I've been looking for a good excuse to preorder one of the steelbooks because of the bonus points this week. The $30 price tag is definitely enough to deter me from preordering. I'll hope for a sale of some sort down the line.

I'm in the same boat but I want to get a version on release day to watch again. Seeing the $30 price on the steelbook I really wish I would have ordered the $25 copy at Target when it came with the $10 in gift cards.

Yeah, same guy but I guess for $10 more atm it doesn't seem so bad, I have the Target Digibook preordered to match the other movies I have. I'm just torn between this or getting the Ultra HD copy, I could wait on this, I'm sure the price will go down.

Wow, this was already going to be a likely pass due to lack of 3D but I was willing to double dip for around $20 or so. Not anymore.

It feels good to say "no" to a steelbook every once in a while - you guys should try it! ;)

 
How many releases have had both a Blu-Ray steelbook and 4k steelbook? 

I'm in for the Huntsman movie for sure, but I'm struggling over which to get now.  I'm more than likely going to get the 4k steelbook just because I have the TV for it, but that was an interesting decision I had to make there.  First time a movie I was interested offered the two options.  A sign of things to come I suppose...

 
I have the non-4K version of Huntsman pre-ordered when they were offering the $10 GC promo, so I think I'm stuck with that one.  Guess I'm pre-ordering the other one and selling the first one, I suppose.

Thanks. I checked this no more than six hours ago and it was still showing as not orderable online. Just placed my pre-order a minute ago.

One thing in our favor is that it appears to have a different DPCI # than the Amaray version. SB is showing a DPCI # of 058-37-1578 while the Amaray version is showing DPCI # of 058-37-1581, so it shouldn't be the usual issue to find it in-store via DPCI #.

Thanks for posting I ended up preordering this so I didnt have to worry about getting to the store on release morning. This will be my first Target DC exclusive steelbook hopefully my OCD doesnt force me to hunt down the rest of them.

I ordered one online but will probably check the closest store that morning just to be safe. Can't really trust Target to send a mint copy (or even the right version)

It's been a long time since I ordered a Steelbook online from Target.  Aren't you guys worried that they will send the regular cased version or has this problem been resolved?

They show different DPCI numbers, so they should be separate and not have the issue with the wrong version shipping out.

Doubt it's going to be rare? Are you new to Target DC steels? All of them are a challenge to get a hold of and the numbers are limited. With The Killing Joke being as massive as it is I would plan on being at the store when it opens on release day. Hopefully since this has its own DPCI BrickSeek will be a big help.
 
Even though Dark Knight Returns Deluxe had a great demand to it, Target didn't seem to increase the run of steelbooks from the other DC animated movies.  I'm expecting the same for Killing Joke.  If you want it, be there when the store opens.   Even though I was able to pre-order online, I'm still going to the store on release day to get a copy because I don't trust Target's online system.  I've been burned on Fury Road by Best Buy and two other DC steelbooks from Target.

Rare as in I wouldn't be able to find a copy in a local store when they open. I've never had that issue so it's just annoying that I'll have to visit the store now to get it vs having it shipped to me.

Exactly. I wasn't able to order online but even if I did I would be going to the store anyways as all of these DC steels at target have had some kind of issue. Whatever the last one was there were none to be found at the local stores on release day and they shows up a couple days later out of the blue, thankfully BrickSeek was a big help as to where to check even though the DPCI's were the same.
I almost got screwed on the BB Fury Road steel because I used that stupid in store preorder card. In that case i saw what was happening on the east coast via the bluray.com forums and made sure I was at the store when they opened. I was able to get one even though they had no idea how to handle or ring up those preorder cards.
 
The Allegiant steelbook just went on sale for $17.99 at Best Buy.  Guess it wasn't selling as much as they hoped, which makes sense since the film bombed hard.  Anyway, remember to shoot off an email asking for your price adjustment today.

Thanks, Josef. Just sent them an email. My order of Allegiant was from one of the Buy $50, get $10 GC orders I placed, so that makes that purchase even better.

My guess is it will include the retail versions of both games, plus the steelbook case. Hopefully the steelbook has a place to hold two carts inside if that is the case.

 
dammit, missed the Killing Joke SB, didn't check here for a few days....gotta set a reminder to scour the stores on release day...bleh.

 
Batman Superman Best Buy steelbook available again - been trying to get that one but it only had limited availability for the longest time. Still $29.99 though

especially now that futureproofing by buying 4k is a consideration. You aren't getting a complete version. $30 no 3D no 4k, for a mediocre movie?, fuck off.

Makes me glad that I got the Target book version of Man of Steel, which caused my OCD to go for the Target book version of BvS over the BB Steelbook.  As much as I like SBs, the cost difference even BEFORE the Target gift card promo made the decision even easier for me.

 
Not too thrilled about the price, especially considering the lack of 3D disc and I wasn't that fond of the movie but I had some PayPal credit and knew I'd regret not picking up the steel so I preordered for store pickup. Have been hearing good things about the ultimate cut so I'm hoping that lives up to expectations
 
Does anybody know offhand if anybody is going to have the regular bluray for BvS for $20? I might just go that route since my Man of Steel is just the regular version.
