which makes 3D problematic.

Don't get me wrong. Aladdin, Little Mermaid, and Lion King are like my favorites, and two of them had the 3D treatment.

How many of those have they had? Off the top of my head I only recall Planes:F&R and Sleeping Beauty. The upcoming Cinderella looks lame, I have the previous two.

Did Alladin ever get a conversion, I know it was part of the big four before The Little Mermaid tanked. I'm still waiting for a region free encode of Ratatouille.

Aladdin never got the conversion. They also never released Little Mermaid 3D in theaters. They released Lion King and Cinderella in theaters, with Little Mermaid next. I think by the time they pulled it from theatrical release, it was done/mostly done, so they made the 3D Blu-rays anyways. I don't know why they stopped, since Lion King and Cinderella did reasonably well.

Edit: Supposedly pulled because Finding Nemo 3D and Monsters Inc 3D didn't do well in theaters.

They all (B&B, Lion King, etc.) have a lot parallax that translated to a very cool depth IMO. Aladdin had tons in establishing shots of the city, temple, oasis, etc. It may not have been good as Beauty or Lion King but I bet it still would have been amazing. I haven't had a chance to watch Mermaid in 3D but heard it was the least impressive of the 3 by far.

You're right about Nemo and Monsters not doing well when re-released in theaters in 3D and it did tank Little Mermaid from being put out in the theaters.

I would have to say B&TB was the best of the reconversions, then Lion King, Monsters 3D, Nemo and then Little Mermaid, IMO.

Little Mermaid does have some added depth in 3D, though it's not that much in comparison to some of the other ones out there.

If anyone is catching up on some missed steels like me because you came in late to the game, Amazon has the 101 Dalmatian Zavvi steel for $19.99.

So I just got a backordered notice for my Mad Max: Fury Road steelbook which was ordered on Tuesday and they are now asking me to switch to in-store pickup.  I'd rather not since I can't usually get to a Best Buy on a Tuesday, but I also don't want to risk having it canceled and being charged for the digital copy which I already redeemed.  I'm considering waiting it out a couple more days to see if the website gets more stock, but really am a little paranoid I may miss out on the steelbook all together now if I wait too long.  Anyone else get this delayed backordered notice after securing a preorder from the website?

Does Target not hold in-store pickup orders for a week like Walmart and Best Buy do?

EDIT: I don't know why I read Target.

Anyway, Best Buy holds in-store pickup orders for a week. That's one of the main reasons in-store pickup exists.

Lovely, it's Sold Out Online at the moment. :bomb:

Yeah I went to go buy one online two days ago and it was already sold out online.  Talking to the media supervisor in Best Buy today he seemed to think they were late in getting their in-store reserve cards for the Mad Max steelbook.  He said he should have them on Tuesday, so we'll see.  (I'm not even sure if these pre-order cards exist, but they had others and that's what he said.)  A bunch of people must have rushed to buy the movie this week when it dropped to $20; we were just too late.  Hopefully it's listed at $20 again next week.

They went through this with Guardians Of The Galaxy, if I remember correctly, plus a couple others in the past.

Guess I'll have to check periodically and see if it comes back in-stock online and see if there are pre-order cards in-store.

I wonder if Pitch Perfect and Cinderella are getting steelbooks. I can't find anything on BB.com for PP2 that shows it,

Cinderella is getting lenticular packaging:

Pitch Perfect 2 is getting a shirt pack-in:

In the BB ad that starts tomorrow, there was a note about pre-orders at Best Buy at $19.99 that gave 100 MyBB points.  Items of note:

Avengers AOU Vision Steelbook

Avengers AOU Ultron Steelbook

Furious 7 Steelbook

Cinderella Lenticular cover

Also shown were Pitch Perfect 2 and Jurassic World, with a t-shirt pictured next to Jurassic World.

Wonder if that will apply to existing preorders or not...might cancel and reorder just to be safe.

I would cancel and reorder. I will.

FF7 steelbook, Cinderella lenticular cover and both Avengers AoU steelbooks are showing as $19.99.  Ordered them in two sets, as FF7 and Cinderella both release on the same day, obviously the two Avengers steelbooks release at the same time.

Mad Max is still showing as Sold Out :bomb:, so I guess it's in-store pre-order for me.

I ended up preordering the Cinderella lenticular slip soon after they changed the price and advertised the 100 bonus reward points.  A couple hours later I checked my order history and it was now listed as "backordered" and they asked me to select an in-store option to pick it up at instead of it being mailed.  This has been an annoying trend for me recently with these BB exclusives. To top it off, the Cinderella is still up for preorder at the site, yet I got the backordered message several hours ago.  Why are they overselling some of these titles all of a sudden? Previous BB exclusives have never been backordered for me after ordering.  They always were either preordered or sold out.

I don't see any note under avengers of FF about the bonus points on their item pages. Don't see any note of this on the movie promo page either.

It's shown in the print ad, so I'm keeping that in case there's an issue with the points not posting.

Try here:

I also printed the pages to PDF as a backup, though not applicable to me since I used GCs to purchase them:

Dammit Shrike, I thought you meant Final Fantasy VII steelbook.

Next time I'll put it as F&F 7.

I automatically thought Final Fantasy 7. Then I became disappointed lol

For the people that preordered the fast 7 steelbook we will be getting the cinema now code on August 25th

Did anybody who pre-ordered Mad Max already get the CinemaNow code?  I pre-ordered it in-store on Sunday, no code on the receipt, no email.
I literally preordered Mad Max in store maybe 10 minutes ago and have already received my code.
Email or on the receipt?

EDIT: Both receipt and email
