Also my debate, except my store had a tag for $24.99 when it was in stock last week. Not sure if it's still that price or even still in stock but that would still be $5 more than I wanted to pay.
It's sad, but I would probably bite at $24.99. I had a $19.99 order for it that ended up getting cancelled so I want that price for the steelbook version especially since the regular version seems ripe for a $10-$15 holiday sale.

If they canceled it though it's back in stock at $29.99 now, call Best Buy customer care and get them to make a new manual order for you at $19.99. They have to do it if they magically have stock now versus when you made an order and they canceled it out from under you.

So a store near me has furious 7 steelbook for store pickup but when I called them they said that they didn't have any in stock but it's still showing up in stock for store pickup should I just say F it and just go there anyway to see for myself

Well, they don't *have* to. I don't think there's anything in their T&C that guarantees that they will price match previously canceled orders. That said, they might do it just to be nice.

If he doesn't have any success with BB.com CS, then a call to BB corporate explaining how they could oversell an item and not have valid inventory control on items for sale online, though they magically have it available for sale at a non-sale price. That will likely get something taken care of when getting to BB executive customer relations.

Some folks over at the bluray.com forums have said that they have had luck calling to get a manual adjustment to the cheaper price but I believe they had preorders that were not fulfilled.

If their inventory shows they have one, they could just as easily have zero available...

If in-store pickup is an option, there are 3+ copies showing up in active inventory at the time of trying to do the in-store pickup order.

If in-store pickup isn't an option, there are 0-2 copies showing up in active inventory.

I know that was true in the past, but their system has updated over the years. I know for a fact that pick up is possible where there are 2 or less copies. Don't believe me? Call store 873 and ask for how many copy of Senran Kagura 2 they have.

Hey, so I pre-ordered the steelbook of avengers age of ultron. The pre-order price was 29.99. I've already been charged 31.xx. the steelbook is now down to 19.99. How do I go about getting the new price matched?

Pretend like i don't have the time for that and tell me how many copies they have.

Zavvi is having a clearence sale on a number of Steelbooks, including the Breaking Bad and several Disney titles.
Appreciate the heads up but like many Zavvi sales it's unclear how some of those are clearance when their prices look identical to the regular clearance prices.

It's been my experience that I never have to do anything and they always refund the difference after the release date.

wanted to preorder AoU for in store pick up but none of the stores in town are available. Hope there are a good amount set aside for walk ins

Not official steelbooks but I did get Cars 2 3D and Cinderella (1955) Best Buy metalpaks via a trade

I ran into the same issue with Avengers. I have like four or five within driving distance and every one gave me "Sold Out" when I tried. After going through each, I started back at the first and it let me order from them. Go figure.

So I tried to have them price match the preorder for mad max and they just made a second order and it was too late to cancel the first one. I got both today and my girlfriend returned one for me and said she picked the good one to keep. I get home and open the other steelbook and the back is completely smashed in  So I called support and they said I have to wait a week for a replacement but I told them I will just go back to the store and exchange it for the other copy. They said that won't work but I will still try it. Anyone know what my chances are at just handing them the other copy and show I returned it yesterday and they just exchange it out?

I would have waited to check out both of them before returning one, so that part didn't make sense to me.

You can certainly go to the store and have them exchange it out for your destroyed copy, though they may not have a replacement copy for you, as the copy you returned may be back on the floor and could already been sold. I'd suggest calling them when they open, if they're not already open, explain to them what the situation is and ask them to hold a copy for you to exchange out.

I got there at open and it took twenty minutes but we found the copy finally. Exchanged no hassle other then it was misplaced somewhere. I got lucky next time my girlfriend knows to wait until I get a look at them before one is returned. Knock on wood no more steelbook issues with Best Buy this year.

It's really dumb how I pre-ordered the steelbook ver of furious 7 and they said they didn't have any but they have 100's of the regular ver of the movie in stock

I also went to the bestbuy that showed in stock for pick up they have one in stock but they can't find it :whistle2:

Tried to order Mad Max as a blind buy, only available for store pick up, will not let me order for my store. Same problem trying to order Ultron SB.  Best Buy's website has been really awful lately about ordering. : \

Have one listed at a store down the road. Gonna place the order and grab one. If they have more I'll grab some. I honestly didn't even care for the movie.

But I care about you guys... :grouphug:

EDIT: No dice on the SB. Got offered the standard case, no sign of the steelbook. My Best Buy actually removed their steelbook section which I found kind of odd.

WOOT, BBY AoU steelbooks have shipped...price automagically adjusted to $19.99 each. Come to papa...
Mine are in a holding pattern as open orders, though I know BB's main warehouse is a couple of states away, so they may be shipping them later for me than for you.

Dammit, I asked Best Buy to change my payment for my avengers steelbooks and it got cancelled 5 minutes later after I got off the phone.

Same here, except I cancelled my order from back in July for $29.99 ea and reordered a few days ago at the lower price. Wasn't about to risk the hassle of what the phone rep told me about getting the price adjusted assuming mine didn't auto update.

If you can only buy one of the AOU steelbook ver  which one  should you buy

Best Buy will have an exclusive steelbook for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation on 12/15, "in addition to a package containing all five movies on Blu-ray in Steelbook cases": http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/09/29/mission-impossibles-rogue-nation-gets-retail-exclusive-blu-rays-dvds?abthid=560ab540b38a1d8b11000019

There aren't any images for that steelbook set, unfortunately.
