Does anybody know offhand if anybody is going to have the regular bluray for BvS for $20? I might just go that route since my Man of Steel is just the regular version.
The cheapest I've seen so far is $24.99, but I'm sure it'll drop in price like a rock.

I'm just gonna wait now, the movie was never worth it in the first place so $29.99, no thanks I can't wait for a sale... Take that money and spend it on the Civil War Steelbook

Yep, I preordered the Civil War steelbook as soon as it went up. Probably would've preordered the BvS steelbook if it included 3D. No 3D, no purchase (for me anyway).

Too bad the 3D is only for the theatrical version though. I went ahead and got the steel preordered because I'm hoping the ultimate cut is as good as some people are saying, and I have no desire to see the crappy theatrical cut ever again. If I hate the ultimate cut too, I should have an easy time selling the steel off and getting my money back.

Yup gone

Just got a text from BB that my BvS steel is a available for pickup. I know it's really not though. Why you gotta lie to me BB?

My local BB got in a healthy amount of the BvS steelbook (30 copies or so) but they seem to be selling at a decent pace.  I was hoping for an eventual price drop (like Star Wars The Force Awakens) but this probably won't see one.

I love steels, but wasn't digging the BvS one. Just picked up the Target Digibook. Ultimate Cut is what this movie should have been, though it's still not amazing, it's 10x better than the crappy theatrical cut.

Really? 30 minutes makes that much a difference? I blind bought the steel since I figured why not. My issue is that I'd like to let me kids watch it after I preview it but can't understand how/why the ultimate cut got an R rating.

It has to do with the way it was cut. There are things that make more sense, and it flowed better. It could be a scene where "Why didn't x character know that??", then a follow up that wasn't in the original cut would explain it. I'm not going to spoil anything for anyone on here. Ummm but more blood, and U see Ben Affleck's ass in a shower scene.

Any impressions of the Target Batman Superman digipack?

I bought the Target exclusive and Best Buy steelbook but haven't opened them yet and not sure which to keep.  Heard the Target exclusive Star Wars was poorly made.

It's nice, pretty much like most digibooks, but a bit thicker. The SW exclusive was a pos.

EDIT: And those wondering about the steelbook, it's identical no matter which one you get. If Superman is on the front then the spine is upside down and Batman is on the back. If Batman is on the front the spine is right side up and Superman is on the back. That's what they mean by "reversible". So unless you're keeping it sealed, it makes no difference which version you buy.

Cool.  Thanks for the youtube link (to anyone watching the video, the guy opens the digibook around the 4 min mark).

And lol that the Best Buy steelbooks are exactly the same.  Thought the spine would be right side up depending on which version you got.  Really silly to have two different sku's there.

My OCD wouldn't allow the spine to be upside down since I display my movies on shelves.

In that case, is the front even visible? You could just rotate it 180 degrees.

I think some foreign Steelbooks have upside down spines anyway

Most unboxings I found were batman, but here's Superman (it's in Spanish). But just watch the 1:30-1:40 mark. You can see the spine is upside down with the Superman side on the front.

Watch out for Deadpool and South Park sets - spines are upside down on those and I'm sure those goofballs did it on purpose. It bothers me too, but with Deadpool, I find it really funny since it just works with the character.

Thanks for reminding me!

Haha, man, I bet people who bought both SKUs of Batman v Superman and opened them are kicking themselves right now.
Thankfully, I didn't open either one and I am going to return my Superman one since that was a standalone order and I can return it for a full refund. My Batman one was preordered during the "spend $50, get a $10 GC" promo. Had they done it like Age of Ultron with different cases, I would have kept both B v S SBs.

I was able to rescue an older guy from buying both versions of the Batman v Superman steelbook at the store.  He was grateful.

Well, considering it says right at the bottom the packaging is reversible, it's their own stupidity that led them to wasting their money.
True, but I think a lot of people (myself included) assumed that the spine and the disc holders would be right-side up for whichever character you bought as your front display cover, and then you could flip it over for the other one. But the way they did it, Batman is the front cover for all copies, and Superman is on the back, if you go by the spine and disc holder orientation. It's kind of lame that they even sold a Superman SKU for this to begin with, since all they did was flip it over in the packaging.

I only ordered one, but I can understand the confusion here and why some would be upset.

That's why I returned my "Superman" copy last night, since there was nothing different about it than the "Batman" copy I purchased.

I just found it to be a okay movie.... Wish they explored more but man they did Batgirl dirty..... Felt like all the rest of the animated flims at the end of the day, can't wait to own the Steelbook

So was the animation on par with the rest? I couldn't shake the feeling there was a big drop in quality and was reminded of that concern when I saw the trailer at beginning of BvS. I'm hoping it's at least as good as Batman vs. Robin, Bad Blood, etc.

Thanks for that. Had to make a new order as I had BB do a PM when they dropped $1 each after release, and it's one PM per order. If you didn't get that previous PM, you can get it PM'd this time around. If you did get the previous PM, you will have to do a new order and return either these replacement ones with your original receipt if you already opened the first ones, or the original ones if they weren't opened.

Dammit, I'm now considering the Ghostbusters steels, despite already having the digibook for both movies (which I got for $5).  Thanks guys! ;)

Also, the in-store price for Batman: The Killing Joke steelbook has been confirmed at $16.99 per a post in the BR.com forums.
